I have owned both, and i do have to say i like the evo launch, the Ls1 is the nastiness motor of them all. Take them to the track and put some slicks on the vette, there will be a different story. Sounds like the evo is running studder blocks and anti-lag, still dont mean shit. The vette will take it. and if not, put the same money in the vette as you do in the evo, in after markets, and you end up with a super street car. Is the evo have the 60trim set up, maybe E-85, & prob boosting 25-35psi?

the vette lost , cuz one thats an evo that is prolly not even stock , those things pushing more than 340 hp to all 4 wheels and it weights less than a Corvette, it does not matter whos got more cylinder, the guy with the best HP to weight ratio will win , also the advantage of 4 wheels being powered compared to two wheels. Both awsome cars , but also if thats a base c5 vette ofc it wont have any chance, C5s had an Ls1 that is prolly pushing around 330 to the wheels, ofc its going to lose.

i think this is a 1/4 ...and the point here is that an evo is a 5 seater family saloon with a boot with a 2litre engine producing just 300bhp. The vette is a 2 seater sports car with twice the number of cylinders and twice the power. The evo was a rally derived car which means its primary focus is the circuit not a drag strip. The vette on the other hand is basically a dragster with all the power it produces at the rear wheel and the fact that vettes arent good on the twisties

You are also failing to realize the difference between a V8 and a s2000 4 cylinder. The V8 makes torque at idle, and the torque curve is flat. They also make MORE torque at all RPM ranges, period. You also have to realize that 250 horsepower in a 4 liter engine will last longer than in a 2 liter engine, and be more reliable. If you want efficiency look at the 2000hp v8.

In one of the topgear videos JC explains how a corner entry speed for the TG test track is 65 for the Ferrari/lambos and the evo does it in a 100. Show me a corvette that does highspeed cornering with just 3 wheels on the road and one wheel floating above? Second the evo in your video example isn't the same generation as the one in this video. you'll have to first compare the vii to the c5. which has a difference of what like 30 seconds on nurburgring times? so comparing the correct cars on a course with 150+ turns... The vette still comes out on top on the circuit.

i'm going to have to disagree with you. Vettes can be bought at 18-22(max)k and are fairly decent cars. Now, I'm not saying Evo is bad, but seeing how this car relies fairly on its AWD system it doesn't make it the best. Second, i believe buying American parts are a little cheaper, but I'm not sure though. Both are great cars you can get at 18-24k and will drop again after this year.
