Thank you, Becca. Please let them know there's a "Dayenu!" haggadah, too, so they can hold a similar, music-filled seder at their home. And Happy Chanukah to you, too! Thanks for having found my "Happy Hanukkah" video.
Thanks for visiting my website. I find it fascinating how people from around the world happen to find out about my videos and my music. As I'm sure you noticed, I compose both Jewish music and secular music, but there are some recurring themes. My latest project is an ecumenical lullabye picture book which I'm almost certain you'll enjoy. Text and illustrations are completed; now I just need to find an interested publisher!
So glad you see the teaching potential of the video.
My haggadah, on which the video was based, was published in Jan. 2009. (We used a prepublication version at the seder shown in the video.) Pages 14-25 ("Telling the Story" and "Answering the Questions") could be used as a stand-alone Bible story picture book apart from a seder and the narrated CD that is available with it helps capture the fun of the all the songs.
Thanks - I had a look at your site. YOu are an interesting lady. I personally am a Christian, but I believe in giving children a rounded and diverse exposure to all religions, and for them to see the value of what different religions can teach us. I came across your video because I was looking up the song Dayenu - which teaches us to be satisfied with what God has given us and be grateful, rather than whine not having enough.
Carol, this is lovely. Well done. I love the Frog song and the Dayenu. As a teacher (elementary) - your little video would be good to give children an 'overview of Pesach' and would be a useful aid to explain to non-Jewish children what its all about. I love the cartoon picture of Moses in the 'swimming race'
It was my pleasure to both lead the seder and share some of it with you! In fact, I've been fascinated to see that the video has been viewed many times in Brazil.
Please stay in touch so I can let you know when the haggadah-and-CD become available later this fall!
