The educational system utterly fails in the US. The purpose is not to teach you or make you smarter, it's to destroy your spirit and individuality, denigrate and demoralize you and make you more amenable to a life of subservience. I'm going into 12th grade next year and last year, I had completely given up on school and resolved to teach myself everything b/c I could see that I wasn't learning there. I'm far from stupid (IQ: 158, SAT: 2260) but i'm barely passing; I just don't care anymore.

By the month two my daughter stopped talking in class and that was out of her character. She was a very social child up until that point just being at home with me and her younger sibling and running errands around the neighborhood and hanging with her park playgroup. But school was dimming that light inside of her that she had for learning. The moment I pulled her out and started teaching her at home I notice they had already done some damage to her selfestem and confidence.
