@thedrummerkid88 haha I actually don't give a fuck about this drummer, but I can't understand why there are people who say he uses triggers, I don't think he would need them, because he doesn't play so fast (at least in lamb of god songs) and it's not difficult to hit the bass drums strongly playing so slow. I am wondering what makes this drummer so special for lots of metalheads. I mean, he's good that's obvious, but, what does he have that makes him so "special"? just asking!
@cabratotal3 Watch the walk with me in hell dvd and the band will explain alot of things ay.. certainly he doesn't play really fast, which gets boring quickly anyway.. cause i mean who wants to hear a constant really fast double kick all song.. its the way he just throws himself into the songs, the way he times himself the way he thinks and composes everything, he mightnt be special to you, but he's definitely an insperation to me.. and im a guitarist and vocals..
@Wakattack94 I agree, but there are lots of ways to play fast, you can play fast and technical at the same time, what would make you a virtuous, what I don't think he is, That's what I meant, all my respects though!
Chris Adler is the only drummer i seen that doesn't waste any unnecessarily movement or tricks in drumming, jz steady plain drumming with insane precision in his notes lol
@metallicman711 They put Kelly Shu internal mic holders in the kicks. I was there (to video this) and have seen the set in person. Do you really need to keep doubting that there are mics being used when I've repeatedly said they were there? I've got no reason to lie about it, especially when you can see the mic cables in the video.
@MaggotMuncher96 i try once more .. NO he does NOT use any kind of triggers.. Go see some videos here on youtube theres videos of hes live rack and there most definatly is not any modules for triggering.
Please get your facts straight before you start tossing them around :)
@MaggotMuncher96 Why do you need to be so rude ?. I'll give you a quick lesson on what we are talking about here :).
Muffling af a bassdrum can be done in many ways mostly by putting a pillow, blanket. Inside the bassdrum to minimize the more boomy resonant sound.
Triggers is a piezo ( look up ddrum, Roland triggers ), that you put on your bassdrum, run a caple from the trigger to a drum module ( which plays a pre recorded drum sample ), and sends it to the PA. I should know, i use triggers:)
@Siggedrummer no shit dumb ass i use triggers too, im talking about his FLOOR TOMS AND BASS DRUMS! the god damn mufflers he uses have a sensor on them that are the same thing as fucking triggers
@MaggotMuncher96 Now again, why so rude ?. We are having a normal conversation. No need to be so rude :). Well if you are so sure of this then i would like to know where you have this information from ? :).
And as far as i can see he is micing the kicks :).
@MaggotMuncher96 Dude, chill out. There are no triggers on this kit in the video. There's no muffling either. That would defeat the purpose of Mapex and Aquarian sponsoring the clinic series. I talked to Chris after the clinic, I know the guys who set up the drums, and I saw/touched these same drums in the video.
@MaggotMuncher96 no those are for those who can't play properly and require a machine to pick up on their hits whether they're soft or hard and play them as if they've all been hit perfectly, using sound samples from the electric brain.
@drumboarder1 triggers are run through a computer progam and even with mics, the sounds are replaced with a crystal clear and perfect sound, so basically the same thing as triggers, the only difference is that it enhances the sound of what the mics pick up, so either way its run through a computer and replaced with a different sound
@drumboarder1 Trigger sensitivity is normally set high to reduce the chance of double triggering. So no, they don't pick up soft hits. You wouldn't want to trigger your kick drum with the reverberation caused by the snare, would you? Also, because the sound is so clear, you have to be really precise with your drumming or everyone is going to hear the drummer fuck up. Triggers require precision drumming, not for 'those that suck'.
@MaggotMuncher96 dude, triggers are for fags who can't play double bass properly, basically lazy fuckers who can't be arsed to improve enough to play it without cheating
@HardcoreRunescaping How are triggers in anyway shape or form less technical or "cheating"? Your still hitting the bass drum with the same force but just not using the sound made by the bass drum. Using triggers or not does not make you a better or worse player. I also cannot keep a straight face while replying to a comment with a username like yours but it's probably a troll..
@36hunters Ahem, according to every single I drummer I know, including one who is a drum tutor at college, triggers are designed to insert a pre recorded bass drum sound to be played no matter how hard the pedal is hit, this means they can get away doing light as fuck taps with the intention of having a computer play the rest for them. Hence cheating.
@HardcoreRunescaping Yes, you can hit lighter but are going to sit and tell me when you are playing live that you're not going to hitting the shit of the pedals? Also 10 times out of 10 people who use triggers are experienced often professional drummers. If you still think triggers are cheating then I really do feel sorry for you.
@36hunters As I Lay Dying use triggers, Asking Alexandria use triggers, the drummers in each band don't play as many kick's as they're meant to for what sound is being produced. Case rests.
@HardcoreRunescaping I don't know about AA, but I've heard AILD go 240bpm with 16th note kicks. Let me break it down for you - that's pretty fucking fast. Without triggers, the kicks are going to sound muddy and droning... no matter how well you tune it. Also, most drummer fuse the trigger sample and the acoustic sound to get a natural tone with the punch of a trigger sample to dissect the kicks, giving definition. NOW case rests.
@HardcoreRunescaping Another disadvantage about triggers is that because the sample is so clear, if you mess up, everyone's going to hear it. So how is that cheating?
@HardcoreRunescaping Urm, no. Sensitivity can be set according to how hard you hit the drums. Now you're saying "but you can set it low and just tap at it". The problem with that is double triggering or xtalk situations, where even a slight reverberation could set it off. So it's a problem if it's set too low because a tom could set off a kick trigger. Sensitivity is normally pretty high, seeing as a drumkit is loud as shit.
looks like hes riding a tractor when he is doing the double bass :D
