intelligence from Abu Zubaydah without torture even before the CIA starting torturing

There are three questions: 1. is water-boarding torture? 2. should we do it (even if it is not considered "torture")? 3. is it effective? My answers: of course water boarding is torture. It is method of depriving one of air. Duh! I don't care if you do it to your kids for fun on the 4th of July, it's still torture. Sure you can get a lawyer to argue the point. Whether it is effective depends on the resolve of the subject. I doubt Bush & Cheney could endure it but we wont know till we try.
