I miss the 80s!......Just kidding, I wasn't even born then! Born in 1992 and love the Old Skool! I always wonder what it would be like to live in the 80s! From the looks of it the 80s was off the chain!
today its almost nonexistent to hear a good song with the subject of a woman with common sense saying its OK for a man she really likes or loves to sleep & creep around with other women.
One of the greatest bands of all time. The core of the group are still together. First chance you get go see them live you won't be dissapointed. It's 2011 and there still going strong...

Ahhh. For the days when musicians took both pride and joy in perfecting their craft. Also when all video models weere slim & light complexioned. We take the great witht he bad.
The fat synth sound is what made this song. Beat added the taste. This, I'll be good and just a few more were just such fat, heavy, thick songs...how can u not dance to this, no matter how old you are. Black Music these days is so limiting to the black culture that it is a shame. This was music made to dance to...nothing else. I remember being the white german guy in a all black US-Army club in Bremen, Germany (Memory) hanging out with my friends from the 2nd Armored Division. Good old times.
I loved music from the time of this song...it's amazing, no matter HOW MANY TIMES I've heard it, it NEVER NEVER NEVER gets old, and I still get chills every time I hear it. But the music of today, 95% of it goes in one ear and out of the other. This is CLASSIC.
The 80's, those were the days!: no internet, no mobile phone's, no texting, instant messaging, what's app, face book, and all that other digital crap. Life was so simple !
This is a great video, but tell me why is it no longer available on mobile???? That sucks!!! I love the SOS Band and own all their albums from the 1980's. Too bad this video can't be viewed on a mobile device anymore!!
I have researched these music categories for the past 9 years
and I have rediscovered tunes I had forgotten about or I discovered
new tunes that totally deserved the time it took to discover them.
In Itunes Store or Itunes Ping if you use the search terms "electrofunk" (as a single word) or "80s funk" the search result shall produce several lists that have "electrofunk" or "80s funk" in the playlist name in the "Playlist" category at the low left corner of the search result.
These lists have songs that (1) you may have heard before and enjoyed but forgotten or (2) songs that you may enjoy now but you have not heard before. These lists also include album cuts that were not released as singles and songs from lesser known artists such as Fatback, Kashif, Laid Back, D Train, Boys Don't Cry, and Dynasty.
WOW, THE SOS BAND, STEPHANIE MILLS, BOBBY BROWN, JOHNNY GILL, RALPH TRESVANT AND CUPID BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN AT THE INDIANA BLACK EXPO SUMMER CELEBRATION CONCERT LAST NIGHT!!!
@shoelvr1 But black music is unique ....some of us interpret music different...white folks like to put a "Club" label on everything...this is NOT club music....dont hate or bash him because he is proud of his culture! You DONT like it, DUECES!!
@cbnboy34 Thank You. some people misinterpeted my comment as if me saying something positive about black people means i am putting down other races.I am glad somebody has enough since to see the comment for what it was
@skiddww01 "Back" is nothing more than a color, and "black" people are nothing more than human beings. Music can be great coming from anyopne and anywhere. Please don't spew ignorance, the world has enough of that already. Just enjoy the good tunes.
@SuperStrive60 There is no doubt there are talented singers and musicians in all races and nationalities I am a fan of a lot of them. In my opinion black people are the best at creating and performing music. I stated my opinion there is nothing racist or prejudice about it.The ignorance is coming from all of you people who have decided to spin it as such.
@skiddww01 Did you even read what I wrote? Speaking of ignorance, why employ racist terms, when separate human "races" are not even scientifically valid terms to begin with? "Black" is nothing more than a social construction, as is "white". No human being is superior to another simply based on superficial differences. Get over yourself and get educated to cure your ignorance.
this is from a great time musically...new romantics, paul weller (style council), boy george, human league, duran duran, synth pop, funk, undergound disco still pumping at clubs, high energy, the emergance of madonna, rick james still groovin, prince etc etc etc. music charts were a great blend of all styles. now..all the same and singers singing one phrase and having it cut up to make a song. this song and just be good to me a classics of the highest order.

Believe it or not, this tune reached # 32 on the United Kingdom (British) Pop Chart. The SOS Band's "Groovin" reached # 72 on the UK pop chart.
In the early/mid 80s there was a lot of funk-ish music crossing from the R&B chart to the US and, more frequently, UK pop charts and vice-versa.
David Bowie's "Lets Dance" got to # 14 on the US R&B chart in 1983.
A few more examples, the US R&B Chart: "Shock the Monkey", "She Blinded Me with Science" "Out of Touch."
lenelljeter2 6 months ago
@lenelljeter2 and those were considered R&B by the powers that be , NOT by black people, but YES they were good groups!
cbnboy34 1 month ago
You may find that it is worth the time to take a look and listen at the song lists that
have been posted to Itunes Ping that meld together rhythmically & stylistically
compatible early/mid 80s R&B/funk songs and early/mid 80s synth pop/new wave
songs. Lots of music that was either forgotten or not ever learned
of but was very enjoyable or would be very enjoyable if it was rediscovered or
discovered for the 1st time by people that enjoy this type of music. People like you?
lenelljeter2 6 months ago
I have researched these music categories for the past 9 years
and I have rediscovered tunes I had forgotten about or I discovered
new tunes that totally deserved the time it took to discover them.
In Itunes Store or Itunes Ping if you use the search terms "electrofunk" (as a single word) or "80s funk" the search result shall produce several lists that have "electrofunk" or "80s funk" in the playlist name in the "Playlist" category at the low left corner of the search result.
lenelljeter2 6 months ago
Click on the "more" link and once you have opened the next page that has
all of the Playlist search results for "electrofunk" or "80 funk",
you'll quickly find a bunch of lists that use the title "Ebony & Ivory Electrofunk".
lenelljeter2 6 months ago
These lists have songs that (1) you may have heard before and enjoyed but forgotten or (2) songs that you may enjoy now but you have not heard before. I used to party at this club when I was in my 20's, and it was the hot spot in Atlanta. Great band, and a song that brings back many memories for me and others as well.
