Back in the day, matches like this (top good guy wrestler vs another top good guy wrestler) as a main event were unthinkable. Nowadays, it's so much more common that fans take it for granted.

On the other hand, if I had to venture a guess as to which face vs face main event had the same feeling and aura to it as Hogan vs Warrior, I would probably say Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at the past two Wrestlemanias.

I can't tell you how jacked I was for this match. This might be my favorite Mania main event ever just because of the build up & the excitement going into the match. It also didn't hurt that I loved Hogan back in the day & just HATED Warrior, but both of them were faces, so it was an odd situation that was completely fresh to wrestling at the time.

Whatever people say about Hulk and UW this match is unbelievable. In Hulks autobiography he said that UW was impossible to work with but the match is still brilliant. The buildup, atmosphere and everything about this match was superb.

Got to remember also that Hart didn't really make a jump to the big times though until he beat Piper at Wrestlemania 8. that let him get credibility to win the heavyweight title and then headline Wrestlemania 9. What a tragedy that Ultimate Warrior had to win this match. WWE was in hopes of passing on the torch to this guy yet, he never accomplished anything. What a waste of a match but, I guess even the greatest of legends like Hulk Hogan had to lose sometimes. Still a waste of a match though --- Should have been Hogan that won and everyone knows it to.
