I had a wolfhound who was a lap dog, but she liked to put her entire huge self on my lap when I sat on a park bench in Central Park.  People would walk by and see this humongous dog sitting up on a park bench and a pair of human legs sticking out beneath her. The rest of me was hidden by her. She insisted on doing this at least once every day before we left the park, so over the years, she caused a number of near-accidents between park maintenance

and park patrol vehicles.

i had a black lab/irish wolfhound... she was such a good dog!! <3 its a shame she had to die though :( but theyre so loyal!! <3

One of the sweetest natured dogs ever! I guess cause of their size they don't need to be overly vicious to protect themselves. My friend Kyle has a big girl wolfhound and she always wants cuddles :) (even if she knocks the wind outta me whenever she jumps up to get them)

I miss my wolfhound Tank alot... The wife had a job for a while, and with both of us gone, it was almost cruel to keep him inside so much. We couldn't tie him up outside, because we needed a dog house, but the community standards where I live don't allow dog houses..... Most loyal dog ever! And mine wasn't shy around strangers either (RUN MAILMAN, RUN!!!)

No, the fact is that if you allow the puppy to sit on your lap the grown dog will do as well as it's still the same animal and negative training is not forgotten when the dog enters his adult live.
