I bet 99% of America can identify with Harvey. I know I do. I have a pretty short fuse, and a lot of little things tend to piss me off. This along with almost the movie definitely struck a chord for me. In fact I actually do have women from my family that are like this. Someone from my family converted from Judaism to Catholicism, but the stereotypical Jewish neuroticism is still present--Catholic guilt maybe? My mother is exactly like this in any situation.

I work in a Hotel and I remember one of my best tips was from a Jewish man. His family was going on a cruize so they brought enough close for 7 days not to have to spend money washing any but he gave me a $25 tip for not doing to much other then talking to them. Also not sure he was a Jew but he was from Brooklyn or somewhere in New York and he looked Jewish from what I could tell.

I've LIVED THIS, running to a local food store on my lunch break and my heart sinking if I see the senior citizen bus has gotten there first. In my case it was the express line and I was behind a woman attempting to save 25 cents on a pie which wasn't part of the sale because the sale sign was near this pie. 3 times the manager explained to her it wasn't on sale, but no luck. I'd just pulled 25 cents out of my pocket and was about to hand it to her when the manager let her have the sale price.

As a Jew, I find that even though Jews create such videos, it is only adding to the "cheap Jew" stereotyping and is very self deprecating. LOL. My husband's family is Jewish. They're really great people, but going out to a restaurant with them is excruciating on so many levels. I don't attribute it to their Jewishness, but my husband does. This kind of reminds me of him.

It would be a lot to get into in a post. I think my husband just feels (as do I to a certain point) that for them going to a restaurant is an occasion to seek out as many imperfections as possible. Being able to "kvetch" about stuff makes them feel good. Like they derive a sense of superiority or something. My big issue is that they can be very disorganized, constantly ask for substitutions, don't realize that the waiter has other tables to attend to, and generally tip poorly. It's embarrassing.

@SylvanaForrester: I'm in the catering business here in NYC and I can not tell you how many women like this I have to deal with. I worked at a place that posted upcoming weddings near the punchclock. Employees would sign up for the shifts they wanted. Everyone would first look at the names of the people getting married. A Kaufman/Goldberg wedding would have no signatures. A Kelly/ O'Brien wedding would have literally every employees signature. Jews under 50 are fine. Over 50 watch out.
