Wrote music, sang lead, led a band, led another band to international fame (say what you want but hide I believe was the driving force behind X Japan)produced his own songs,his own label, played with three different bands,four if you count the girl band he sat in with, Was a bone marrow donor, took care of a little girl who was dying, loved his fans, I mean what couldn't he do. I've listened to X Japan since I was 12. I'm 21 now, and in all these years of changing musical tastes, X Japan has remained my favorite. I'm so thrilled that they're back. I can admit, at first when I heard they were back together, I refused to listen to anything they did because to me, it wouldn't be the same without hide. But after seeing them perform at Lollapalooza, I'm reminded of his spirit and the absolute life that he always exuded. That kind of spirit is what I live for now.

@ttylb4two I can probably say this with great confidence... But Hide is a jack-of-all-trades musician. Watch his Rocket Dive (vocalist), he's piddled with drums, but could not headline with his drumming. I think he is a pianist. I know he loves those signature axes, and they have a lot of built in tone and modulation electronics even before it comes out the output. that and the tone of those axes were his trademark. Don't compare. He's Great at the axe, but he IS a jack of all trades too.

You can tell in his songs/solos that their is soo much passion & love in each note that he loved what he did and loved and appreciated his fans to care enough to make such beautiful music.
