  • greatest most depressing love story in the past 40 years... the movie is sooo good but the book is better cause there is sooo much more <3

  • Very good movie and very good song......John Frusciante's version is the Best version

  • @vossos7 I agree John Frsuciante's version is so beautiful :)

  • I dont want to talk about it.

  • fantastic

Lost Witness - did i dream

  • this version is by paula arundell

  • I need to find out who sings this version!!!!!!!AAAAh I'm getting maaad!

  • @bookeater94 It's by Paula Arundell

  • @etnit thank you so very much!!!<3

  • me encanta la cancion y la pelicula es genial :)

  • sounds like Ertha Kitt doing "Song to the Siren", which would have been nice but I really don't think that was what they were after

  • magical.

  • This is the most touching lyrics with video of a brilliant actor who was taken too soon from this earth. Really makes you think about what's important in life....the ones you love....God bless you Heath Ledger!!

  • This film makes me want to do drugs.

  • @kimjuh123 LOL!!!

  • @kimjuh123 Me too. I feel the need to shoot up.

  • this opening is just amazing, one of the best i have ever seen, i really should see this movie

  • @generaltodd2 I can't remember ever seeing a better intro for a movie.

  • @etnit well aside from Hannibal Rising, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Gettysburg, aswell as The Alamo, this is one of the best openings i have ever seen

  • @etnit Check out the movie the "Watchman" intro,it's one of the greatest openings to!lol

  • “Doubt that the stars are fire, doubt that the sun doth move, doubt truth to be a liar, but never doubt I love.”

  • One of my favorite Heath Ledger films and one of my favorite Books.

I love that they chose this song for this film. It is very fitting. Drugs are like a Siren. Luring peoplel to their destruction.

I could relate to this film and book alot.

This song always gets me everytime. I always tear up.

  • "When I first met Candy, those were like the days of juice. Man, everything was bountiful. Birds filled the sky. A great kindness fled through us."

    Best opening scene ever.

  • this movie is like my life story.. so so sad.

  • @Downlette1 Nobody ask you.

  • beautiful song, but though i prefer the one of this mortal coil.

  • this is probably one of the most depressing and beautiful movies ever.

  • Why do the good ones leave us so quickly?

  • @zakalwe101 yeah i know right... I think he had such a bright future

  • If you like this song, you should defenitely check out the version of cocteau twins, which is in my opinion even more beautiful than this one.

  • Who's singing the version of the song ??

    Thanks a lot

  • @daynovar

track 1 on the CD soundtrack for this 2006 film "Candy"

this version → vocals by Paula Arundell (Australian) ☺

song written by Larry Beckett & Tim Buckley (1969)

  • heroin addiction is beautiful. life is beautiful. you just need to make it through it. too bad we dont get out alive. this movie was my life. i lived it all in the short time it took. most stories are that touching. the love seems it has so much depth when your so far from the ground.

  • fuck the rotor made me vom. i hate that ride.

  • it's funny how this film is about herion addiction yet it still manages to be beatufiul

heath ledger and abbie cornish are amazing

  • emozione....

  • This is absolutely one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen, this being one of my favorite scenes of this movie. It's so beautifully done that I really want to film a remake of this scene for my film class, just don't know how lol! The acting is so good, very genuine. God bless Heath <3 This was one of his best roles.

  • Wie kann man nur an Drogen und Tabletten sterben, wenn man so einen Film gemacht hat? Das ist so traurig, Heath Ledger war und ist mein Lieblingsschauspieler.

  • this is a great rendition of Song of the Siren & I agree that this is one of Heath's best & toughest to watch, especially after how he left this world.

  • Abbie Cornish is outstanding in this amazing & sad film.

Arguably this is Ledger's second best work, after Brokeback...

  • Can anyone please tell me who sings this? Thank you :)

    Peaceful and lovely song

  • @Missmonroes

this is one of many covers of this 1960s song

track 1 on the CD soundtrack

  • This is ...

  • surreal.

  • geeze...this song...and this movie. Something else I tell ya. So moving.

  • I LOVE you HEath, LOVE this movie, your forever in my heart

  • I love the JF version.

  • A very nice version, indeed. Still, for me, the definitive version is the one recorded more than 25 years ago by This Mortal Coil, which I think even exceeds the original version by Tim Buckley. The 4AD record label, Ivo Watts-Russell, 23 Envelope & Liz Fraser were ALL light years ahead of their time.

  • who is singing this version? i can't find it anywhere!!

  • Paula Arundell

  • CANDY! love love love. RIP, Heath <3

  • So John Frusciante did a cover of this song. I heard it in the movie The lovely bones and thought it was a Frusciante original.

Any way. It is a beatiful song...i love it...

  • @EMMETNEXO

Yeah...this is a Tim Buckley song.......covered many times, but never truly duplicated! Beautiful.........

  • Haha tim buckley wrote it a good.. 40 or so years ago :P

  • I absolutely love this scene!

It's a great introduction for the movie.

  • This movie is so much amazing ...

  • I saw this movie back in 07 and I was just mesmerized. This still is my favorite scene and the song is so beautiful. My ex Keres and I were like this.. Very much in love and even though I am trying to get over someone else that I dated after him, I still think about the relationship I had with Keres years ago. We still talk and love each other but distance stands between us and a lot of history.

  • it's one of the most beautiful movies i've ever seen..i'm totally in love with it, and with heath ledger..

  • This movie truly touched me. It is absolutely incredible.

  • i can't believe it, this si one of the most beautiful songs of all time. ive been meaning to see this film for ages, im definitely goin 2 buy it now. amazing

  • it seems that "Song to the Siren" from Tim Buckley is one of the most coverd songs in music history

  • Heath we miss you! RIP!

  • This is one of the best movies of all time and I think the two lead roles were perfectly cast. If you haven't seen it, it really does leave you with a strange feeling.

  • this is the best begining of movie, I've ever seen, and I've seen much :)

  • this movie allows me to live... I am truly blessed to have watched it and now i will keep it with me forever

  • For those who didn't make it......

  • Best I've ever seen. It's ideal. Everything.

  • Another proof that there ain't no god: the good apples always die before the rotten. And no, god doesn't have a greater, bigger plan for them.

  • i cry every time i watch it.

    i love heath ledger.

its so sad that he is gone...

    D':

  • whose cover version is this?

  • Okay for a start the original song to a siren by thr cocteau twins is available. Buckley had a cover version of this before he drwoned

  • Tim Buckley composed the song with his song writing partner Jeff Beckett. He introduced the song in 1967 on the Monkeys tv show and released it on his classic album Starsailor. The Cocteau Twins do a great rendition of the song. But it is Tim's. Jeff, who drowned, was Tim's son.

  • i love this movie, this is my favorite seen.

    it is a fantastic movie

  • this song makes me have tears of joy

  • Esse filme é uma liçõ de vida e conceteza est incluso n minha list de mlhores filmes já produzidos

  • this is my favorite movie.

i never get sick of it

  • this song is hauntingly beautiful, so is the movie. it is acually my favourite. cant wait til i get the book.

    - more is never enough

  • the book is quite beautiful - Luke did good..he describes the pathos, absurd comedy, solidarity & heartbreak of the evolving catastrophe of using so well...the language is the paint and every addict's soul the canvas..it's hilariously funny and then it breaks your heart....enjoy! Luke never really came this close again to peeling the skin off human frailty
