  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • What if the question is like: 3+7+11... +455?

  • Because of you, I will not be failing my SAT IIs this weekend <3

  • @devikastar1 good luck!! : )

  • took my math teacher 25 mins to fail at teaching this. took you 10 mins to do it right, not to mention you come with a pause and rewind option. Pat> my school teachers

  • Hey Pat is it possible to find the sum to infinity of a diverging arithmetic series?

  • @fifa08ronaldhino not that i am aware of : )

  • thank you so much! I had to double check before I take the finals today. I have it in about 6hours from now

  • Thanks for the help, walking through the process helps to illustrate the fundamental ideas behind the function.

  • If the other equation is used, i noticed that the n value would be 18 and not 28. Why is that?

  • can you show how to find the sum of a finite geometric sequence?

  • @Truwarier14 pretty sure i have a video on it

  • do u have any videos for infinite?

  • @PeterKang1284 an infinite arithmetic series would not have a finite value.

  • do you have a video in which you use the other equation?

  • at 2:29 how you know which formula to choose, please help

  • just started a level maths and im feeling down because i'm not really struggling, especially with this question: A= -12 L= 40 and the Sn = 196, its says find number of terms and difference.

    Thanks if you could help me at all i would appreciate it muchly i looked at answer but didnt have a clue how to get it

  • This is not a FINITE sequence... Finite means it has a last term..

  • @placky123 wow, just wow....

  • @patrickJMT I wonder how he found your video lol.

  • @ry7ky hahaha i sometimes wonder : )

  • thx. the videos were good and i had enough time to watch family guy and pass my test lol

  • hey guys.. does anyone know what is the solution for this.. i dont need the answer just the sloution

    Find the sum of the series 91+85+79+73+. . . . . + (-29).

  • Thank you so much that was great!

  • thank you your videos are the only thing that are keeping me from failing please dont stop i nneeeeeeed these videos

  • how do you work out the formula?

  • I have a question, what if the question in -100 to 30? How would I solve that?

  • what happens if say the question was :

    find the sum of the numbers in the sequence between 10 to 100 (it's not terms and has no further info)

  • Thank you so so much for this!

  • Ok so i'm not really getting were the Divide by 2 comes in for your equations. When i did the sum(Srs() in my Ti83 I did get 155, but why would you put divide by two on your equations?

  • im a junior in high school and my honors Math Analysis(pre-calc) final is tomorrow and your videos have helped me alot thanks!

  • i really dont wanna retake this in college so im using ur videos to study for my precalculus final tomorrow lol......btw im a junior in high school so this is very helpfull

  • <3 the beer the commercials

  • did you divide by 2?

  • @xTanGOkiLleRx Ya i noticed that too. I did the sequence in my Ti83 and he just missed a step. But yes divide by two.

  • Thank you sir!

  • this is gonna sound really sad but I learn more from your videos than I do in lectures or tutorials......:/

  • Could you do an example by finding the sum of a series, when the series is in summation notation form

  • Could i request a Video?

  • @dsmhhhx What if the N - Upper limit, was infinite?

  • Aaaaah I think I love you! Hello A!

  • Do you have a video explaining how to find the sum of a taylor series? The question is asking to find the sum of the series (2^(n+1)-1)(x^n) .

  • And to add on to that it was one that you had to know some basic calculus information

  • @patrickJMT they are so good, tht i just watched one about calculus you made and understood it, and im in acc. alg 2

  • All your vids are good

  • @Wolverines457 id like to think they are not all terrible : ) so thanks very much!

  • patrick you are one crazy boss

  • Thank you sir.

  • Would you by any chance have a video about Erlang B formula? Or if you know anything that explain it in context? thanks

  • oh look 4 dumb children who cant understand this AMAZING lesson

  • I've been getting it wrong where you pointed out with question b..makes sense now...thanks so much!

  • OMG....I get it now 0_0.

  • How do I go from some series of number to sigma notation? I'm pretty sure I've got it down but I just want to make sure.

  • What is they dont give how many terms you need to find? My sequence is just: 5+7+9+...+75. I have to find the sum of this and I have no idea of how to do it.

    Please help

  • the like the n(a1-an)/2 more

    it's faster

  • if you have a series that is "o-2-4-..." Do you do it in the same method?

  • Decent video. Audio quality could be a little better.

  • my teacher doesnt help me for shit. thanks man.

  • thank you so much .. for your videos.. my teacher can't teach this is way better

  • @V1Narcissus my pleasure

  • whats the difference between the two formulas?

  • Man I love you. I have a test in 4 hours and I'm studying my notes for this subject and my professor has me confused with this formula and the arithmetic formula. I already know how to do both but was confused about when and which problems to use them. lol

  • Man I wish my teacher was this easy to understand....

  • you can substitute (n-1) for "c"

  • what if you have a problem and you don't know the number of terms?

  • @HearTheBlue well, you would somehow have to be able to deduce the number of terms from the info given, otherwise i can not see how you would do it.

  • @patrickJMT Thanks I figured it out. and P.S. your videos have gotten me through algebra, just saying. :)

  • Why does math have to be so hard even if its the simplest LOOKING stuff? =/

  • great!!!

  • Around the last part, I started to lose how to do it? If the nth term was 18, and the formula was n-1 how does 18-1=10?! If you did explain it, I apologize. I'm just not good at math. :(

  • @epichariot If you are not capable of realize this sum 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9 .... 98+99

    this video explain you how to do it.

    More easy without algebraic expresion: For n=10 sum (9+1)+(8+2)+(7+3)+(6+4)+5=45 <==[cheat: 4*10+10/2 <==(n/2-1)*n+n/2 ]

    45==1/2*(10*(10-1)) <=> 1/2*(n(n-1)) <-- this for teacher

  • what if you arent given the nth term you are looking for.. instead you are given a number... for example

    Find the sum of the arithmetic series..

    17+27+37+...+417 ?

  • @mikeymeb use Sn=n/2 [2a+(n-1)d]

    d=10

    a=17

    n=number of terms

  • @oneshot1326 haha my bad use

    Sn=n/2(a1+an)

    n = number of terms

    a1=17

    an= 417

  • Thank you my book is horrible and has no explanations I guess we "should know how to do this?" haha thanks for the great video and great explanations

  • I understand math in English more than i do in my own language:P

  • ME2

    it's like an English thing

    i learn in maths in mandarin(sort of chinese)

    my teacher just goes on and on

    even if i listen to him on lessons

    i still cant have a full picture of what ive just been taught

  • Always great!!

  • You're so smart! I <3 smart men!!!

    Where can I buy one? lol =D

  • ebay duuuh -.-

  • @ap2012 Craigslist, They are used though.

  • Haha!

    =)

  • @ap2012

  • cool video
