  • what an uninspired shit!

    my god!

  • It sound great!!! I wish you had at leas 30 seconds of each part. The pace it's a little too hyper for me. Also because I'm studying Classical I like to watch the fingerings and general technic.

  • Fantastic. I like it.

  • hi jason, well i was looking for a video of that "amati" bass and there you were. what fun. so how was it to play?? -- justin

  • I liked it. Thank you.

  • Dear Jason, if you like I give the address of our italian doublebassist Dragottesini.

    Now we know who is!

  • I think is stupid and unfair, like you do, talk bad about foreigners in italians forums, but in those internationals you are not able to say the same ethier for italians or foreigners... why do you behave like this? Answer, but clear!

  • just 3 names from bad italians bassplayers..why can't you say that here if in italians boards you say to much shit about foreings bassplayers??

  • ... Play-Cam(.COM) ... brtclju Webcam Chat on there is so cool, i met my BF there lol x

  • Excellent playing, although it's almost all way up high on the bass...did you use a high C string? It looked that way. Very close intonation. I play fretless electric professionally.

  • ur pretty good compared to me i suck at it a lil but my orchestra teacher dont want me toleave. iwanna go to band instead :(

  • very very nice very talented bass player..by the way.. your pianist looks hot!.. he,he,he.

  • Hey Jason,

If you know more about Mr. Tuneh's Rococo video, it is in youtube, do you think that you can get more from this video and then post it?

    (like your playing!!)

  • Turn that pianist down, she's disrespecting the bass

    =P

  • just like most pianists!! they hardly realize they're accompanying.. they even may tell you how to play or sing or correct something they don't know anything about!!!

  • Maestro Jason,

you play very and very well, but your blog on doble bass is unique on the Web "doublebassblog" (I can't write the URL)

Thanks a lot for both things. Here I've listened to your other pieces and you play in a very nice way.

    With esteem.

  • omg.. what are you playing?

  • I liked your Hindemith..

  • the intermezzo is beautiful

  • What is the first piece that was played? It's great!

  • Amazing solo bass! The harmonics ring forever on it, and the fingerboard is extremly thick. I've played it twice.

  • I was able to play on this bass at the ASTA convention a few weeks ago, and I love it! The design on the tailpiece is nice, too.

  • BRAVO, Jason!

But you know it's not an Amati but surely a french liuther instrument bought by Kousevvitzky. Then Olga gave it to Gary Karr as a gift. There are scientific studies which have demostrated it.Amati or not, It's a very good instrument and in my opinion Gary Karr remains a GENIUS.

    Very Good performance!

  • I like you.

I play double bass as well.<3

  • The Gliere and Koussevitzky pieces are phoenominal. You're an excellent bassist! I played the bass this summer and it's amazing.

its really small bass but it can sing!!!!

  • nicely played. you sound like i cello there in the upper register. also i see your using french bow

  • that bass is a beauty!

  • congratulations!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • lovely. The Gliere pieces don't get played near often enough - and so beautifully! btw, nice axe ;)

  • when did he stop owning it?

  • nice bass, nice sound

  • This is the Amati formerly owned by Gary Karr. I got a chance to do a recital on it in June of 2006, and it was a very interesting experience. This is a fairly challenging bass to play even though it is a small instrument. Thanks for the views, and thanks for checking out my double bass blog!

  • WOW, is that really "the amati"? Sounds great, and I'm pretty sure your blog is addictive.

  • Jason

Excellent video. You sound really warm and focused throughout the entire recital. Kudos.
