  • you are so eloquent. great video and thanks for sharing.

  • Good luck honey~ :) I'm so happy for you.

  • is it too late to donate $10?

  • Damn shes fine.

  • @kbi35 I was thinking the exact same thing! Although I didn't want to be the first one to say it since it seemed so inappropriate... :)

  • check out G.O.A.L. or InKAS, they both help and provide informations on how to find birthparents and how to get to Korea and cheap Hostels for Adoptees..

message me back for more information?? :)

I wish you the best of luck

  • Thanks so much for your advice :) I actually need to update my videos. I traveled to Korea this summer & met my biological parents on a "Birthland Tour." InKAS sponsored some of the activities, and I am a member of GOAL. But I always like connecting with people who are a part of the Korean adoptee network. My husband & I definitely hope to return to Korea, maybe even some day for an extended visit.

  • To the original poster. : )

You know I'm going to Korea for only around 3,000$ --- For 2 months. I'm staying with my boyfriend and his family 1/2 the time and in a hostel the other 1/2 ... There are really cheap ways to get to Korea! .. It's not a very expensive country .. Kimchi Chigae is only $4 ! ---

I'm just saying this so you can get there sooner! .. and really great video : )

  • lackingapathy: I'm not adopted but my friend was adopted from China at age 13. Up until that age she lived in a Chinese orphanage. She's VERY happy and grateful to her parents. I'm sure most adoptees feel this way too ...

(Sorry to OP if this is not your opinion ^ ___ ^ I didn't mean it in that way).

  • I'm interested in adopting later in life...how do you, as an adoptee feel about adoption?

  • Wow, that's a pretty heavy question. I'm happy to answer it, but I don't have much time at this moment, so I'll get back to you hopefully this weekend...I will say that I have mixed emotions and conflicting thoughts regarding adoption...and if you ever do decide to adopt, I think it would be important for you to do your research first. For anyone who is thinking about adopting, it is important to understand that you're not a hero for doing so...it's not an act of charity...but I'll expand later.

  • @yoonsblur

Correct#1 is research. I hope if you people who read this who adopt Koreans to make sure they learn Korean(hangul) at an early age. My godfathers daughter refused to teach them Korean. I felt such anger towards her! Grrrr!

  • Thank you for sharing your story.

  • Thanks for taking the time to check out my story...

  • Did you see the news story with video, about a Korean man from Buffalo, Minnesota that recently reunited with his mother in Korea ?

The news story just aired a few weeks ago. In 2009. I just watched it today.

I will send you a link (privately)

Others, please feel free to do a Google search for Korean Man reunites with his mother, after 37 years. Story aired on Minnesota news broadcast, but the story was picked up by a few different newspapers across the country (USA)

  • Great video. I'm glad to hear your story and know that things are moving towards a reunion for you and your family

Our stories are similar. I was adopted from Poland in 75', at 2-years old. But my own search (13 yrs now) has run in to a few road-blocks

$9,000 is a lot. Hopefully you can negotiate a good bargain somehow. Since you are a fellow-adoptee, I will support your efforts and make a donation soon.

Have you read any books or attended any support meetings with adoptees ?
