I mean I'd agree that a lot of the leaked demos aren't really up to SHTS caliber in my opinion. But they're just demos... they could've been fleshed out more. I've never thought most finch demos from the first two albums were very good but they always seemed to nail it down for the record. Mainly it's just time-signature related stuff though, if they changed it up a little more in that respect with these demos it could've been an awesome album.
