One way you can control a drift in a FWD is left foot braking. You need to come in really hot so you have enough momentum to start a four wheel drift, then you need to know your brakes really well. Braking is key here, the brakes can be used to cause over or understeer. You want to stay WOT the entire time as well as learn how to drift WITH OUT counter steering. Don't kid your self into thinking this is easy. This is one of the hardest ways to drift!

You just have to break the traction somehow. Any car can do this, regardless of transmission or drivetrain.
