Being abstract is not the only way to be artistic or unique. I think that he deserves respect, but a lot of his fans go too far. This MF Doom guy is good, but I don't consider him to be one of the greatest MCs and definitely not the greatest MC. He has some good metaphors and similes, but his delivery sucks. I know he has a raspy voice, but there are rappers with raspy voices who rhyme clearly. It's cool to have abstract songs sometimes because it does challenge the listener to form their own meaning, but doing it all of the time doesn't make sense to me. I like hearing songs that have definitive messages to them.
