Cameras that shoot over 2000 FPS start around 25K under that you can get a low resolution camera that will do 1000 for around under 1K (Casio). There are some consumer cameras that will do 250FPS in great resolution for the price (Sony).

I'm wondering, is the strange colors from rescaling the videos to get HD, or is required by the camera or video editing because of brightness, contrast or anything.

If that's because of HD I'll go for HQ or original resolution. Just being picky, the videos are great anyway thou.

The short answer is yes... ;) Scaling does effect it an d it was shot with an older camera. and we adjusted the gama to brighten it and that shows any errors. Lots of issues to track.
