I have to agree that the iPhone interface is certainly prettier than the Android but that's always been Apple's forte. I don't think there will ever be a competitor that can out-pretty Apple (maybe Sony? X-D) but I can still listen to music, take calls and use voice navigation simultaneously on my G1!

Apple never used any PARC technology, but Apple did create the GUI you and I use today. Xerox had many things wrong, many things unfinished, but Steve was smart enough to fix them and move society forward.

From a developer's viewpoint, Android is better because you write in Java, which is much more popular than Objective C [thus, a larger developing community]. Currently, the iPhone is ahead because it was released earlier. However, I expect change.

Yes, all technical people agree AT&T is the top cell carrier. Their network is for more modern, faster and is the world standard. Verizon has more 3G coverage if you are out in bumfuck, but for 90% of the US population AT&T is the way to go since it allows multitasking on the iPhone and allows international travel.

I have to agree that the iPhone interface is certainly prettier than the Android but that's always been Apple's forte. I don't think there will ever be a competitor that can out-pretty Apple (maybe Sony? X-D) but I can still listen to music, take calls and use voice navigation simultaneously on my G1!
Let's face it, Android can always get prettier (and has been) and at least you have freedom of choice (unlike w Apple).

PARC was simply an idea center down the road from Apple... but politically, Xerox couldn't use what they created so Apple agreed to pay them $2 million for 3 visits.
Apple never used any PARC technology, but Apple did create the GUI you and I use today. Xerox had many things wrong, many things unfinished, but Steve was smart enough to fix them and move society forward.

Yes, but the Nexus one is 1 product cycle ahead, the new iPhone will be at 1Ghz like the iPad. You can write in Java if you want, google: flexycore --- but Java is too primitive for a modern device like the iPhone. Objective C is no hinderance to developers, you're just blowing smoke. No, the Android has proved unpopular since the underpinnings are archaic, it's simply no match to OSX.
As for patents, we'd end up poor like the chinese if we didn't respect other people's efforts.

Actually, I didn't know about YouTube not allowing full links. That was the only thing I was uneducated in. I'm going to ask you a non-computer related question, if you answer it well, I will agree with you and we can both love on, if not... Then I guess I'll move on alone. You live in the US right(not the question) so what is the best cellular provider in the untied states? If you answer it even close to what my opinion is then I will say that you are correct about everything and won.

Yes, YouTube will kick out all links, so you have to be creative... snip url is one of the best to get around it, but you still need to isolate the "com" "org" etc
Yes, all technical people agree AT&T is the top cell carrier. Their network is for more modern, faster and is the world standard. Verizon has more 3G coverage if you are out in bumfuck, but for 90% of the US population AT&T is the way to go since it allows multitasking on the iPhone and allows international travel.

But no, everyone in the industry agrees Bill Gates is the biggest white collar criminal the world has ever known. He hasn't created a single thing, everything is stolen through legal contracts (see BASIC, DOS, Windows, NT, etc)
He comes from a family of lawyers, so he knows nothing about computing.

No, I'm always correct, so it seems you don't do research.
Apple sells about 7 million iPhones every 90 days, so sure... you are going to have a few thousand users in rural areas and a few large cities that have minor problems. Most of that has been resolved since AT&T has invested bilions to catch up with Apple's success.
Yes, the iPhone is incredibly well done, so its popularity has caused some growing pains, but that has be resolved so you can now get an iPhone.

@maciindrew If Mac is so great on it's own technology then why did it have to dip into the open source well to update it's OS (OSX is really BSD Unix in Apple clothing)?
Just because they did a great job with the iPhone doesn't mean they created the market. As for the patents, I wouldn't trust US patent law any more than Fox News/CNN.
Apple's great at making things n00b friendly & pretty but to imply that they themselves haven't copied other people's homework along the way simply untrue.

You're telling the world that you can go over 7300 individual patents. You either work for the patent office or copied that from another website. I love the patent thing though, they'll patent things that shouldn't even be allowed to be patented (like DNA patterns that belong to humanity just because a company discovered it).

Jeez man, I looked at that snipr link you put up and I got to tell you that after reading over a couple of these I can't believe that they can claim patents on things that are not only vague but probably conflict with tons of other patents. Yes, I actually read a few, not just looking at the titles.
Thanks though because before I just didn't trust the patents office. Now I have reasons. About 7300 of them with a nifty little link to them.

No, if they conflict, a patent cannot be granted, so Apple clearly owns their 7300+ inventions fair and square.
Not sure about emoticons, search for it at the patent database and see if anyone owns it.

1. A Microsoft TEAM invented multitouch
2. The first patent for the multitouch software and hardware are by Microsoft.
I will agree that Apple "perfected it" but they stole it from Microsoft.

the droid and iphone are both good phones, the droid has more features and the screen has nearly twice as many pixels but the iphone has more apps but the android app store is growing.

incorrect, Microsoft never invented anything, much less "multitouch" that came in 1982, by the University of Toronto's Input Research Group, and Apple was the first to perfect and patent it.
