And and I've been wondering about the foggy white thing you scrubbed all over the place after you made the strips in the background...what is that substance?

  • great !!!!!!!!!!!! me like it !!!!!!

  • Amazing and inspiring! I wanna paint now!

  • Awesome painting!

  • what tools did you use from 1:03 to 1:09?

  • Which is this city and where i can find this photo on google????Thanks!!!

  • may i say perfection?

  • Excelente..!!!

  • My teacher always says not to work with square brush and to wash all the colours with water(not to have streight edges) when painting in watercolour. I see you have streight edges but still looks cool! Nice video

  • Awesome Spectacular THX for sharing !

  • John,

Beautiful work. Was that a wash of titanium white?

  • WoW

  • for the details (crowd of people) is he using acrylic paint or just a really thick watercolor?

  • Amazing...really beautiful..

  • Love that you let the viewer finish the painting . Amazing!!

  • Wow, watching this made me want to sit down and paint! Thanks for sharing, and you have a wonderful style; a satisfying mix of spontaneity and detail.

  • @AcademyArtVenture

Hi, Thanks for your comments. The ink I use is Art Spectrum Burnt Sienna Pigment Ink - insoluble once dry.

  • A+++

  • WOW ! Great work !

  • You are so unbelievably talented.

  • Oh My Gosh !!!!!!!!!!! That is Gorgeous!!!!!!!!

  • white houses?

  • Excellent work.

  • amazing! Great tecnich :)

  • I love it !! Stunning!

  • fantastic,,,,,great

  • ... è assolutamente fantastico !

  • wet into wet can accomplish that. he is not really employing that technique however. those r just very light flat and graded washes. basically leave the background light and abstract , then sharpen and make darker as u move into foreground. wet into wet is simply wetting the paper and then dropping paint into that area and the paint disperses in a very interesting and abstract way. experiment with it.

  • Great!!!

  • does anyone know what's that technique he does to make the background look all blured?

  • I believe he used guauche. He let the painting completely dry . Then (but it doesn't show in the video) sprayed the painting or the part of the painting with a fine mist and brushed the guauche all over and feathered it with the 3" hake brush where so as to not show any hard edges. You have to make sure the brush is dry at all times.

  • Wonderful! Love-it! ;)

  • Very beautiful and interesting. Thankyou.

  • WOW this is amazing!

    Absolutely incredible!
