  • REAL 3D EFFECT = Camcorder equiped with 2-LENS , forget shoot 3D movies with 2 x 1 Lens Camcorders , each other camcorder have independent lens autofocus so it demand very long and hard work to shoot different scenes , at 2 meter , at 3 meter , at 100 meter it all time loose to adjust manualy the Focus for the TWO 1 Lens Camcorders and mix the two pictures it take 3 months to shoot 10 minutes of 3D perfect ( like AVATAR IT DOES 3 years to make ) Idea it to have 1 Camcorder with 2 Dual Lens !

  • Harry Potter is being converted in 3D, it wasn't shot in 3D

  • It's called cross-eyed 3D Illusion.

  • the website you found is a great way to save money from being tricked by fake 3d, but some stuff are wrong on it:

1.yogi bear is coming in 2010

2.transformers 3 is being shot in 3d. director michael bay said the news about converting it was fake, and he had a pic of an "sony pace" 3d camera in chicago

3.the creator forgot to add clash of the the titans 2 in 2012, which is being shot in 3d

    hope the guy sees this

  • Would you shoot a movie in Black and White and then colorize it? Fake 3D is not the same (and is not as good) as real 3D, it doesn't look right and it doesn't have the same impact on the brain as real 3D. Fake 3D movies should be clearly labeled so the movie going public knows what they are getting.

  • The problem is the incredible effort needed for a somewhat decent conversion (autoconversion are crap as is today). Most of the times even a huge effort isn't enough. Let's wait until the technique has developed but as is today conversions should stay outside the cinemas. I saw the converted clash of the titans and i personally never want to experience such thing in a cinema again.

If companies had to be honest about conversions then it's up to the consumers to choose what to see.

  • @Likay1 exactly. it would probably take months to a year of effort for myself to make a quality 2d->3d conversion if this video was shot in 3d. even if you had a horde of 2d->3d converters and a large budget and a lot of time it would still be either equal or worse quality when compared to original 3d. Original 3d is the best 3d.

  • Nightmare Before Christmas was a well done conversion and I was happy to pay money for it, but others like Alice in Wonderland made it feel like I was getting ripped off. Conversion has its place. For instance, broadcasts for 3d tvs will need more content, so it would be cool to convert the classics. And I do enjoyed seeing what youtubers do with conversion as well. But this stuff is free. If I have to fork out $12 - $20 for a movie, I want it to be true 3d!

  • yes well said - lets fight against all these faked 3D movies/video on YT !

  • Very well said, anyone who is still filming in 2D in 2010 and then afterwards does a shitty conversion to 3D should be shot.

  • Nailed it! Thumbs up!

Personally i don't think the developement should stop regarding conversions if there's a slight chance of seeing 2d movies in decent 3d in future. As is today conversions generally sucks (with a very few exceptions) and should never had been released. Great site btw! Faved!
