@24shanman had he retired 3 years before he'd have missed out on 2 nfc championship games, his best statistical season ( '09 - '10 ), and beating the Pack twice.
should have retired after the '09 - '10 season.
this clip shows the problem the Vikes had that whole season...they were built to run block, had trouble protecting, and his leg never healed from the injury in the '10 NFC championship game.
@HanoverFist247 What are you going on about? Brett Favre never taught Aaron Rodgers a damn thing about how to play the QB position. Brett Favre ignored Rodgers when they were together in Green Bay and never even congratulated him on his Super Bowl win last season. This is coming from a Vikings fan. Its obvious you don't know a thing about football, leave your misguided comments elsewhere.
@vaddy23 Don't be butt hurt lol but you're looking this clown rodeo through the eyes of a new generation's eyes. Football used to be a lot more brutal and fun. I'm not going to argue about it as i don't care about it. But this isn't a real sport like i was.
Favre is my hero no madder what people say he played his heart out every game and played thorugh various injuries tell me another player who does that. 297 consuctive starts too. More records than anyone can count. always been a packer fan but i stick benhind favre in any decsion he made i followed him to the jets then to vikes which he should have won a sb but was cheated out by the refs. All i am going to say love or hate him he was one of the greatst to strap on a helmet. FAVRE 4 EVER

@WeDaBears000 i don't know. back in the day, brett gave your bears a run for their money on plenty of occasions. i'm not a packers fan or a bears fan. to tell you the truth, favre really gets on my nerves, but in his prime, he was one of the best. he just played too damn long.
@WeDaBears000 ur a dumb ass... do even remember the times brett raped the bears... he was a tough mofo and now we will have about 25 years of franchise qbs while u havent had 1 at all
I won't forget watching this live when Ron Jaworski said, "We all know Brett Favre. Take a deep breath and I expect him to be back out there." Good call Ron it was it last NFL play ever!
People saying Brett is a pussy... You're clearly younger. Brett Favre was a LEGEND. Made amazing plays, never went out unless he had to, and always fought. This is coming from a Bears fan...
@TehSinthros WHat kind of self-respect Bears fan calls Brent a Legend? On top of being a Packer, he was also a complete d-bag. If the Packers don't even like him, why should we?
Coming from a Bears fan, Aaron Rodgers is a much better QB in terms of both playmaking and attitude.
@TehSmellulare I'm talking about in his prime. In his prime, he was an amazing quarterback. He's a very tough guy, and I've just always personally liked the guy. Didn't know I needed your approval to do that.
@TehSinthros You don't. But I'm a Bears fan living in Wisconsin, and since Favre left, I don't think I've met a single person here who'd say they personally liked the guy.
@TehSinthros You don't. But I'm a Bears fan living in Wisconsin, and since Favre left, I don't think I've met a single person here who'd say they personally liked the guy.
@TehSinthros As a lifelong Packers fan, it makes me sick when people don't respect Brett Favre. The dude started 297 straight games. And that makes him a pussy? SMH. I will always be a Packers fan, and #4 will always be my favorite quarterback... I love Rodgers though. He is something special :) I miss Favre though... not 2008-2011 Brett, but the real Brett Favre... I'm still waiting for Favre to become part of the Packers coaching staff!
@TehSinthros I agree (and i'm also a Bears fan) Brett Favre was the old fashioned type gunslinger you want on your team, a legend. Fuck Aaron Rodgers and his pussy Packers!
I think the vikings didn't even try to protect him at all that season. Just wondered why the heck they would let a legend to go out to try help there sorry ass franchise and not even protect him. No, MEN do not call playing on a football field, basketball court & baseball field heroic. Little boys (regardless of age) who lack nuance and perspective call sports heroic.
An example of Heroism would be if your mother had convinced your dad to simply settle for a blow job on the night you were conceived. For the sake of humanity, it seems that would have been truly heroic.
@drbayoms You're stupid. Don't try to switch my words around when they're typed, idiot. I didnt say that men consider playing a game heroic. Re-read it, little man.
This is the initial quote I commented on. You "co-signed" this statement by interjecting your opinion. That means you agreed with it. So, I reiterate. There is NOTHING heroic about playing a damn game, you little bitch.
Men know the difference between a guy who swallowed a handful of Vicodin just to hear drunken idiots like you chant his name vs. REAL HEROES who make tough choices. Open a window, change your sheets & air out your room.
"you're so upset that someone can find a professional athlete as a hero....."
No, I find it "upsetting" that someone could be so devoid of "depth" that they would view ANYTHING done on a football field as heroic. That is weird, you ignorant fuck.
@aspinall06 Yeah, he "showed up" to play for Green Bay after he cried crocodile tears four months earlier saying he "just didn't have it in him to play anymore." How'd you feel if you were given a job and then, before you even started your boss comes to you and says "sorry, but the guy you replaced changed his mind about leaving, so you'll have to go"? Favre made an ass of himself from 2007-2010, sandwiched between not knowing what to do in his post-football life to savoring media attention.
@aspinall06 oh yeah, he wanted to play but NOT to practice! dnt u find it odd tht favre pulled the same shit: retiring just to come back AFTER training camp. maybe the packers got tired of fuckin around nd wanted a championship so they traded him to the jets-where we saw how he is when he doesnt have a bunch of huge WR tht can catch anything thrown near them. then he goes to the vikings where the coach makes sure to limit him to slant routes nd AP does the rest nd he's a hero again...HOP OFF!!!

"Heroes are remembered, legends never die!"

@drbayoms lol sure, cool guy. you're so upset that someone can find a professional athlete as a hero of theirs for what reason? get over it, weirdo.

Wrong team for an old QB, if your going to play into your 40's at that position at least make sure your pass protection's up to par
