  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying?

    (2) Why do flying is so elegent and amazing that we write so many songs about it, including this song?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter Haha. This seems suspicious. Simply put: Flying = Freedom. Sorry if this is 3 months late, but better than never... =)

  • @2205923358

I agree. This is part of the reason that I play flight simulation game.

What other facts that encourage us to fly apart from freedom? Please express more your opinion!!! :)

  • @applesweeter Well if you're looking for the reason we love flying, freedom is the romantic reason. However the whole faster travel has to be taken into account. Also I would say being able to look at the world from above makes us feel strange (Godly even). In this song you hear about all the countryside down below rather than about the clouds and air. After all,any time you get on an aeroplane you'll notice grown adults staring out the window with childish fascination. No characters left

  • I is therefore the ground that holds the fascination too. Seeing something from above allows us to soak in everything in it's entirety rather than the little bits we can see from on the ground. Anyway, this was nice. It's like being back at school again.

  • i love the way the clapping slowly dies out lol....embarrassment factor for the last person clapping....10/10

  • I don't know why, but I love that he closes his eyes to sing.

  • he's married to my cousin, god hes bloody great!

  • @12mickeyd12

He's no longer married to anyone. He's divorced, but is now seeing Cathy Davey.

  • He is so amazing. he has every audience in the palm of his hand - if he suggests we clap, we clap! I love it and him. Love reign Neil!!

  • he's nice for letting them clap.

  • @fashionandmusic921 he sure is.

  • This is a beautiful song, full of whimsy. It of course can be paralleled in feel to 'im walking in the air' , the main difference between the two being this is a lot better. All hail Hannon! And long may he continue to make sweet sweet music!

  • GENIUS.

  • Thanks for the vid. I wanna see him on stage... He's a great composer, musician and singer, and errr... I think he's handsome ^^

  • Neil hannon is amazing, no words...just emotion....uffff

  • hey ! neil ! when do you come to leave in france !!!???

    WE LOVE YOU !!!

  • The Divine Comedy is one of it´s kind... AMAZING music. Neil Hannon is one of the most gifted musicians and lyricists I have ever heard. Simply amazing.

  • Heh people always think your on drugs if you put real emotion into a song. So used to seeing blunted performances i suppose :)

    I love this band.

  • If Putin was 20 years younger and sang in a band, they'd look the same.

  • lol, good observation

  • rightly said but in the "Gin Soaked Boy" video he looks like Thom Yorke of Radiohead

  • I hadn't heard of this song until I heard Dermot O'Leary talk about it and play it on his Saturday afternoon Radio 2 show recently. It is a lovely, emotional song. Thanks Dermot.

  • God he's hot. Brilliant song.

  • He looks like he's taken an E - awesome performance, very emotional and intense.

  • fly me across the atlantic please to dublin

  • neil hannon only gets hotter with age.
