Actually i think it definitely has that "Back 2 Life-esque", early 90's sound a lot of rap and r&b had from 1990-1994. Though, we started hearing this sound around 1988, but it still had elements of the 80's in it, like a distinct 80's style bass, or a synth stuck in there somewhere. This song, among others like it really mark the period when the 90's were becoming the "90's", as we were breaking away from certain 80's sounds and trends in music and fashion.

Way back... about 15-16 years ago, I was so happy to see that he was having a concert in Jamaica at Samsara.  I just happened to be there!!! I got there at about 9:00, figuring that the concert would start at about 10:00. Well, it started only at 12:00!!! Anyways...
