@TheOwnage909 You can get a decent talkbox like the Rocktron Banshee at Guitar Center for around $150. It's a great starter talkbox cause it has a built-in amp. Then you can step up to the old school Golden Throat, but those are pretty hard to come by on craigslist and ebay.

@crubox and it doesn't need batteries. I just got a very shitty free speech talkbox. it's ok but, the full talkbox sound doesn't come up, (like i just get half of the sound) and it needs a 9 volt battery. that so sucks. I wish I could get one. (if my parents have the right amount of money)

@apofkapsokefopaskfeo you gotta find a good patch for it. i like Roger Troutman's or Teddy Riley's which you can get from Mr. Groove on the internet. Outside of that, you need a talkbox. A rocktron banshee is a good starter one, but if you can find one, I would get a Golden Throat.

@mageoreh no, I don't need the talkbox in order to talk. I have full use of my vocal chords haha. When using a talkbox though, you don't actually use your vocal chords. The talkbox and tube act as a vocal chord bringing the sound into your mouth. Then you move your mouth as if you are speaking, similar to a whisper but with no air leaving your mouth at all. Hope that helps.
