  • I need to know the specifications for a saving a file in Adobe Premiere Elements. My files are always too large for youtube...they take too long to load at points. Can you help or create a tuturial on this?

  • @TheOfficialJamieJay

Well, if you have adobe premiere 7 or higher you can save as a swf right from the gecko. SWF are much smaller file sizes and they dont need to be converted once uploaded to youtube. Mpegs and MOV's create fairly large files and this is typical. So ya, SWF is the way to go.

Click share -> online -> youtube then login. it will save as an swf then upload fairly quick. Btw, do you have dsl or cable and how big are these files your trying to upload?

  • @HilariousShortFilms I have DSL, I have a 6 minute long video, that takes me 6 hours to upload and is about 275 MB in size. I click share to Personal Computer and specify the dimensions such as 760x360 (something like that). I also save as an MPEG. You can choose other stuff like 30 kps from what I remember.

Do you have the option to share online? not personal computer. Really if you want a smaller file size youll have to give up some quality of the video. Try exporting to a smaller dimension.

  • hey. ive made 2 vids from this program but when i save i cant put them on youtube. they wont convert. help plz?

  • make sure your saving them to the mpeg format. Click export then look for mpeg 2

  • do you know how to make a background on this?

  • what do you mean? If you want like a picture to be a background then have something on top of it take and make ur background video one, then everything that goes on top of it video 2

  • ohhh thx so much... I can be such a dumbo :P lolz

  • yes i have that problem to

  • You seem to be an expert with Adobe Premiere. Question... I have a new camera that produces AVI files. When I import these files into my Premiere 3 the video jumps and flickers. This seems to be the only file type that does this. Do you have a fix for this problem?

  • Hmmm, well i have this exact same problem so what i do is convert these files to .mov or .mpg. To do this I import my avi files into Windows Movie Make then export as .mpg or .mov. Then when you open it in adobe premiere it works great.

  • Thank you for responding. I downloaded the trial of CS4 and it still can't handle the AVI format very well. Seems like they would fix the problem....

Your videos are well done. What format do you use for posting to YouTube? Also, do you use Premiere for your credits? If so, or no... how do you do those??

  • i used to use MPG but then i found that .Mov can save to the same or better quality then MPG. .MOV does two passes that makes it a smaller file. (My one video was 300 mbs and i got it down to like 50mbs)

For the credits i do use Preimere. When you go and type your text, in the box to the right theres a button that i think says animate, then you can select roll and it will make your text move up like that.

  • how do you get the yellow bubble around your arrow?

  • i use camtasia and if u go to tools then cursor, select highlight cursor. Camtasia is free for 30 days but 200 bucks to buy. Its good tho. I didnt buy it. i have a program that removed the files so i got it 2 times for free.

  • How can i get a simple object like a triangle to move around during the video? And does the lightning effect show up during the video?

  • Its hard to explain. Ill make you a separate video to show you how to make a triangle move. Yes the lighting does show up

  • thanks man, u give me an idea to start my project

  • you can do this for anything, movies, pictures, or if you have made animations. for making pictures go faster just go to your timeline and it will show you your video or picture. then just cursor over the end and drag. this will make your clip play for a shorter time. you can also click and drag the clip. Ill make a tutorial for this.

  • one question, can i use drawings or images to make animations in premier without having the animation made? i have premiere elements and i dont know how to set the timing so it will move faster...

  • U can use any file adobe premiere 3

supports. So yes you can use an image and make it move around the screen. Just keep in mind its not a image editor. What do u have in mind for an animation? Ill tell u if its possible. To make the timing faster i have a time stretch tutorial. U can click ur video in your time line and press ctrl-r. This will bring up a menu and u can change the speed there by using percents. If u just are changing the length of a picture just drag the end. It should turn red
