Aww, my boy is kinda like this too. Whenever he finds a kitten, he does his best to protect it. It really surprised me the first time we brought a new kitten home, cause he wouldn't let her out of his sight. I always figured that since he's a boy, he wouldn't care about kittens. But it's quite the opposite with him, actually. When my other cat had kittens, he wouldn't leave their side for days.
