Actually you got the autofocus system from the 40D but with an even slower framerate.

But in return you get THE best image quality out of all the Canon EOS cameras at every ISO.

Maybe for Pro-work it isn't enough... but for me... I'd get the 5DMII and be happy :D 40D sucks at any ISO above 800. I have it and it's the only body that I use.

I got teh 7D, and it holds even longer the Framerate. With a fast card (>266X and ISO 100) it goes on forever(>60seconds) with 8fps!

I love how everybody thinks taking more pictures a second will make you a great photographer.... ansel adams, cartier bresson, and imogen cunningham are rolling around in their graves laughing at how stupid and half witted photography has become!

Do we seriously need this many fps? I can only see wildlife and sports using this..... and that's pushing it, they should know when to take a photograph or not, not just point it and fire away like gun at a wwII fighter plane.

You make a good point. Here's why I picked a 3.5 fps over a 2.5 fps: More shots, more moments to pick from when editing down. More shots happen quicker which allows me to let the camera autobracket quicker and lets me just take photos.

You're right about Ansel Adams, though. But-- he was also shooting glass negatives and by their very nature, taking much longer exposures.

I don't shoot in burst mode all the time. I love shooting one at a time and living in the moment.

Practically all the eos d range do around 5 fps or so, which is still pretty good.

On a 20d you set it to sport mode and keep the shutter button pressed down and track a moving object, its best in bright daylight. The max amount of frames it can do continuously depends on file size, less megapixel image= more frames captured.

The shutter is the only moving part and WILL wear out eventually. They are great cameras all of them.

A point to make is that fps is totally unchanged whatever resolution you use.

Higher res images just mean it cant take so many before you get buffer overflow and it stops

Dslr are welll cool but need a good lens for best results, which can easily be more expensive than the camera itself, ask anyone who has a canon dslr and they pretty much love them I have a 20d and it rocks.
