They used these in East Sussex til lately,
saw a very odd one in Brighton which looked as if their council's technical people might've made it themselves once!

The disadvantage of this design is the amount of time it takes them to tip compared to a conventional design.
I have been stuck behind them at London Waste for 20 minutes, when a conventional dustcart that pushes the load out takes half the time.

the suprising thing on this one is the strength of the "teeth" in combination with that snail shaped input.
you can feed this one with a 3-seat couch in one piece and it would make debris out of it.

As kewl as these trucks are - they're as thirsty as hell! When truck is 3/4 full you have to put brick under throttle to boost drum turning else it would simply stop!
