  • 1:12 alright now stop, it's Adler time!

  • To all of you idiots who think that Chris uses triggers, why don't you meet him and ask him about his kit before you start ranting.

Don't hold strong opinions about stuff you don't know about.

  • @thedrummerkid88 They're just jealous bro xD

  • @thedrummerkid88 haha I actually don't give a fuck about this drummer, but I can't understand why there are people who say he uses triggers, I don't think he would need them, because he doesn't play so fast (at least in lamb of god songs) and it's not difficult to hit the bass drums strongly playing so slow. I am wondering what makes this drummer so special for lots of metalheads. I mean, he's good that's obvious, but, what does he have that makes him so "special"? just asking!

  • @cabratotal3 Watch the walk with me in hell dvd and the band will explain alot of things ay.. certainly he doesn't play really fast, which gets boring quickly anyway.. cause i mean who wants to hear a constant really fast double kick all song.. its the way he just throws himself into the songs, the way he times himself the way he thinks and composes everything, he mightnt be special to you, but he's definitely an insperation to me.. and im a guitarist and vocals..

  • @Wakattack94 I agree, but there are lots of ways to play fast, you can play fast and technical at the same time, what would make you a virtuous, what I don't think he is, That's what I meant, all my respects though!

  • @cabratotal3 The thing I like about Chris Adler is the way he adds grooves to a metal song. Nobody can groove like he can, not even Vinnie Paul.

  • @drumgroovy yea its awesome..

  • @cabratotal3 dude idk lol his drumming just mind fucks u.

  • This is my Favorite song by Lamb of God :)

  • I love his snare.

  • I wish I could do blast beats like that... IMA TRY!

  • and to think, he should be a bassist! hahaha

  • Chris Adler is the only drummer i seen that doesn't waste any unnecessarily movement or tricks in drumming, jz steady plain drumming with insane precision in his notes lol

  • @Zeroatz -Thomas Haake is pretty bad-ass too and minimizes his movements, though his drumming sounds as though he is physically going balls out.

  • 2 people dislike the fact that Chris Adler is better than them

  • @kshay003 I think everyone does

  • @XxTheBrokenOne777xX you sir are a genius for this :D

  • You lucky motherfucker.

  • awesome beard,

  • :19 "Alright stop...Adler time"

  • HE IS A FUCKING BEAST

  • ROCK ON!!

  • i can hear randy's screams in my heead!!! /m/,

  • THIS GUY IS SO GOOD IT HURTS..IT PHYSICALLY ACTUALLY HURTS!!!

  • should have turned up his kick triggers

  • @MaggotMuncher96 it's probs just the cam

  • @MaggotMuncher96 He doesn't use them. The house system was adjusted to maximize the bass. No portable devices could capture it.

  • @quikstang2 he must be using triggers theres no mic's on the kick drums. on his wikipeida page it says he uses triggers in his gear anyway

  • @metallicman711 There were mics in the kicks at the clinic.

  • @quikstang2 still dont see mics here, unless those wires go to mics inside the kick drums, although i thought that was from some trigger set-up

  • @metallicman711 They put Kelly Shu internal mic holders in the kicks. I was there (to video this) and have seen the set in person. Do you really need to keep doubting that there are mics being used when I've repeatedly said they were there? I've got no reason to lie about it, especially when you can see the mic cables in the video.

  • @MaggotMuncher96 Chris A. Does not use triggers .

    - Sigge.

  • @Siggedrummer he does in recording

  • @MaggotMuncher96 no from american gospel up to ashes he compressed the shit out of the kicks. Now he just sound replacing..

    -Sigge

  • @Siggedrummer he still uses triggers

  • @MaggotMuncher96 i try once more .. NO he does NOT use any kind of triggers.. Go see some videos here on youtube theres videos of hes live rack and there most definatly is not any modules for triggering.

Please get your facts straight before you start tossing them around :)

  • @Siggedrummer he uses mufflers and mufflers are triggers dip shit

  • @MaggotMuncher96 Why do you need to be so rude ?. I'll give you a quick lesson on what we are talking about here :).

Muffling af a bassdrum can be done in many ways mostly by putting a pillow, blanket. Inside the bassdrum to minimize the more boomy resonant sound.

Triggers is a piezo ( look up ddrum, Roland triggers ), that you put on your bassdrum, run a caple from the trigger to a drum module ( which plays a pre recorded drum sample ), and sends it to the PA. I should know, i use triggers:)

  • @Siggedrummer no shit dumb ass i use triggers too, im talking about his FLOOR TOMS AND BASS DRUMS! the god damn mufflers he uses have a sensor on them that are the same thing as fucking triggers

  • @MaggotMuncher96 Now again, why so rude ?. We are having a normal conversation. No need to be so rude :). Well if you are so sure of this then i would like to know where you have this information from ? :).

And as far as i can see he is micing the kicks :).

  • @Siggedrummer as to where i got the information, i asked him back stage at a concert

  • @MaggotMuncher96 Dude, chill out. There are no triggers on this kit in the video. There's no muffling either. That would defeat the purpose of Mapex and Aquarian sponsoring the clinic series. I talked to Chris after the clinic, I know the guys who set up the drums, and I saw/touched these same drums in the video.

  • @MaggotMuncher96 triggers are for those that suck

  • @drumboarder1 triggers are for those that want better sound quality

  • @MaggotMuncher96 no those are for those who can't play properly and require a machine to pick up on their hits whether they're soft or hard and play them as if they've all been hit perfectly, using sound samples from the electric brain.

  • @drumboarder1 triggers are run through a computer progam and even with mics, the sounds are replaced with a crystal clear and perfect sound, so basically the same thing as triggers, the only difference is that it enhances the sound of what the mics pick up, so either way its run through a computer and replaced with a different sound

  • @drumboarder1 Trigger sensitivity is normally set high to reduce the chance of double triggering. So no, they don't pick up soft hits. You wouldn't want to trigger your kick drum with the reverberation caused by the snare, would you? Also, because the sound is so clear, you have to be really precise with your drumming or everyone is going to hear the drummer fuck up. Triggers require precision drumming, not for 'those that suck'.

  • @MaggotMuncher96 dude, triggers are for fags who can't play double bass properly, basically lazy fuckers who can't be arsed to improve enough to play it without cheating

  • @HardcoreRunescaping How are triggers in anyway shape or form less technical or "cheating"? Your still hitting the bass drum with the same force but just not using the sound made by the bass drum. Using triggers or not does not make you a better or worse player. I also cannot keep a straight face while replying to a comment with a username like yours but it's probably a troll..

  • @36hunters Ahem, according to every single I drummer I know, including one who is a drum tutor at college, triggers are designed to insert a pre recorded bass drum sound to be played no matter how hard the pedal is hit, this means they can get away doing light as fuck taps with the intention of having a computer play the rest for them. Hence cheating.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping Yes, you can hit lighter but are going to sit and tell me when you are playing live that you're not going to hitting the shit of the pedals? Also 10 times out of 10 people who use triggers are experienced often professional drummers. If you still think triggers are cheating then I really do feel sorry for you.

  • @36hunters As I Lay Dying use triggers, Asking Alexandria use triggers, the drummers in each band don't play as many kick's as they're meant to for what sound is being produced. Case rests.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping The majority of Metal/core bands use triggers...

  • @HardcoreRunescaping I don't know about AA, but I've heard AILD go 240bpm with 16th note kicks. Let me break it down for you - that's pretty fucking fast. Without triggers, the kicks are going to sound muddy and droning... no matter how well you tune it. Also, most drummer fuse the trigger sample and the acoustic sound to get a natural tone with the punch of a trigger sample to dissect the kicks, giving definition. NOW case rests.

  • @drumgroovy My mate can go to 280 and he's 17... I know plenty of metal drummers who can get to 240 easily aha

  • @HardcoreRunescaping And your point is?

  • @HardcoreRunescaping Another disadvantage about triggers is that because the sample is so clear, if you mess up, everyone's going to hear it. So how is that cheating?

  • @HardcoreRunescaping Urm, no. Sensitivity can be set according to how hard you hit the drums. Now you're saying "but you can set it low and just tap at it". The problem with that is double triggering or xtalk situations, where even a slight reverberation could set it off. So it's a problem if it's set too low because a tom could set off a kick trigger. Sensitivity is normally pretty high, seeing as a drumkit is loud as shit.

  • @HardcoreRunescaping I guess you probably wouldn't know as you probably don't play drums or have no never used triggers before.

  • very good for a microsoft certified engineer :P

  • Holy shit........ !!!

  • Could anyone else hear Randy in their head? xD

  • @FakeMessiah94 holy shit your rite XD!

  • @FakeMessiah94 Of course!

  • gotta love the energy he makes u feel when he's playing!

  • I just found out I'm a migician! Wait for the video to load up to about 30 secs. Press 1 and POOF!! A ladder will appear next to Chris!!!!

  • \m/ LAMB OF GOSH \m/

  • No bass drum sound! I hate that!

  • This man is at the top of the list of reasons I play drums.

  • haha i think chris done got distracted by a squirrel at 0:14

  • @BigMetalHead90 hahahahahha!!!

  • @BigMetalHead90 LOL!!

  • i love when he rest his stick on the china in the beginning on every other beat to

    give the cymbal sustain

  • @SchecterDimondSeries i noticed that too..its like he went slo mo..very precise drummer.

  • @jonahbooc yeah lol he rules

  • 0:14-0:15 Chris: YAWN so boring... :)

  • Why no blasts with his left hand?

  • @D3m0nOfTh3Fall I would assume it's because he's actually left-handed and it could just be easier for him. :)

  • @D3m0nOfTh3Fall because he's left handed but plays right handed.

  • LOOOOOOOVE WHEN HE SWITCHES TO CHINA CYMBAL!!

  • AMAZING drummer! One of my favs!!..This clinic was sick I went to the one in Bellevue Wa.
