  • Hi Brandon.

    Thanks again for your channel.

Actually helps me a lot, and now with this video.

I ll follow your advices as new line from today.

    Best and stay bigger..!

  • @senesio Thanks for the response. Glad to help.

  • @SessanDydland Ah luckily for me I don't get insomnia that much, but when I do it's awful I can only imagine!

  • I know this is ment for men (im a 21 one year old girl) but somehow i stumbled over your channel and i really like it! You have some really good tips (obviously not everything fits for me) and when the advice is not for me i just like listening to you!

  • @Nuenna90 Thanks, very appreciated!

  • i seel 5-6 hours at night and feel great

  • @UpalKashey You're lucky! I'm usually good with 6-7

  • @CampbellFitness I hate how I need a full 8 of quality sleep otherwise I'm definitely tired the next day.

  • @presatito That's got to be tough in some cases. Luckily I don't need that much.

  • Just subscribed. Sleeping is a big prob for me. I haven't had a decent nights sleep for nearly a year since me Mam passed away. I've been on sleeping tablets and they didn't work. I don't nod off during the day either. Will just have to get on with it.

    cheerio

  • @bertFX That's a tough situation for sure, I'm sorry to hear about that.

  • @CampbellFitness Ta for the reply. Just have to get on with it. There are people far worse off. I never really have needed a lot of sleep. Having said that I get, if I'm lucky 4 hours a night.

    Good channel BTW.

  • @bertFX I think you and I are similar in that aspect. I feel the same regardless of how much sleep I get. Thanks for the sub!

  • Hey Im a new subscriber. Can u please make a video with ur shirt off. Thanks!!

  • @Gemsoulful I have some like that, in some of my other vids!

  • @CampbellFitness Oh Thanks.. I'll have to check.. ;)

  • such a great channeil man !!! just discovered it.. im fan... SUSCRIBED !!

  • @cedbotelho Thanks for the sub, appreciate it!

  • I actually thought about flashlight too because the whole light in the bathroom wakes me up.. going to get battery for my old flashlight :P Thnx for upload !

  • @RiseofBane You can always use your phone!

  • @CampbellFitness my phone is flipping type, old ass Samsung phone and light becomes weak after like 5 seconds, and the phone is kinda huge so I tend to drop a lot :D

  • flash light near your bed... spy mode ON!

  • @bigzaqui Ha yeah I guess you can always invest in some night vision goggles too!

  • Another great video keep it up buddy

  • @Disturbed420420 Thanks!

  • Hey campbell, can you make a video about injuries? I injured my glute, I think its torn (deadlift overexertion, went beyond my max) =[ It's been 1 month since my glute injury and I see no improvement despite the fact im getting physical therapy and messages on it 2-3 times a week... I doubt its a grade 3 strain, most likely a 1. I'm getting a scan I think an MRI one today or next week.. Can you help me in any way with your knowledge?

  • @SmexyPC I'll see if I can do one on injuries down the road. When it gets to the point where there's that much damage then I think it's usually best left up to a professional/your doctor.

  • i work the night shifts will that throw me off even though i still sleep 7-8 hours per day?? please respond . thank you

  • @vmeister01 As long as you're consistent with your sleep cycles you'll be good to go! I'm not trying to say you can't see gains if your sleep is off, I'm trying to say you might not be seeing as many gains.

  • when i nap in school i get yelled at

  • @rockonhockey Haha good point

  • Oh the irony I've had nearly no sleep this week due to college and work. Still got more nights to go of sleeplessness...

  • @evanid321 Ah bummer, it can be tough with a full workload. Been there, done that!

  • You are a Guru..great vid Brandon.

  • @LawlessRazor Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • Watching this at 6 AM, and no its not an early morning, no sleep yet :(. But I can sleep in tomorrow :)!

  • @danielnator Damn why are you still up?!

  • haha .."or for sex"...that was funny....i didnt expect you throw that in there....but i guess you took everything into consideration huh

  • @olinblockedme Got to find a sliver lining on everything!

  • Cool. I didn't think about the affects of light on the circadian rhythm. Great advice.

  • @TheNubbbler Thanks for taking the time to respond.

  • Your voice alone motivates me and makes me want to get my shit together. Its not monotone or condescending.

  • @Ohitsjustahobby Ha sometimes I get a little worked up. It's all about subject matter. Try getting in a conversation with me about Chinese foreign diplomacy and I'll show you monotone!

  • Nice vid brandon,Although idk i feel that sleep is overrated,Then again i was never on a perfect sleeping schedule

  • @NYbodybuilder10 I think it depends on the person. I saw great gains without much sleep, but at one point when I plateaued I got more focused on getting the proper rest and I was able to break through. This is just one of many things that people can look at if they're not seeing the gains they want.

  • @CampbellFitness Yea very true!

  • im in my nap season (school) haha good info B!

  • @blazersfan7 Thanks Jordan, glad to see you back in the game.

  • @CampbellFitness always in the game ;)

  • @blazersfan7 Ha play on playa!

  • Good info.

  • @ThePositiveAussie Thanks man!

  • ah good tips, im probably getting about 6 a night, i know it should be more,

  • @knightgabe But you're seeing great gains, so it might not be an issue for you!

  • @CampbellFitness we will see brother :)

  • Great info as always!

  • @CoachChazFitness Thanks man!

  • Great video.

But you mention that drinking alot of liquid before bedtime could be bad. I drink 0,5L weightgain product and 0,25L natural water. Is that why i cant fall asleep alot of times? I cant really pee before next morning though.

  • @chr0606 If you're not waking up and needing to pee I wouldn't worry about it!

  • Thanks for another Great Video!

  • @TheTarkinator Glad you liked it!

  • Great info, as a person who had horrible sleeping habits for years until about 6 months ago. I worked shift work for 16 years (I don't any more). I used to sleep with my tv on, watch tv in the bed, and go to bed at different times everyday. When I started doing nothing but sleeping and SEX in my bedroom, ive slept so much better and have had the most impressive gains from my workout than I've had in my life. Great Info my man.

    LSU FTW!!!

  • @tddcmptn Haha glad to hear you got that under control!

  • Dude... are you stalking me??? LOL About 90% of what you called out as things that hinder sleep... I do. Thanks again for an amazing vid!!!

  • @dhjtrue Ha you're a little far away for that. Sent out your shirt yesterday.

  • @CampbellFitness Thanks. Hopefully yours will get there this week.

  • Another great video, very helpfull

  • @ShadyK1ll3r Glad you got something out of it. Thanks for the comment

  • im gona take a nap now ;0

  • @AdR1aN43 Hah thatta boy!

  • @412Swaggin Ha i do the same thing but I'll usually dim the backlight on my laptop.

  • man reading a book at night is the best way ever to sleep no joke lol

  • @Cassify06 This is def true!

  • @MagicCroc Not directly. Caffeine, if used correctly can help with energy and what not, but used too much it can cause nausea, paranoia and withdrawals. I have been meaning to do a video on this subject.

  • im a beast.. hence i do not sleep..:P

great video again brandon keep up the good work!

  • @MadeOfAdamantium Haha beasts do their best hunting at night.

  • Great vid! Awesome vid not only for bodybuilding but for people in general! Filled with great advice! thanks bro! p.s. we should train together someday we don't live too far apart ... let me know if you want to set something up down the road

  • @monstarfitness Thanks Kyle. I think we can def arrange that.

  • @CampbellFitness sweet man! I look forward to it!

  • nice shirt brandon...where can we order?

  • @heyjeph Message me directly if you'd like.

  • During college days I get about 6-7 hours a day. I'm sleepy everyday I wake up. Then come friday night I'll sleep 10 hours to make up time I lose during college. I'll make sure I get a couple of naps every now and then. Thanks for the advice!

Finally I have a video up. It's not the motivation video but that'll come next.

    Cheers

    Harry

  • @RevitaliseTV Awesome harry, going to check out the video now!

  • I watched this with the speakers on and my missus heard "Do the dishes"!!! Im never gona live this down...... lol, good tips, i get usually about 6-7 a night and it seems to work ok for me!

  • @ampa4president Mistakes People Make 12: Letting your missus hear me say do the dishes.

  • Mistakes People Make 12: Sex

Preferably not to have sex before a workout. Most of the time it makes you tired.

  • @Rand0911 Interesting idea!

  • dear Brandon, I need you to sit on my face! Oh and I will get some rest laying on my back with you sitting on my face!

  • @wph1138 Hah I don't think the logistics of that would work out too well.

  • I like to nap A LOT...but I will admit that I have a very poor respect for sleep in general and that's due to not being able to "unplug" as in internet, social networking sites, gaming consoles, etc. ...very informative vid as always dude and I will try to change the way I go about things however first I watch this vid on my iPad :D

  • @STARPHROST I agree. There are a lot of things to distract you from getting a good nights rest. I've been pretty consistent with when I go to bed and when I go up (regardless if there's a show or game I want to watch/play). I've gotten to the point that when it hits 10pm my body starts shutting down getting ready for sleep.

  • great video Brandon, keep it up, sleep is key and is plainly so important :)

    your boy, Will

  • @wmontano8 Thanks as always Will

  • Damn...now I can't sleep from being paranoid (so many things to know about sleep) about getting to sleep! LOL! I think you just about covered everything there is to know about sleep there Mister Brandon. Also.. who said one has to use the bed for sex? Maybe that issue could be covered in another video in mistakes people make 12? lol. Hope all is well with you.

  • @tomconjalka Hahaha great idea for #12.

  • crap!!

  • @MriBackup dookie!

  • what do you think about ISO 100 whey isolate protein? is it a lot more effective than Dymatize Elite and Gold Standard ?

  • @COD4fanboi At that point I think you're just splitting hairs. Are the few extra carbs and fats really going to hinder your daily macros? For me the answer is no. At this point I go with a brand/flavor that I know I like.

  • excellent video brandon. this is helpful info for anyone. i've read a few books on the subject of sleep and you nailed many of the major concepts on how to get better sleep and what affects it

  • @georgek7 Ah that's awesome. Any important stuff I missed?

  • good video bro!! sleep is very important.

  • @phillipparker88 I've never really been someone that requires a lot of sleep, but I've taken some steps to ensure I get at least 7 hours and it's really helped with my gains in the gym.

  • nice .

  • @Pokemonguy16RS Appreciate the response!

  • great subject, as always!

  • @bball11ho Thanks Mike

  • Sadly I get 4-6 hours during the week and my 7-9 hours during the weekend. Very good advice going to favorite this.

  • @Tom360degrees I know it's tough sometimes, thanks Tom!

  • Pro sleep tips. Takin some to heart for sure.

  • @Colyers Glad you found it useful. Thanks dude!

  • Good stuff. And you're at the buttcrack of 5,000 subs man, congrat's! ; )

  • @californiamusic Thanks dude, nice screen name, I was born out in CA!

  • i dont need a light in the middle of the night when i go to piss. i just stumble to the bathroom and try to hit to porcelaine :D

  • @thirdbreath Haha

  • Nice dude. Need some help here. I have trouble like serious trouble sleeping. It takes me forever to sleep after i lie in bed. Its bcse THINK TOO MUCH. Like what to do tmrw, what exercise, girls, the world all that shit. Like the other day i got in bed at 12am n mybe asleep at 2am n a short call came in 3 and i coudlt sleep for the rest of the day :((((( HELP

  • @acipshah That's me as well. Can't shut off my mind. I've tried GABA, Melatonin, and stacking them as well. Nothing works. I'm positive I'm hindering my gains from lack of sleep. I try to be in bed around 10pm ish, but I just can't fall asleep. It's aggravating.

  • @AnusOner Happens to me sometimes too when there's a lot going on.

  • @acipshah It's happened to me before too during high stress times. There are things you can do to relax your body as well. However if it's a persistent problem, then you might want to speak with your doctor about it.

  • Wow I'm watching this video and it's 11pm right now. Now my body thinks its still daytime -_- looks like i'll be changing that :)

  • @orochimaruisugly As long as you're getting a good amount of sleep, I wouldn't stress about it too much.

  • Nice shirt. I am surprised you didnt make a sleeveless shirt tho lol. Great video

  • @TheAverageguyfitness Hah yeah me too! Maybe I'll make a jersey at some point.

  • very helpful bro

  • @Maxcv1 Thanks dude, appreciated.

  • what if you work grave yard shift??

  • @kidbuu101 In that case I'd suggest manipulating your sleeping space as much as possible to "trick" your body. As long as you get a good amount of sleep you should be fine!

  • Something is different about this video.... wait its the shirt haha. Great vid bro.

  • @FitnessAngelo Hah back to the normal tanks and cut offs in the next one.

  • Hey brandon what are your thoughts about lifting heavy? All lifters must gain a threshold of core strength but do you think lifting heavy in a traditional pyramid rep scheme is overrated for non begin lifters? Aesthetics is a big reason I lift but not at the sacrifice of my health. Im thinking about cutting down on the heavy deads / squats / bench and focus on finding ways to stress my body with only moderate weight. Instead of 225 on my chest for 6 maybe keep things in the 10-15. Thx

  • @thegarbageman21 I think lifting heavy has it's place for sure. But for me personally, my best results come from alternating between heavy and lighter routines every 8-12 weeks.

  • Dam, im watching this video in my bed lol

  • @rampagetapout I do the same thing sometimes, I just make sure to dim the screen I'm watching on.

  • Damn great advice man I have noticed if I nap after 4pm I won't sleep at night so I cut that out thanx again bro

  • @johncena04red Yeah I def can't nap after 4 either.

  • I feel so bad at 2 30 am knowing i should be in bed and a video titled "Mistakes people make: Sleep" is in my subscriptions box... :(

  • @kratoslevit Hah these vids aren't meant to make you feel bad! They're just reasons why you might not be seeing the gains you want.

  • Nice vid, Brandon. Much appreciated \m/

  • @SlayingMinion Anytime!

  • Some very useful information dude. Thanks a lot!

  • @xMaNiiKx Sure thing, thanks for taking the time to respond.

  • @campbellfitness. No prob I have it on my phone so I get quick updates. Lol. Sweet shirt man! Ordering mine tomorrow! Im smaller than you so I was wondering what size u were wearing?

  • @lambo5277 This is an XL. they run small though!

  • you smoke weed? those tats are sick man and solid info

  • @legend2kill Not in a long time, just wasn't my thing. Thanks for the props on the tats and video dude.

  • Wow man, great video and great information. A lot more extensive than I expected and nailed every aspect of proper sleeping habits. A much overlooked topic in bodybuilding. Loved it!

  • @mattyfusaro Thanks for watching/commenting Matty.

  • so true man...i love hearing about all these people who bust their ass in the gym then go out partying till the bar closes at 4 am..only to take up at 6 to get up and do it again

  • @TheZolpy1016 Hah yeah the good old college life. Been there, done that. You can still see gains doing that, but you'd see even better ones by making better choices. Thanks for the reply Mike.

  • This bitch keeps saying "stay big" as it aint tough as hell -:(. JK but still is super tough time specially when ur a student. Greetings

  • @fagaaaa Ha yeah the student life is tough, it's all about finding ways to work with your schedule.

  • Thanks man this is really helpful , especially the Light portion. I never knew that Light plays such an impact in your sleeping patterns. I'll definitely be trying to make a steady regimen.

  • @Kr4zi4ur0mg Thanks for the response. These are just some tips if you find you don't get good sleep! If you're sleeping ok as it is, you can disregard!

  • @CampbellFitness so your not only a physical therapist but a sleep therapist, nutritionist, psychologist! Just curious, whats your sleeping schedule like? is sleeping at 3 am every night bad? i feel like i can't sleep at night...

  • @timmyyyful Most nights I'm in bed at 10am. On my lifting days I get up at 5am (so 7 hours there). On non lifting days I typically get up at 7am. Sleeping at 3am isn't bad as long as you're able to get enough sleep throughout the course of the night.

  • solid info. something i definitely will apply

  • @lambo5277 First response! Thanks!
