Creativity in motion.....of all the posts of pictures paired with music I have seen so far on youtube, this is by far the most original! Thank you for sharing.
i remember watching some show on discovery channel. They built and tested a flying or gliding machine, and found it worked. They also talked about his life. It sounds like he was more interested in art, science and discovery more than sex. They also talked about him being a man of many contradictions. He would help lords with designing superior machines of war, but disinclination and aversion toward petty quarrels of man. This is how I've always seen Leonardo.
Never did understand most paintings. Even though they're opening up yet ANOTHER visual arts museum in uptown charlotte. But as for music... I come from a musically gifted family. And I love Nat! May God rest his soul!
Simply one of the prettiest songs ever written sung by one of the best male vocalists who ever lived. What a perfect combination. I wonder which of today's male vocalists will be remembered in the years ahead. Any thoughts?
i remember this song because my dad loved this song... my dad loves karaoke and he always sang this... im far from home and i miss my dad... specially that christmas is kicking in... and this song just makes me feel at home... makes me fall sad too... i wish i was home...
My father used to sing this song to my mother when I was growing up . My father has sinced passed on . I remember them dancing in the living room to this song . I love you Daddy..
i absolutely love this song, nat king cole has one of the most beautiful voices i've ever heard, especially love the part where is goes, mona lisa, mona lisa, men have named you, such a beautiful song, i just love his music
its friday morning barak obama accepted his nomination. years ago nat cole came on the scene bringing, into our hearts, such great and wonderful sounds. as i recall nat faced controversy and racism during his time. yet, we was adored and loved by so many. his songs endure as any classic will. thank you for your posting blackpaint2 i need such wonderful songs to remind me of the times of back in the day
Thks BLACKPAINT2 - this is from my childhood - WOW- what a crowd of professionals I heard growing up in the late 40s and 50s! What a great time for a youngster to be listening to popular music. Nat King Cole was the smoothest balladeer of them all - and a terrific human being to put up with the problems he encountered by being a hugely, popular star, but pummeled with the social restraints of being a Negro in that time. All of his music was unequaled then, and now.
After a long and stressful day, listening to Nat King Cole's songs, makes life more bearable.A voice so beautiful, it's a food to our soul...Thanks for posting.
I don't know about bringing a smile to Obama. however,I think his wife could use a little smile. lol. Nate king Cole was indeed a touching and gifted Muscian who was way before his time. His voice, and muscical arranging were, and still are incomparable.
Ah yes, the era of bigotry and racism, the era where black and white were completely seperated (and black men were occassionally hunted down and lynched), the era of communist hunting and the Red Scare, and so on and so forth.. Trust me, Western Civilization really isn't moving forward all that much when it comes to these things. There will always be decent and indecent people. To look back on an era with nostalgia without looking at the darker sides of the period is pretty naïve..
Yeah what a great era it was, and had NO down sides whatsoever. Such as artists like NAT KING COLE not being able to perform in certain establishments or eat with the rest of the members of his band or stay at the same hotels as his fellow big name musicians of the day all because of his skin color.
