  • Wow props. This is really cool that you made this, I can't wait for the real movie

  • @billeysoAbby, well it is now haha Emma Watson is playing Sam ♥

  • I love the book because of the characters' depth(well most of em) and how all the events of the past kind of just came into one meeting point. The book has the feel and the depiction of high school and what fitting in is all about. You don't ever fit in, that's the point. You have your friends and you enjoy em.

  • As a bibliophile, I've read books by several of the authors that SpadeAndArcherBand says are deeper and more meaningful, and agree that those authors touch on things more universal and mature. As a wallflower, none have touched me as deeply nor been as meaningful as Perks, nor have ever made me feel infinite.

  • Sometimes i trow my poo on my neighbours lawn.

  • oh yeah the truck sam has is a pick up truck just saying

  • I don't his acting is that bad, guys.

  • @iibAnne I dont your English that bad either.

  • @FilmNitrate hahahahahaha, oh god. I wrote that? That had to be very, very late or very early. I commit grammar crime once in a while. I like to think of myself as a crimininal, it gives me a good image.

  • @iibAnne Haha, I couldn't resist. I'm also a victim of early morning or late night grammatical errors.

  • @FilmNitrate It's a hard life, buddy

  • god some of these people are so rude...

I give you props and its a great smiths song you chose to play :)

  • I just finished the book last night,.. Sooo good (: Logan Lerman's playing Charlie in the movie version!! Can't wait to see it

  • no

  • someone who know when the movie comes out? LOGAN LERMAN IS HOT! :D

  • @benedictebieber ikr logan lerman is the hottest and thee sexiest the song im sexay and i no it applies to him

  • This wasn't the best book i've ever read, but it was one of my top 5 and I have definitely read more than a few hundred in my lifetime..Maybe it isn't the pinnacle of good literature, but it has emotion and meaning in it. For me, that is the most important aspect of a good book, the fact that an author can capture emotion and put it into words, so you feel as if you are feeling everything the main character is. I guess it all comes down to a matter of taste. But that's my opinion(:

  • WOW!! I have nothing to say !!!

  • "I hate you" "I love you" ...that line. so good

  • You did a really good job! I like it! (:

And 'The perks of beeing a wallflower' was the best book i've ever read :)

  • I love the ending scene with the angle of the grass, I think it really goes with the tone of the book. This is one of my favorite books ever!

  • This is the perfect location for this film

  • Perks of Being a Wallflower is a decent book. That said, the only people who think it's the greatest book they've ever read are not at all well-read (i.e. they read Twilight/hunger games or some other shit and then this book and, of course, think this book is better).

On a side note...the movie will probably suck. Logan Lerman (while he is sorta cute) cannot act, and Emma Watson can only act as Hermione. When she does other roles she still is stuck in the Hermione attitude.

  • @midnightwallflower What's wrong with that? People that read those books are fairly young. We aren't introduced to "good books", yet. But then again, maybe you're just some angry hipster.

  • This was an amazing book, im a bit skeptical about the movie though. Im just not sure it can capture the true feelings you pick up on in the book

  • This isn't the best book i've read, but its my favourite.

  • omg <3 i can't wait until the real trailer (no offense) and the real movie come out.

it was the best book i've ever read.

  • Maybe i should figure out what the books about first? LOL Better acting that us recreating the Outsiders, though I must say, our death scene was 100x better than theirs.

  • shes short!

  • @allytherasta

    asleep- the smiths

  • Can you please say name of the song?

  • @StarbucksMary

It's written up there... "asleep" by "the smiths"

  • @StarbucksMary Asleep- The Smiths

  • ...Are you sure you read the book?

  • logan lerman is playing him

  • this is pretty awful

    amazing song though

  • ...okay. i fucking love this book. but, why do they have to go on and Kill iit!?? is this for real?? mannnn just coz the "writers" are on strike doesnt mean they have to go on and fucking ruin the books!! Thats why their books!!!! for fucks sake! so people can make their own images in their head!!

  • Ok, the song "Great Romances of the 20th Century" would be great for a trailer of a true film adaptation of this book. Especially if, towards the end of the song they are flipping between black screen white print with "The perks of being ____" (Show dramatic sequence in movie) "The perks of being___" (Show....) and speed it up until it shows in black on white "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" with a little pencil flower shedding a leaf.

  • ...Fake

    lame

  • great job!!!

  • what do you think the theme of this book was, I can never really pinpoint it

  • Really? This is what you're going to waste your time doing? Don't disgrace the amazing book with horribly acted out, badly done videos.

  • I honestly hope this book never becomes a movie.

  • @BailleysoAbby If I'm not mistaken, the book is being adapted for the silver screen. The author himself is writing the script and directiing it, so maybe that's a good sign. The film won't stray too far from the book. I believe Logan Lerman is the only actor cast so far, as Charlie.

  • @BailleysoAbby Your wish was granted...wait...I mean...Nevermind...Your wish was blatantly ignored by Hollywood.

  • @BailleysoAbby too late for your suggestion :P logan lerman & emma watson are part of the cast

  • @BailleysoAbby too late, it already is

  • Really good effort for a "unprofessional" trailer. I'm so excited for the movie and hopefully they do a good job.

  • No offense, but I pictured Charlie to actually be more attractive, and to be shy and to have the voice of zac efron. and for his sister, to not have that weird voice. to sound more like rachel mcadams, otherwise, loved it.

  • Eh? The casting is horrible. The filming was ok but please. Did u even read the book?

  • @DivinitiTriniti

stop being so rude, im sure you couldn't do better.

    - everyone who's read it has probably gotten something different out of it. if you were to make a trailer of it, it would be different because you didn't see it with the same eyes as the person who made this video did. have an open mind to other peoples visions on the book.

  • how gay.

  • love the road scene...

  • Way better then what I coulda done haha:) Nice Effort.

  • terrible, terrible, terrible.

    2 points for effort though.

  • fucking trailer

  • Nice filmography. But I think the character choice could have been a tad better. and the setting doesn't fit the book. but at least you tried :)

  • this was absolutely awful. i wish people would stop making these because they're all horrible. by the way your acting sucks and you look nothing like how charlie is described.

  • is this book any good?

  • the book is amazing.

  • I'd like to see you do better, lol

  • your almost as gay as patrick....flamer

    -hey man, shutup!

  • I think you did a really good job on the trailer

but if I'm honest I don't think any film could do justice to the book

i think it would be a really bad idea if they made a film out of it because it would be commercialised and it wouldnt' be special anymore

  • You did a really good job :)

  • "Hope this doesn't suck"... lol?????

    Realy?..

  • 0:42 - 0:48 hahaha

  • i haven't found one of these videos i like yet.

    there not bad.

there just not like the book at all

  • Not bad. The acting's a bit off, but I liked it. I just finished reading the book. Good inspiration. I like it a lot.

  • Really bad acting, aside from that it was good.

  • that wasw really good :)

i tihnk if it were to be a movie

(and pardon me if it already is)

yous should be the ones making it :)

  • This was easily my favorite trailer enactment of "perks". Good job :D that made me smile! See? See it?

  • great book .. awful acting (im sorry)

  • the editing and music is good but the acting just...isn't. But I suppose its the best you could expect from youtube

  • i still say once again this is an amazing trailer of perks of

  • Hey buddy you and your friends suck at acting... seriously. Also you don't look anything like charlie... You just don't look young enough... or pathetic enough... you're just forcing it... I can tell.

  • A few hundred decent size books ( 200 pages +) mostly science fiction, this is the first book that i actually found meaning in

  • I KNOW! I think that's so ironic. The book with barely 200 pages held worlds more meaning than the books with 700 pages.

I love the perks of being a wallflower.

  • ayn rand, antoine de saint-exupery, tom robbins, kurt vonnegut, richard brautigan, jack kerouac, lawrence ferlenghetti, philip roth, william s. burroughs, j.d. salinger, franz kafka, leo tolstoy, daniel wallace, marcel proust, george orwell, all writers that have written something with ten times the depth and meaning that perks could ever have.

perks was great. but there is much much better

  • @SpadeAndArcherBand some books speak more to some then others. It's okay to have your opinion and I don't think people are saying that this is the only book they've found meaning in. Maybe it's the first book that really touched them, Maybe they haven't found any other book that has.

  • @SpadeAndArcherBand I second Ayn Rand and Kurt Vonnegut. Maybe The Giver by Lois Lowry? That's a GOOD one.

  • @SpadeAndArcherBand whoa! you can list a whole bunch of the highest rated(and some of those, the most over-rated) authors ever. if someone finds meaning in a book, or is comforted by the words of an author, good for them(and the author). also, rand has never written anything that I wouldn't use to start a fire.

  • @SpadeAndArcherBand I disagree. I've read a lot of those authors and I disagree. I was a wallflower and this is the first book that came anywhere close to an accurate picture of my high school experience. I think it's definitely for a certain type of reader, but it's the book which, in my opinion, comes the closest to real life out of all those that I've read.

  • that was really really good. thank you. :DDD

  • dude this is acutally the best perks of trailer ive seen on youtube...nice job

  • Wallflower was the best book i've ever read...

  • how many have you read?

  • same. it just has so much meaning and thought with it. it makes me cry thinking about it.

  • Making this into a movie would suck all the essence out of the movie no one is good enough to play charlie you can put that stuff into words maybe Jean-luc goodard could make a french version or kubrick could totally reiventit but i don't want a whole juno indie kimya dawson perks pkay ITS A MASTERPIECE LET IT BE PLEASE PEOPLE

  • haha calm down just needed a trailer for a film study final and thought that this would work considering we're teens and everyone knows this

and the perks of being a wallflower is far from a masterpiece, don't get me wrong, GREAT book but not a masterpiece on any level, the grapes of wrath, slaughter-house five, the catcher in the rye, atlas shrugged, the great gatsby, even cowgirls get the blues, on the road, now those are masterpieces! not the perks of being a wallflower

  • I disagree.

I think it is a masterpiece.

Matter of opinion, so its not really worth talking about, knowing youtube...

  • good point, it IS all opinion based

but i have found that people who dont read or keep there minds open will think that it is a masterpiece and people that do read think that it was descent. i read. it was descent. if you read and think its a masterpiece then good on yah. but i am not in agreement

  • Fair enough (:

  • @SpadeAndArcherBand this is a masterpeice. I read A LOT and I actually find most books are ruined because they cannot compare to this book. It's just so real and the feelings in it are captured so perfectly. It's the most honest thing i've read. I'm a little surprised someone would go to the trouble to make a trailer if the book is only "decent" :P but whatever.

  • @HannahTheBrave couldnt have said it better myself. but i mean u tired n i liked most parts of the trailer.

  • i read constantly and I think the book is excellent. Also, maybe YOU should read more often since you seem to have trouble spelling words like "decent"

  • Also I don't really get why you would go through the trouble of making a whole trailer based on this book if you think it is mediocre?

  • @jaysta5 i fully agree

  • The perks of being a wallflower would be an AMAZING movie!!!

  • Ha I love watching these and seeing everybody's different interpretations...even though none of them are anywhere near the way I'd do it.

  • wow, that was pretty good :) i love the bratty tone in the sisters voice

  • Well, I thought that you did a great job in every aspect except the acting. In the "He could have talked to me" you should have been 'out of it,' crying and screaming. I guess that's asking a little much, though. Anyway, over all, you did a good job.

  • well i appreciate the compliment, just to defend the acting, we did these shots within 2 hours under a lot of stress to get them done, so i have to say that i think these guys did a real good job considering the circumstances. but still, i appreciate the criticism and the compliment :]
