I don't see many references as to where it magically came from its just a matter of what we decide to have faith is true, and personally, i'd rather have faith in a "loving" God than green martians or casper.........the tiny point was that the supernatural exists, but like i can't prove any other theory, neither can i this one

The fact is, untill everything in the entire universe is KNOWN, everything we do know is just a theory, but some things are commonly accepted like that nature is matter and energy, and somethings dont add up like that there are such things as thinking attoms, this is not my only argument but a small point....that if concious is not matter or a sort of energy, then it must be supernatural, what the supernatural cause may be? as you've mentioned, no one knows

so asks your selves this, if there is no God then where did free will come from? the ability to make decisions and our concious? if there is no God then we are all just simply a bunch of matter put together that by chance evolved from single cells right? we are just biological super computers that simply interact with the matter and energy that surrounds us, so then....where the heck did we get the ability to think and have morals? a concious is not matter of any sort, so where did we get it?

so read your bibles before yall even start making assumptions or maybe some people are just to lazy or enjoy doing everything the bible says is a sin to put God in their lives that they cope with that reality by simply telling themselves there isnt a God so there fore they wont feel guilty of doing the things they do, scared to face God, or to find out if there is one, kinda like what i used to do when i was a kid, i wouldn't never ask that way i'd have the excuse to say oh sorry i didnt know..

God exists, but what the heck are people thinking that just because there is one that nothing is going to happen to us thats just the lazy idea of many! you say God doesnt exist? well lets say you believe for just a second that he does, then what the bible says is true and their is a devil! so what the bad things happening in the world are simply because most people give in to the temptation provided by the devil instead of seeking what God wants for us!

And how could we know that there is a God? You seem to be suggesting that he pops up every now and again to check things are going alright.

That doesn't mean there's such a thing as a God. Rather, what it tells me is that although the need for spirituality is somehow embedded and has a useful function in humanity, different gods and religions are just the way in which different people learnt to cope with this need and adapted it to local and historical circumstances

I like what Stephen Hawking said on the issue. It went something like "To say God created a universe with which he can't interevene is like saying he created a stone too heavy for himself to lift". In my opinion, no religious belief is truly reasonable; we all believe what suits our emotions and then wrap our reasons around it afterwards. The Bible says God is mysterious, and that's the only "fact" we can be 100% sure of - that we all know nothing, although that's not always nice to admit.

if there is a creator it probably couldn't give a toss about us. in the vast expance of space and time our entire history amounts to something that is completely unnoticeable. if it could all be taken into the context that we see it in then yes a creator would probably do something about it.

i'd rather believe that there was something after we died. its a much better idea than "rot in the ground".

It's not about what's appealing, it's about what seems logical to the individual. Does the idea of a paradise in the afterlife and a creator that made things for a purpose sound appealing to me? Yes. But, after years of thought and practice, does it seem logical and believable to me? No.

And many people believe in Hell, but still find it unappealing in every way.
