Ummm.. I don't know why it wouldn't work for you because it worked for me, and I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 9.

Get a more updated version. If you don't have mask, you obviously don't have a version that masking has been included in. Try Sony Vegas 8 or 7.

just use the anchor creation tool and click on the image your masking to add an achor point then it should change back....

Oh, yeah! I'm trying to move the time thingy so that the video will move forward a little bit and make another mask, but the previous one is still there.

gotcha! all you gotta do is, when you add the next keyframe point right click the screen and click RESET MASK to make the previous one go away

yup, as long as it's on a seperate keyframe it will stay on the previous keyframe and be deleted from the new one

click on the position bar above mask and make sure the "lock aspect ratio" on the far left is off and just drag the position box down at the bottom or top instead of at the corners

when im done masking the outline of the moving masked object and do the frame by frame moving of the anchor points. the finished project looks like the outline is morphing and it looks really unatural. Chroma key is great but it only works sometimes......Any suggestions on how to make a mask (moving object) look natural?

Sometimes you can use Chromo keyer. but that done always work. sometimes your stuck with masking. unless you want half of your clip to not show.

Yes I did. Im sad to say it is true, it takes a great deal of editing time to move mask especially on a fast moving scene, not many actually do that thought, but it does give great results.

If .avi files doesn't work just download TotalVideoConverter and convert them into another format... Like .wmv, .mov, .flv, .mpeg4, whatever :P

most .avi files need the divx codec, if you got that and still have problems the i don't know how to help, getting the codec usually solves most of my problems but some of my .avi files still get screwed when i import them.

I had the same problem. What I did, is I watched Montagical's tutorial on how to fix it. OR, if what he said doesn't work, like it did on my other computer, just download the K-lite Codec Pack, and that should fix it.
