@dostoyevesky12 There was never an "old McCain". His entire political career is predicated on constantly selling out his persona for something new.
He was different as a congressman, then he changed as a Senator, then he changed again when he ran in 2000. Then he changed yet again when he thought about bailing the party in 2004. Then he changed yet again in preparation for 2008, and then changed again in order to keep his Senate seat in 2010. I don't know which McCain it is now, nor do I care.
The stupidest part of it all is that had he run as his 2000 self he would've had such a better chance to win in 2008. I never got the energizing the party thing, it makes sense for the primary but why the general election? Are people really gonna vote for Obama over Mccain in Texas? Not enough, that's for sure.
He should've run as a reformer with Powell as his VP. He could've won.
NO SIR! YOU ARE AN INDEPENDENT....well pretty darn close. You are NOT a conservative! dont claim to be one! IF you claim yourself to be a conservative, why do you believe in higher taxes???????!!
Hillary Clinton is being preened to take President Maobama's place. Both Obama and Hilary answer to George Soros who contributed to both and who has the mainstream media in his back pocket. He gets Obama to take the Country to extreme socialism passing treasonous legislation against the will of the American people, then gets Hillary in office. Our dollar is on the verge of collapse, and our sovereignty is threatened as a direct result of legislation and lack of leadership.
@Oktoberfesting i hate to break it to you mate, but your economy was fucked before obama took over and its going to remain fucked regardless of whatever republicans take over. and from what ive seen of some of the dickheads that are coming in wanting to cut scientific research in a lot of important areas, they're going to be the one who sees america cease to be a superpower because you'll fall so far behind
I'm not arguing you with that point. But Obama Sun Tzu'd America further destroying our economy in ways that are almost unbelievable. He hates America and Americans. He as well as many members in Congress are traitors who have committed treason, high crimes and bribery as defined by the U.S. Constitution. Problem is the people that are in charge of trying and convicting them are the same people that have committed it. We live in scary times.
@Oktoberfesting further destroying your economy? you were already pretty fucked before he came into office. a shockingly bad recession had just started, the republicans signed the first massive debt creating bail out and you were involved in a number of costly wars in other countries. you look at the trillions of dollars america is in debt and the warning signs both republicans and democrats ignored for years.
Our debt was $10.6 Trillion when Obama got in office. Now it's $14.1 Trillion two years after he took office. He increased our total debt by 33% in half a term. You don't think that's treasonous. And if you looked at all his Executive Orders and all the legislation he signed, you'd see he was nothing more a TRAITOR.
@Oktoberfesting right and there was no massive collapse of the entire american economy. do you know what happens during a recession? the government straight away goes into debt because the budget revenue drops like a stone. secondly just like the republicans who seemed to only support bailouts when they're in power the democrats had to do something about the economy.
@Oktoberfesting your bailout was absolutely tiny compared to the size of your economy. on a per capita basis australias was far larger and we did not even go into a recession.
i think you're best advised to direct your accusations of racism towards the fools who were in power for 8 years before this crisis occurred. so obama actually tries to do something about the economy and he's a traitor right? and WHAT legislation brands him a traitor? only an idiot says debt makes someone a traitor
Clinton didn't leave a $5.6 Trillion surplus but a $1.4 trillion debt over eight years. He borrowed from Social Security, part of a $115 Trillion unfunded liability, to make it seem he left a surplus. See my about me for links. The Debt Clock should be adjusted increasing the national debt from $14.0 to $21 Trillion and reducing our unfunded liabilities by $7 Trillion to reflect the truth about Clinton.

He is a spendthrift Neocon who felt it was necessary to impose environmental regulations, federalizing public education, expanding aid to foreign countries, big government, big spending, government intervention in the economy, bailouts, etc; none of which can be remotely considered conservative.

I think Sept 11 should have been HIS moment. but his moment has passed. I voted Obama this time. More important than ideology is to periodically kick whichever party is in power out.
THIS McCain could have won this election. He sold his soul and he'll have to live with that forever. He'll go down in history as the ultimate politician, in the negative sense of the word.
And by the way, I bet your one of those smart historical people who help make history by helping to elect Bush. Oh yea, your a really smart guy. Maybe your should spend some time fixing your trailer.
Hey willfucker, the online names says alot about you. Like how ignorant you republicans are. Obama has always been a christian. and the only proof of muslim, is the word of an ignorant McCain. But what do I know. It's people like you who think that burning a cross is holy, so i guess your smarter, though fire represents the devil. So i guess your god jesus has a pitchfork and a tail.
Stop watching Foxnews. Their lies got you gassed up.
This is the real reason McCain will lose. Nothing to do with Obama, but the simple fact that McCain has sold out his values to Rick Davis and the neocon machine.
Obama is closer to Jesus's skin color than the 43 Presidents before him. Too bad Christians are often to ignorant and racist to acknowledge that. With that said, that alone doesn't qualify him to be President. The fact that he is more in touch with the change that America needs is what qualifies him. As for Sarah Palin, she should be seen and not heard.
im not racist and im a christian, i dont care what race jesus was, i cared and do care about his person, that goes for anybody else, its not about race its about the character, but yur right though alotta people r "christians" and still r racist, that pisses me off
In America, Barack Obama doesnt stand a chance for one central reason. RACISM. There is no possible way America, being one of the most racist countries in the world, will vote in a black president.
you aren't from america, how do you know? I live here, this is my country, I talk with people of different races all the time...from what i hear there are racial tensions in canada b/t native americans and the average canadian? By the way, did you know Obama is leading in the polls right now against Mccain and he already beat all of the white canidates in the democrat primary?
If there is a surplus, there is no debt to pay down. I liked McCain back in 2000, because Gore had Lieberman, and Bush was the son of another President I didn't like. Since Bush beat McCain, I voted for Nader. I am going to vote for Obama, but I'm not so sure how I feel about Bidden. As for Sarah Palin, beautiful woman. She should be seen and not heard.
In 2000 Bush ran a nasty campaign against McCain in 2000 in South Carolina was that his adopted Bangladeshi daughter was actually black, that McCain was both gay and cheated on his wife, and that his wife Cindy was a drug addict."
Bush's supporters questioned McCain's fitness for the White House, suggesting that his five years as a POW in Vietnam drove him insane at the time." Rove Suggests McCain Committed Treason and Fathered Child With Black Prostitute.
Anyone who tells you that they'll always tell you the truth no matter what is usually the biggest liar. Mccain is playing the "i don't lie, i am just not intelligent" card.
wow flip flopper mccain, talking about those tax cuts he was against when he was just a senate now running for president again i guess he firgure to be a true republican u must go with tax cuts for the rich, wow mccain a really zero"vote obama
McCain broke the agreement before Obama. Obama backed out of the deal because McCain had already spent millions of his donation dollars on General Election campaign expenses. Obama simply refused to stand for that. McCain is now paying for his own actions and poor judgment.
I dont think people understand the public financing systems purpose. It is to provide equality in campaign finance to the candidates. Also, seeing as how Obama agreed to use the public finance and seeing as how he was a big proponent of it, it doesn't make much sense that he wouldn't use it. He should have donated the money he had gotten from the primary and donated it to a bunch of charities. That would have won him the election easy.
Do you ever wonder why so many people are supporting Barack Obama? Could it be that this nation is becoming colorblind and does not care if a good person is black, white, red or tan? Could it be that the American people remember Bush and McCain looking into our eyes And saying, believe me there are weapons of mass destruction? Could it be that the American people are shell shocked that over 4,000 precious lives have been lost fighting the wrong war in the wrong country against the wrong enemy?
McCain can't possibly rely on Bush for "fund raising". The RNC is going to back McCain no matter what, and the donations to the RNC are usually from large companies and that is why the RNC usually will carry more cash on had than the DNC. (usually substantially more)
What spewed out of your sewer just now makes absolutely no sense. You don't back anything up with facts. McCain is going to be a great corageous and honest president.
Made sense to me, if you kept up with all the things McCain talks about for the past year, he flip flops alot. He doesnt seem 'conservative' at all. Check the videos on "The Real McCain".
1 honest principled Vote for a Genuine Brilliant Statesman like KEYES is worth far more in terms of truly changing this Country for the better, than 1,000 votes for a Total Liberal Fraud like Mccain.
No more lesser of 2 evils Nonsense ! its time for real change, If you admire this Mans Mssg. go on his website and help out with the effort to get him on the Ballot to let All Americans know they do indeed have a Another choice

If those gas prices were still around 99 cents this all wouldent be happening. Everything is going up in price. Thats why we have all the worry and complaining.
Wow! Now Bush and McCain are standing shoulder to shoulder. Did anyone see Bush's official backing of McCain? Politicians are comedians 'cause the shit they do and say are SOOOOO fuckin' funny. One head two mouths.
Beware of those who promise to "tell the truth no matter what". It's like Clinton when he told the media, He has "never told a lie." McCain would make a disaster of a president. Vote for the only Candidate whose words and voting record match.
As a former supporter of this man, and an Arizona native and current resident, I am ashamed of this man. His popularity in Arizona is plummeting, because he does not tell the truth. He is a liar....
You can't have tax cuts, increased spending, and paying off debt, unless you substantially decreased the tax cuts Bush was offering. Sounds like more big governement thinking to me. Hes just another liberal in war mongering conservative clothing.
I guess McCain has changed his mind about paying down the debt. He said Sunday,"It's a tough war we're in. It's not going to be over right away. There's going to be other wars. And right now—we're gonna have a lot of PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] to treat, my friends...We're gonna have a lot of combat wounds that have to do with these terrible explosive IEDs that inflict such severe wounds." God save us from this empire-building warmonger.
McCain might be a puppet but I can't stop wondering how different things would be if he was ever in the White House.

People's specific policies change evolve as they evolve, there is nothing wrong with that.
But there is no substantive difference between the McCain of 2000 to 1990 to 1980. But the McCain of 2008 directly contradicts the McCain of 2000.
McCain used to be a Republican in the genuine tradition instead of the newer evangelical, anti-intellectual one.
McCain was a great American, but now he'll be remembered by many as the 2008 candidate who sold his soul to Karl Rove. Tragedy...

McCain 2000!
Let's go back in time and stop the robocall in SC and create an alternate universe. He would have been better than Gore or Bush
Now he's a shell of that man.

To think Eight years ago, John McCain criticized George W. Bush's politics and now he's using that kind of politics in his own campaign.
gurney50 3 years ago 7
This is the real reason McCain will lose. Nothing to do with Obama, but the simple fact that McCain has sold out his values to Rick Davis and the neocon machine.

McCain should have been President instead of Bush. We would be in so much better shape now.
It's funny how Obama has more in common with Bush. But Obama has a bigger ego than Bush and is more suborn.

I bet Jesus hates what the world has become thanks to these posh white men.
Obama-Biden 2008 because there has been 43 white presidents, surely it is time for a black one.
RJWooller 3 years ago
Obama is closer to Jesus's skin color than the 43 Presidents before him. Too bad Christians are often to ignorant and racist to acknowledge that. With that said, that alone doesn't qualify him to be President. The fact that he is more in touch with the change that America needs is what qualifies him. As for Sarah Palin, she should be seen and not heard.

DomDeVille 3 years ago 3
No, there is a debt.
Just not a deficit.
In 2000 we had a surplus but a large National Debt. We would have used it to pay down the debt.

Kind of strange. McCain compared Bush to Clinton back in 2008. Now Obama compares McCain to the Bush he faced in 2000.
Effective.
Obama hands down will win.
Watching the 2000 GOP convention in which Bush decried the failed policies of Clinton to the needs of the people. Bush failed.
Now in 2008, if Obama should happen to win, let's not repeat the Bush mantra.
McCain is going to lose, twice.
The people were covering Bush, cause they knew he was the one. Obama is now the choice of the USA.

McCain broke the agreement before Obama. Obama backed out of the deal because McCain had already spent millions of his donation dollars on General Election campaign expenses. Obama simply refused to stand for that. McCain is now paying for his own actions and poor judgment.
Pirwzwhomper 3 years ago 3
Which is why Obama opted out of the public finance system to instead have a campaign truly funded by the american people.
Calsonic66 3 years ago 2
I dont think people understand the public financing systems purpose. It is to provide equality in campaign finance to the candidates. Also, seeing as how Obama agreed to use the public finance and seeing as how he was a big proponent of it, it doesn't make much sense that he wouldn't use it. He should have donated the money he had gotten from the primary and donated it to a bunch of charities. That would have won him the election easy.
tedfreeway 3 years ago
Do you ever wonder why so many people are supporting Barack Obama? Could it be that this nation is becoming colorblind and does not care if a good person is black, white, red or tan? Could it be that the American people remember Bush and McCain looking into our eyes And saying, believe me there are weapons of mass destruction? Could it be that the American people are shell shocked that over 4,000 precious lives have been lost fighting the wrong war in the wrong country against the wrong enemy?
Kwaayesnama 3 years ago 3
McCain is now asskissing up to Bush because he needs him to help with fund raising.
In 2000, McCain stood for something, now he's just a sad old man doing and saying whatever to win a vote.
He's went from save the earth, to lets drill Alaska. To calling churches oppressors to doing anything to get the christian right to accept him.
What we see of him now is a total fraud.
Abasuto 3 years ago 3
McCain can't possibly rely on Bush for "fund raising". The RNC is going to back McCain no matter what, and the donations to the RNC are usually from large companies and that is why the RNC usually will carry more cash on had than the DNC. (usually substantially more)

You can't have tax cuts, increased spending, and paying off debt, unless you substantially decreased the tax cuts Bush was offering. Sounds like more big governement thinking to me. Hes just another liberal in war mongering conservative clothing.
wandtkeworld 4 years ago 5
I guess McCain has changed his mind about paying down the debt. He said Sunday,"It's a tough war we're in. It's not going to be over right away. There's going to be other wars. And right now—we're gonna have a lot of PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] to treat, my friends...We're gonna have a lot of combat wounds that have to do with these terrible explosive IEDs that inflict such severe wounds." God save us from this empire-building warmonger.
