  • Nice.

  • Yet another money-saving improvement over the commercial counterparts.

  • Good work thx

Wood work by Jw has great wooden furniture

  • Good work thx

  • Good idea with the brushes. No offence but you can buy plastic featherboards quite cheaply from a company we have in the UK called Trend. The plastic is smoothe on the workpiece and you can vary the pressure on the workpiece without being so much that you stop the workpiece from moving.

  • Well done. I like that you pointed out the angle of the bristles and how to cut the brush to make use of the angles.

  • COOL! I love finding video's of people trying different stuff to try to make stuff easier and better. Check out my wooden monsters. HOme made machines that love to gobble up my work. Keep up the creativity. Making home made stuff is awesome. A good hobbie with lots of rewards

  • benefit with feather boards is the kick back prevention. Although the brushes will work fine for smaller size router tables, it will not work safely on larger ones.

All in all it is a neat idea.

  • @gorgeousdzastr That's exactly what I thought... seems like a good idea to help keep a piece tight so it doesn't chatter and get into trouble in the first place, but if there is a nail or resinous occlusion in the wood that causes the kickback I wonder how much protection those bristles would give if the sh* really hit the fan - particularly on a router with some power. I've seen big routers kick and they are not subtle.

  • I never thought of that . Good video

  • Great idea, I'll try it very soon! Thanks!

  • those might work good on a table saw as well. yes?

  • who`s heard this one ,,,, "good idea but we don`t have the time hurry up hurry up this job is over on hours"

  • I wish I had seen this useful video 20 years ago. Thanks.

  • sweet trick> i use a piece of cut cable to clean out inside threads (female), would be good holding power

  • Thank's for the tip. The way you have set-up the holddowns is nice too. More please.

  • that's quite a good idea

  • How did you attach the brush to the pieces you used to hold them? Are the glued on?

  • great idea.... in one pass i can make a part, and immediately clean my hand...

  • just building my own table and without ever seeing any kind of hold down device, i was thinkin of makin one, i might use this aprouch, thanks

  • Thanks for your tip! - would work well with moulding bits to form custom moulding

  • jdn, what kind of material are you using for the fence face??

    Thanks

  • that is a piece of plywood with formica on the face

  • I do agree this sounds like it will work. When I can in a while Ill try it out

    thanks

  • Fabuous idea. I am in. Thanks!
