@Elliotvisualeffects. im conservative but some are traders. as a christian, i cant believe the church is fighting gay marriage while ignoring the real problem. - anti-male divorce courts and laws in genral. marriage is a joke not because of gays but because of laws that guarantee women victory in divorce even when she is divorcing the man. unless chrisitian church man's up, and fight for the laws that are in line with its teachings against feminism it will deservedly so lose ground to islam.
@Elliotvisualeffects If your problem with abortion is white's becoming a minority...that's pretty racist dude. I agreed with a lot of your comments until I read this one. You should also know that abortions rates are quite high for minorities anyways. No one is going to have a kid they don't want because they want to make sure Whites stay in the majority.

@mykole84 good for you. But you're not the one that had to carry them for 9 months. I give props to your wife for enduring that but not every woman wants to. It happens even when all precautions are taken. Also in rape cases, a woman shouldn't be forced to bear the child knowing it's a seed of violence, not of love. Until the baby's heart starts beating, medically speaking it is a parasite. And until that heart starts beating a woman should have the right to remove that parasite from her body
@SwedishFisherman. everyone is a parasite of someone else. no one is independent and capable of truly living alone. we all need someone else. the definition of rape changes too much for me what it is. rape as in forceful sex can go both ways. a man is forced to take care of a kids he didnt want. i can support abortion right when the same support is supplied to men are deadbeats. its hypocritical to allow abortions but lock men up for being deadbeats. im not being mean just fair and fair is fair.
@mykole84 er, no, physically living off someone's body is not teh same as living off benefit. We have this thing called body autonomy- that's why rape is wrong, that's why forced organ donation is wrong- so too, is forced continuation of pregnancy.
@Bumblybee256. babies in the wounds are not parasites. forcing men to support a baby he didnt want is as wrong as forcing a women to have a baby she dont want. we must be fair. it seems most are about only giving choice to women and not to men. im not saying men can force women to have abortion, im saying men shouldnt be arrested for not supporting kids they never wanted. its fair. im about equality and nothing less.
@mykole84 They are to women who aren't willingly carrying the pregnancy. Actually- giving men the go ahead to sleep around irresponsibly and put it all on women is not fair. Whether women have an abortion or give birth there are consequences and you are suggesting men should have none. And what you said bears no elation to the last message I sent you- there's was nothing in there about men.
@Bumblybee256. a man will have consequences regardless, if he choose not financially abort he will live with that for the rest of his life as women do when they physically abort. a woman know whats she's getting into when she has sex, why cant she can she be liberated from responsibility and not a man. its prejudice to exclude men. it wrong to force a women to be a mom but ok to force a man to be a dad. its not right. no compassion for men, shaming deadbeats, praising abortees. just sad.
@mykole84 Lol- no he doesn't! What's to stop a man leaving a trail of unsupported disadvantaged children behind him? Having an abortion is not being liberated from responsibility, it is taking responsibility and quite different from leaving a child who is born without financial support. Given that men know they don't own the equipment and can't abort (and they know this) then it is up to them to risk it. If men want to sign off rights it should be around the same time a women get abortions.
LOL- somehow having an abortion is responsible. U have an abortion because u dont want to be pregnant yet u had sex which had the consequence of causing a pregnancy. im not seeing a responsible person. but somehow a man who has sex and has no decision making in the whole process is more irresponsible if he leaves. talk about sexism, thats sexist. somehow women dont have to risk but men do. do u really think that is fair to treat men like 2nd class citizens? why so much hate against men?
@mykole84 Sex is not a contract and it is not just for procreation. Women have every right to enjoy a sex life without consenting to carrying a pregnancy. What you see is irrelevant, what another woman allows or doesn't allow to use her uterus is none of your business. Sounds to me like you think women should have all the responsibility and men non- answer my question- who forces men to sign the birth certificate? Your victim'playing questions at the end just look like trolling now. Ridiculous.
@Bumblybee256. ur lack of compassion 2wards men is incredible. my opinion as a man doesnt count, if that isnt neglect, idk what is. woman's uterus, man's wallet. if a woman sleeps with a bumb y should the govt correct her irresponsibility. its a no win for women if they abort no financial consequence and if they have he still has to play. imagine if men had the ability to block abortions and not pay child support. women would be complaining rightfully as that 2nd class citizenry.
@mykole84 Erm, no dear. Your sense of self entitlement is incredible. It is not neglect to say that you do not have a say over what happens to a woman's body- it belongs to her. Or should I have a say over who gets to use your organs? It is disgusting that you would compare a woman's body to money. Why don't you compare the use of two bodies- are there any laws telling you that you have to let another being use your body? I don't think so- that's what sexist. Actually- abortions cost money.
@Bumblybee256. funny how men are forced to pay child support until proven not to be the father. they can even be locked up if they refuse to take a dna test. what if u dont want to take a dna test but know u r not the father. child support should not be mandatory, if a man doesnt want to support his kids, why should we force him. id a women doesnt want to have her kids why should we force her. somehow women are more special to you than men. seems like the only sexist idiot is u.
@mykole84 Lol, where do you live? Where I live men are not forced to take paternity tests and are not forced to sign the birth certificate. I smell BS coming from your direction. You clearly haven't thought this through- supporting live children who need to be fed and clothed is a different thing entirely to allowing a pregnancy to continue. In the former case actual suffering occurs. How selfish of you.
@Bumblybee256. its a lot like locking whites up for using the n-word but saying blacks have the right to use it because they are black. its not fair, as a black man from the inner city raised by a single mom, i think people can use whatever word they want to and people need to stop being so sensitive. i think homosexuality is wrong but i support gay marriage because its fair. we can not discriminate against men like this and not expect social consequences. this is why america is failing.
@Bumblybee256. because abortees and deadbeats are one in the same. they dont want to have kids so they stop supporting it (aborting it so it dies so they arent financially repsonsible) just like deadbeat fathers who dont want kids and therefore (dont support it nor raise it). the only difference is the women had the baby killed and wonot be locked up while the man will be locked up and force to pay child support once released or locked up if he doesnt work and the cycle continues w/ interest.
@mykole84 er no- abortion is about wanting to discontinue a pregnancy, if it was about money then the child could be given for adoption. The man knows if he has sex he has no choice over whether a child is born- what you are suggesting is letting any born children suffer.
@Bumblybee256. abortion is discontinuing pregnancy because the mother is not ready and/or doesnt want to be a mom. deadbeat is the same thing. the funny thing is i believe man should man up and take care of responsibility but i also believe a woman should not abort her and her partner's kid. but i also believe in person al liberties and because i believe something is wrong doesnt make it right for us to force people to things they dont wanna do like continue pregnancy or pay child support.
@mykole84 Abortion is reclaiming body autonomy when you don't want your body to be used. That is not the same as financial responsibilities (which- btw women have aswell). Abortion is absolutely none of your business, you can't believe in personal liberties if you think women don't have the same right to autonomy as men. If the child is actually born then both parents have a duty towards it- even if that means finding other care.
@Bumblybee256. being a deadbeat is reclaiming finanacial autonomy. how can a women be 100% in control of the baby and at birth that changes. people cant have their cake and eat it too. if u dont want to include men in decision making then why do u think its ok to force responsibility onto men when during the whole pregnancy he is treated as not even a parent. i mean because a parent would have the right to save which men dont have.
@mykole84 Because when the fetus is inside her it is living off her body and when it is born somebody else can take care of it if needs be. Very simple. You seem to be having problems understanding what autonomy is. As I have now said to you countless times- a man has no rights over pregnancy because the woman owns her own body and decides how it is used. He has responsibilities towards the child if it is born because he is half responsible for making it. That fact does not equal pregnancy right
@Bumblybee256. according to your logic if a woman know the man is gonna be a deadbeat its irresponsible for her to bring a child into the world he doesnt want just as is wrong for him to force her to have a baby she doesnt want. this is fair people should have a choice. the govt shouldnt be forcing people to be parents neither men nor women. people keep saying if a man doesnt want a baby he shouldnt have sex but why doesnt that apply to women as well. equality is needed.
@mykole84 No, I already said he should make his intentions clear around the same time she would get an abortion so she knows what the situation would be. It doesn't apply to women because women can abort and men can't. Supporting your child is not being forced to be a parent.
@Bumblybee256. supporting a child u did not want is forcing someone to be a parent. well i guess forcing a women to have a baby is not forcing her to be a mom because someone else can raise it (because according to you only those that raise it are parent which i agree) and then she can pay child support to the kids she didnt want to have. but she is not forced to be a parent because she is not raising all she is doing is supporting it. we shouldnt force parenthood on people.
@mykole84 But as I have already said, he should have the chance to sign off rights around the same time she could choose an abortion, and that signing off should be irreversible. No- a parent is not merely a money bag. No man is forced to be a parent.
@Bumblybee256. if his not a parent why are we forcing him to pay. we c forcing us to pay as women c forcing yall 2 have an abortion. no parenting means none. financial support is a part of that. would u wanna financially support someone u never wanted. if so u can pay me $250 a month. i also believe a women divorcing a man shouldnt get alimony. if u r dumping a person u accept what come after that. samething if i say i dont want a kid and u have it anyway, women are not forced to be single moms.
@mykole84 Because the child is partly his responsibility. Em no- paying for a person that you helped create is not teh same as forcing yourself on someone's body. Women are forced to be single mums if the partner walks off. Who forces men to put their name on the birth certificate? Why should men have no responsibility when it comes to sex when women have more to deal with either way?
@Bumblybee256. if the child is his responsibility why doesnt a man have say w/ abortion. that hypocritical. either men are responsible or they r not. why must a man b enslaved to a woman decision while a woman not to a man. what make woman better than us or what makes men worse than women? women can abort, give up for adoptoin and even abandon. why cant men have one right. women have 3 way not to be financially responsible at all. y is it so hard 2 give men one. why so much hate against men?
@mykole84 Because he does not own the woman's body and because I said 'child' not 'pregnancy'. The man is responsible for the child if it is born. You're not enslaved to anything- you know what sex does, you know you don't own the uterus, you know you can back out during the pregnancy and if you don't sign the birth certificate- but if you hang around and sign it then you should have to support. Are you actually trying to play the victim? You haven't answered my question.
Respond to this video... [I have three daughters. One is a college professor, one is an attorney, and one a public school teacher. Between the three of them they have eight college degrees. So much for the “inferior genes”]

@MassillonJill. i dont know y u hate men, but men cant give birth, that is soomething only a women can do but that still doesnt negate that the kids is 50% mom/50% dad. as a father of 3 beautiful daughter who r 5 months, 3 & 5 years. im only 26 year old and u must b crazy if fatherhood stop at the penis. u r consider us sperm banks & thats like calling all women spern dumps which they r not. ur ideology actually induces singl motherhod. i mean who need a man bs so prevelant nowadays
@mykole84 Depends on how active you are in your child's life. IMHO, a father's involvement in his children's lives is just as important as the mothers. It's the fathers who do a disappearing act at some time after conception who are the ones who should not get a second chance to procreate.
Thank you, Sec. Clinton, for providing that gentleman with that compassionate and well-reasoned answer to his ignorant question, which he has probably heard the answer to before, but still chooses to ignore because he does not support women's rights to health.
@cathlicscholboy4life BULLSHIT ... women's rights. What about the rights of the unborn? What about the rights of the father? Doesn't he have a say if the mother chooses abortion? It's his kid too, you know.
this is my view exactly.. when i say that i 'support' abortion it doesn't meant that i favour the act being done randomly and without thought. but sometimes it has to be done and she really managed to say her thoughts clearly and carefully !!
This was a great moment for Mrs. Clinton. It takes courage to speak the truth in frank and unadulterated language about something so controversial. She definitely came away with the moral upper hand.
@mproctornz - Except that it can NEVER be safe, as the goal of the operation is the death of one of the people involved, it may be legal, but only so much as the Supreme Court made a decision based on no precedent, and as for rare... there are around 1 MILLION abortions a year in this country, I wouldn't say that they are rare either.
IN Georgia they are introducing a law that if a woman cannot prove that there was "no human involvement" -(without specifying what human involvement is) in a miscarriage, she will be tried for a felony murder. This is were we are headed.
No one knows what causes miscarriages, 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. This goes way beyond elective abortions.
@MrMusicFlood Attacks on women's rights are mostly coming at the state level. I don't think the Obama administration can do much about Colorado's efforts to define fertilized eggs as full citizens, for instance. Or Georgia's efforts to make miscarriage punishable by death. Internationally, it's the churches.
As for the issue of government funding of PPH, I am only left wondering where this notion that access to birth control and related health care is a right. It is not. It is a privilege. Society is not indebted to individuals simply because they exist! What is a right however, is my right to private property-meaning the money that I pay in taxes to the government, and I don't want my money going to PPH. If you lack the means to provide yourself with birth control then don't have sex! It's simple!
@ace625 3% of PP's budget is abortions, which by law, cannot be funded by federal funds anyway. Cutting its budgets means cuts in STI services, cancer screenings, and contraceptive supplies. Also, I hope you never have a daughter.
@ace625 If the poor girl has parents who don't think she has a right to reproductive health care, your daughter will be sneaking off to Planned Parenthood to get the help she needs without your knowledge.
@NotADood No, she wouldn't because I would provide the money for her to have access to private care. What I wouldn't do however is tell her to go search for handouts from the government. I would install a little thing called "pride" in my children, something nobody seems to value anymore.
@ace625 Because teenage girls are so eager to tell their fathers about their reproductive healthcare needs. Especially when their fathers are antichoice control freaks devoid of empathy. She'll go behind your back. Count on it.
@ace625 yeah it's remarkably simple to just make sure you never get raped or coerced into sex.
remarkably simple to never get molested. remarkably simple for so many girls as young as 12 -14 to be manipulated into having sex with grown ass men simply because of a desperate economic situation like a place to sleep or food. America has a million homeless children. 1 in 4 women are sexually assaulted. And those are just those that are reported. so I guess it's just that freaking simple.
@xKineticSparks If somebody attacked you and broke your leg, as unfortunate as that would be, should I have to pay for your treatment if you can't? Another's misfortune does not implicate me. In a perfect world, the government redtape that currently clogs up the medical industry would be abolished and prices for services like abortions would fall.
I mean by that logic we should also never pay for police or firefighters if we personally have never encountered any specific need for them. Did I go to private school? yes. Do I feel bothered that my family pays taxes that go towards public school? no. I don't really see a difference.
@xKineticSparks You're ignoring the possibility of voluntary taxation/privatized police and firefighter companies. There are many rural communities today whose fire companies operate on monthly fees paid by residents. If I own a home I have strong incentive to pay fifty or seventy-five dollar fee every month to assure that my property is protected.
And if I were you, I would be bothered that thousands of dollars of my parents money went to strangers.
The timing on this couldn't be better - I'm not asking for the world, just some damn reason. Family planning makes sense. But abortion, though it must remain legal, is an atrocity. From WaPo: washingtonpost...com/wp-
/content/article/2011/02/18/AR2011021802434.html
If you can't make it over to the article, I will sum it up for you: stop f'ing acting like a fetus/baby's skull is as insignificant as a soda can when it gets crushed. Act like you've seen a 20 week sonogram, people.
pro-life people are pussies, I challenge any pro-life moron to a fight and I promise you I will hit the ground running, come out swinging, and end up winning
I always thought liberals were right on tons of things (seriously): gay marriage is no one's business. The government should care for the downtrodden. The environment should trump big business. But I'll go all the way and add murder to the things I now agree on. Because a "fetus" is not a live being. And "termination" is "life adjustment" for those humans who would suffer at the hands of an apathetic or ill-equipped mother. It's JUST a choice with no other factors. Now let's go save the whales!
Even though every comment gets bogged down with trolling and opinionated pontification. Can I just say, Hillary makes so much damn sense here, and is very clear, and compassionate sounding. I know she's tired up in Washington BS, and all that goes with that, but this is clear, brilliant, and makes me proud to be an American. That such well thought out arguments and compassion is still alive today in a world of tea parties and Glenn Becks, shows there is hope for America.
I find it funny how people judge me for commenting. I never said I would make a law, but abortion is sad. For the record: I have compassion for all living things including women who have abortions. I have compassion for animals and deplore the food industry. I think how the republicans treat kids once they are born is deplorable. But that does not make abortion okay. These babies can feel pain. And for someone to have sex and then decide they want to terminate a life is not justifiable.
@jtwestful Who told you these babies can feel pain? It's not true. Whether abortion is sad or not can be debated but only with real facts. Please do some more research on this. Fetuses do not feel any pain before 24 weeks, they exist in a state of sedation up to and after that time. Their brains are not developed to the point where they can feel it. You need to research nonpartisan medical groups who have no fight in the abortion law rather than just take the word of a pro-life backed study.
@jtwestful google Jama+fetal pain." Evidence regarding the capacity for fetal pain is limited but indicates that fetal perception of pain is unlikely before the third trimester." From JAMA 2005 There are larger studies done since that say the same thing. And you are the one who brought up the pain argument. If you don't think it's that important, then stop bringing it up.
The truth is, over nine in ten abortions occur in the first half of gestation and it isn't until about week five that embryologists say a baby is able to feel pain. There is a neural cord that at that time opens up and, presumably, enables sensations. Furthermore, after four and a half weeks of pregnancy, physicians decline to perform abortions because at that time they pose a serious health risk and unless there are maternal health reasons that outweigh that risk, the woman's stuck.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Half a hospital full of "botched abortions"? She's such a hero! Yuck. That's a problem with humanity. Abortion as birth control is the most disgusting act of our time. Most people who have previously commented probably hate Michael Vick but view a woman who terminates a life as some sort of hero (it is behind the abdominal wall, so it's not murder). What the hell is wrong with this world?
@Notad00d Yes, so easy. Because I judged when? I said abortion is deplorable and it is. Never said I would regulate it. If Clinton is a hero for this, our society is doomed.
@jtwestful What's deplorable is forcing women to carry unwanted and unsafe pregnancies to term, denying them the means to prevent those pregnancies in the first place, and cutting off the public services they need to care for their children.
@jtwestful An unborn fetus shouldn't have more rights than it's mother. If a woman is unable or unprepared to bring a child into the world and raise it to the best of her abilities, who are you to say that she must? That is just condeming two people to a more difficult life for the sake of upholding your closed-minded beliefs. Mind your own business and let people live their own life.
@sporky111, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I repeat: abortion as birth control is sick. Half a ward in Brazil had abortions. And we think that's normal. It's called attempted murder, folks.
@jtwestful A child shouldn't have to suffer the mistakes of it's mother. The whole, "you've made your bed, now lie in it" argument doesn't really work in this situation. The pain a fetus may feel when being aborted is nothing to the pain it would feel of being raised by parents that don't want it/are unable to care for it properly or the pain of growing up in the current system of adoption and foster agencies. It's horrible that you're advocating punishing a child for the mistakes of its parents
@jtwestful Oh, I'm sure you don't have to worry about getting any dumber. Just because I'm not a ideologically blinded right-wing zealot. I happen to be a Christian, and I think He didn't make any man a judge. He is the only judge, and you have no right to tell anyone how they can live. Not to mention that 'Christian' values, as you understand them, have no place in the politics of a nation which welcomes people of all faiths.
@sporky111 "I happen to be a Christian, and I think He didn't make any man a judge?" But yet the pervasive rationale among this group seems to be: "save a child from a mother's mistake." We have people here playing the ultimate judge by giving someone else the power to use murder as a means of birth control. I'll say it one last time: I don't care to mandate pro-life policies. But murder is a question apart. If I view something as murder, I have the right to speak out.
@jtwestful Stop saying abortion is birth control. Birth control is measures taken to prevent conception. In the case of accidental pregnancy or rape (or just a mistake on the mother's part. It happens) then the mother should be allowed to choose what she can do with her own body. Until birth, a fetus is part of the mother's body. If you want to fight murder, become a vegetarian, speak out against war, convince people not to own weapons. Do something that could actually help someone.
@sporky111 A fetus is a living being. For the record, helping to fight inhumane animal treatment is part of my life's work. It's possible that my defense of life goes further than yours, isn't it? Termination of a fetus/person/life to reverse a sexual indiscretion is foul. What is it if not murder, and not birth control? A decision? Do you realize how foolish this sounds? Please note that I've said repeatedly you cannot mandate keeping a baby. But do not gloss over murder and barbarism.
@jtwestful We're not going to agree on this. But I believe that abortion is not murder, in the same way that next of kin can "pull the plug" on a loved one and it's not murder. I think that a woman is entitled to choose what she does with her own fetus before birth. You are defending a concept, an ideal, just a word. I am defending people, I am defending choice. Laws are in place to protect us from others, America is far too eager to put laws in place that simply limit a person's rights
The reason Hillary is a hero for saying this is because family planning will lead to LESS abortions, and less BOTCHED abortions. It does not take a genius to figure out if you cut funding to programs that offer contraception that more pregnancies will occur and they will still be unwanted and lead to higher abortion rates.
It's funny how conservatives feel that it's the government's responsibility to protect a child before birth, but then after birth work to cut medicaid, early childhood assistance, access to healthcare, education funding, ect.
@mykole84 We're 'acting like men are bad' because the majority of the irresponsible men decide to cut and run when a big surprise lands on their doorstep, leaving the baby with the irresponsible mother. So why is it that a man can choose to not deal with the kid but the woman can't? I'm not saying all men are evil but they certainly get a break in terms of having to deal with kids. Also, women who get pregnant for the sole purpose to take a man's hard earned cash are skumbags indeed.
@Mimmiroo Conventional wisdom is almost always the opposite of reality. It's more often the case that men sabotage birth control to get women pregnant to assert power over them, then leave those women and children in the lurch.
@Notad00d Ug, your whole reply is sadness :'( Sadly I know someone whose dating a guy who's manhood is so threatened by her he keeps telling her to get a job, then yells at her for having a job and not taking care of the kids. This world we live in...
@mykole84 You absolutely miss the point. This is not a conversation about what happens in relationships between consenting adult men and women. She's talking about girls and young women who are exploited in other countries, who are denied or can't access basic health care, who have been raped, even possibly forced into the sex trade. Don't let your personal experiences cloud your ability to recognize there are others in far worse circumstances than you will ever know.
We need this now more than ever. As the Republicans wage their war on women's rights, we need to let them know that we are not going to stand idly by and let them get away with this.
I'm so happy that smart, brave, and incredibly just women like Hillary still exist in a government full of cowardly, ignorant people. Here's to many, many years of Hillary speaking truth!
Women leaders, such as Secretary Clinton, give me hope for a better tomorrow.

@Elliotvisualeffects If there's a "real change" next time, it will almost definitely be one for the worse.
toungetied98 10 months ago
@mykole84 good for you. But you're not the one that had to carry them for 9 months. I give props to your wife for enduring that but not every woman wants to. It happens even when all precautions are taken. Also in rape cases, a woman shouldn't be forced to bear the child knowing it's a seed of violence, not of love. Until the baby's heart starts beating, medically speaking it is a parasite. And until that heart starts beating a woman should have the right to remove that parasite from her body
SwedishFisherman 10 months ago
@SwedishFisherman. everyone is a parasite of someone else. no one is independent and capable of truly living alone. we all need someone else. the definition of rape changes too much for me what it is. rape as in forceful sex can go both ways. a man is forced to take care of a kids he didnt want. i can support abortion right when the same support is supplied to men are deadbeats. its hypocritical to allow abortions but lock men up for being deadbeats. im not being mean just fair and fair is fair.
mykole84 10 months ago
@mykole84 er, no, physically living off someone's body is not teh same as living off benefit. We have this thing called body autonomy- that's why rape is wrong, that's why forced organ donation is wrong- so too, is forced continuation of pregnancy.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. babies in the wounds are not parasites. forcing men to support a baby he didnt want is as wrong as forcing a women to have a baby she dont want. we must be fair. it seems most are about only giving choice to women and not to men. im not saying men can force women to have abortion, im saying men shouldnt be arrested for not supporting kids they never wanted. its fair. im about equality and nothing less.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 They are to women who aren't willingly carrying the pregnancy. Actually- giving men the go ahead to sleep around irresponsibly and put it all on women is not fair. Whether women have an abortion or give birth there are consequences and you are suggesting men should have none. And what you said bears no elation to the last message I sent you- there's was nothing in there about men.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. a man will have consequences regardless, if he choose not financially abort he will live with that for the rest of his life as women do when they physically abort. a woman know whats she's getting into when she has sex, why cant she can she be liberated from responsibility and not a man. its prejudice to exclude men. it wrong to force a women to be a mom but ok to force a man to be a dad. its not right. no compassion for men, shaming deadbeats, praising abortees. just sad.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Lol- no he doesn't! What's to stop a man leaving a trail of unsupported disadvantaged children behind him? Having an abortion is not being liberated from responsibility, it is taking responsibility and quite different from leaving a child who is born without financial support. Given that men know they don't own the equipment and can't abort (and they know this) then it is up to them to risk it. If men want to sign off rights it should be around the same time a women get abortions.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
LOL- somehow having an abortion is responsible. U have an abortion because u dont want to be pregnant yet u had sex which had the consequence of causing a pregnancy. im not seeing a responsible person. but somehow a man who has sex and has no decision making in the whole process is more irresponsible if he leaves. talk about sexism, thats sexist. somehow women dont have to risk but men do. do u really think that is fair to treat men like 2nd class citizens? why so much hate against men?
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Sex is not a contract and it is not just for procreation. Women have every right to enjoy a sex life without consenting to carrying a pregnancy. What you see is irrelevant, what another woman allows or doesn't allow to use her uterus is none of your business. Sounds to me like you think women should have all the responsibility and men non- answer my question- who forces men to sign the birth certificate? Your victim'playing questions at the end just look like trolling now. Ridiculous.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. ur lack of compassion 2wards men is incredible. my opinion as a man doesnt count, if that isnt neglect, idk what is. woman's uterus, man's wallet. if a woman sleeps with a bumb y should the govt correct her irresponsibility. its a no win for women if they abort no financial consequence and if they have he still has to play. imagine if men had the ability to block abortions and not pay child support. women would be complaining rightfully as that 2nd class citizenry.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Erm, no dear. Your sense of self entitlement is incredible. It is not neglect to say that you do not have a say over what happens to a woman's body- it belongs to her. Or should I have a say over who gets to use your organs? It is disgusting that you would compare a woman's body to money. Why don't you compare the use of two bodies- are there any laws telling you that you have to let another being use your body? I don't think so- that's what sexist. Actually- abortions cost money.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@mykole84 I REPEAT- who forces men to sign the birth certificate? Looks like your entire argument falls on it's ass, sexist idiot.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. funny how men are forced to pay child support until proven not to be the father. they can even be locked up if they refuse to take a dna test. what if u dont want to take a dna test but know u r not the father. child support should not be mandatory, if a man doesnt want to support his kids, why should we force him. id a women doesnt want to have her kids why should we force her. somehow women are more special to you than men. seems like the only sexist idiot is u.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Lol, where do you live? Where I live men are not forced to take paternity tests and are not forced to sign the birth certificate. I smell BS coming from your direction. You clearly haven't thought this through- supporting live children who need to be fed and clothed is a different thing entirely to allowing a pregnancy to continue. In the former case actual suffering occurs. How selfish of you.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago 3
@Bumblybee256. its a lot like locking whites up for using the n-word but saying blacks have the right to use it because they are black. its not fair, as a black man from the inner city raised by a single mom, i think people can use whatever word they want to and people need to stop being so sensitive. i think homosexuality is wrong but i support gay marriage because its fair. we can not discriminate against men like this and not expect social consequences. this is why america is failing.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 and just out of interest- why would you 'shame abortees'?
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. because abortees and deadbeats are one in the same. they dont want to have kids so they stop supporting it (aborting it so it dies so they arent financially repsonsible) just like deadbeat fathers who dont want kids and therefore (dont support it nor raise it). the only difference is the women had the baby killed and wonot be locked up while the man will be locked up and force to pay child support once released or locked up if he doesnt work and the cycle continues w/ interest.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 er no- abortion is about wanting to discontinue a pregnancy, if it was about money then the child could be given for adoption. The man knows if he has sex he has no choice over whether a child is born- what you are suggesting is letting any born children suffer.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. abortion is discontinuing pregnancy because the mother is not ready and/or doesnt want to be a mom. deadbeat is the same thing. the funny thing is i believe man should man up and take care of responsibility but i also believe a woman should not abort her and her partner's kid. but i also believe in person al liberties and because i believe something is wrong doesnt make it right for us to force people to things they dont wanna do like continue pregnancy or pay child support.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Abortion is reclaiming body autonomy when you don't want your body to be used. That is not the same as financial responsibilities (which- btw women have aswell). Abortion is absolutely none of your business, you can't believe in personal liberties if you think women don't have the same right to autonomy as men. If the child is actually born then both parents have a duty towards it- even if that means finding other care.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. being a deadbeat is reclaiming finanacial autonomy. how can a women be 100% in control of the baby and at birth that changes. people cant have their cake and eat it too. if u dont want to include men in decision making then why do u think its ok to force responsibility onto men when during the whole pregnancy he is treated as not even a parent. i mean because a parent would have the right to save which men dont have.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Because when the fetus is inside her it is living off her body and when it is born somebody else can take care of it if needs be. Very simple. You seem to be having problems understanding what autonomy is. As I have now said to you countless times- a man has no rights over pregnancy because the woman owns her own body and decides how it is used. He has responsibilities towards the child if it is born because he is half responsible for making it. That fact does not equal pregnancy right
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. according to your logic if a woman know the man is gonna be a deadbeat its irresponsible for her to bring a child into the world he doesnt want just as is wrong for him to force her to have a baby she doesnt want. this is fair people should have a choice. the govt shouldnt be forcing people to be parents neither men nor women. people keep saying if a man doesnt want a baby he shouldnt have sex but why doesnt that apply to women as well. equality is needed.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 No, I already said he should make his intentions clear around the same time she would get an abortion so she knows what the situation would be. It doesn't apply to women because women can abort and men can't. Supporting your child is not being forced to be a parent.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. supporting a child u did not want is forcing someone to be a parent. well i guess forcing a women to have a baby is not forcing her to be a mom because someone else can raise it (because according to you only those that raise it are parent which i agree) and then she can pay child support to the kids she didnt want to have. but she is not forced to be a parent because she is not raising all she is doing is supporting it. we shouldnt force parenthood on people.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 But as I have already said, he should have the chance to sign off rights around the same time she could choose an abortion, and that signing off should be irreversible. No- a parent is not merely a money bag. No man is forced to be a parent.
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. if his not a parent why are we forcing him to pay. we c forcing us to pay as women c forcing yall 2 have an abortion. no parenting means none. financial support is a part of that. would u wanna financially support someone u never wanted. if so u can pay me $250 a month. i also believe a women divorcing a man shouldnt get alimony. if u r dumping a person u accept what come after that. samething if i say i dont want a kid and u have it anyway, women are not forced to be single moms.
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Because the child is partly his responsibility. Em no- paying for a person that you helped create is not teh same as forcing yourself on someone's body. Women are forced to be single mums if the partner walks off. Who forces men to put their name on the birth certificate? Why should men have no responsibility when it comes to sex when women have more to deal with either way?
Bumblybee256 9 months ago
@Bumblybee256. if the child is his responsibility why doesnt a man have say w/ abortion. that hypocritical. either men are responsible or they r not. why must a man b enslaved to a woman decision while a woman not to a man. what make woman better than us or what makes men worse than women? women can abort, give up for adoptoin and even abandon. why cant men have one right. women have 3 way not to be financially responsible at all. y is it so hard 2 give men one. why so much hate against men?
mykole84 9 months ago
@mykole84 Because he does not own the woman's body and because I said 'child' not 'pregnancy'. The man is responsible for the child if it is born. You're not enslaved to anything- you know what sex does, you know you don't own the uterus, you know you can back out during the pregnancy and if you don't sign the birth certificate- but if you hang around and sign it then you should have to support. Are you actually trying to play the victim? You haven't answered my question.

It's simple!
ace625 1 year ago
@ace625 3% of PP's budget is abortions, which by law, cannot be funded by federal funds anyway. Cutting its budgets means cuts in STI services, cancer screenings, and contraceptive supplies. Also, I hope you never have a daughter.
ThePaperParade 1 year ago 4
@ThePaperParade If I ever had a daughter she wouldn't have to rely on the government for health care ;)
ace625 11 months ago
@ace625 If the poor girl has parents who don't think she has a right to reproductive health care, your daughter will be sneaking off to Planned Parenthood to get the help she needs without your knowledge.
NotADood 11 months ago
@NotADood No, she wouldn't because I would provide the money for her to have access to private care. What I wouldn't do however is tell her to go search for handouts from the government. I would install a little thing called "pride" in my children, something nobody seems to value anymore.
ace625 11 months ago
@ace625 Because teenage girls are so eager to tell their fathers about their reproductive healthcare needs. Especially when their fathers are antichoice control freaks devoid of empathy. She'll go behind your back. Count on it.
NotADood 11 months ago
@ace625 yeah it's remarkably simple to just make sure you never get raped or coerced into sex.
remarkably simple to never get molested. remarkably simple for so many girls as young as 12 -14 to be manipulated into having sex with grown ass men simply because of a desperate economic situation like a place to sleep or food. America has a million homeless children. 1 in 4 women are sexually assaulted. And those are just those that are reported. so I guess it's just that freaking simple.
xKineticSparks 1 year ago 5
@xKineticSparks If somebody attacked you and broke your leg, as unfortunate as that would be, should I have to pay for your treatment if you can't? Another's misfortune does not implicate me. In a perfect world, the government redtape that currently clogs up the medical industry would be abolished and prices for services like abortions would fall.
ace625 11 months ago
@ace625
I mean by that logic we should also never pay for police or firefighters if we personally have never encountered any specific need for them. Did I go to private school? yes. Do I feel bothered that my family pays taxes that go towards public school? no. I don't really see a difference.
xKineticSparks 11 months ago
@xKineticSparks You're ignoring the possibility of voluntary taxation/privatized police and firefighter companies. There are many rural communities today whose fire companies operate on monthly fees paid by residents. If I own a home I have strong incentive to pay fifty or seventy-five dollar fee every month to assure that my property is protected.
And if I were you, I would be bothered that thousands of dollars of my parents money went to strangers.

And for someone to have sex and then decide they want to terminate a life is not justifiable.
jtwestful 1 year ago
@jtwestful Who told you these babies can feel pain? It's not true. Whether abortion is sad or not can be debated but only with real facts. Please do some more research on this. Fetuses do not feel any pain before 24 weeks, they exist in a state of sedation up to and after that time. Their brains are not developed to the point where they can feel it. You need to research nonpartisan medical groups who have no fight in the abortion law rather than just take the word of a pro-life backed study.
BowedOak1 1 year ago
@BowedOak1 24 weeks? That's widely disputed across JAMA and other respected publications. And it's besides the point. Pain is a secondary argument.
jtwestful 1 year ago
@jtwestful google Jama+fetal pain." Evidence regarding the capacity for fetal pain is limited but indicates that fetal perception of pain is unlikely before the third trimester." From JAMA 2005 There are larger studies done since that say the same thing. And you are the one who brought up the pain argument. If you don't think it's that important, then stop bringing it up.
BowedOak1 1 year ago
@jtwestful

What the hell is wrong with this world?

jtwestful 1 year ago
@jtwestful What's deplorable is forcing women to carry unwanted and unsafe pregnancies to term, denying them the means to prevent those pregnancies in the first place, and cutting off the public services they need to care for their children.
NotADood 11 months ago
@jtwestful An unborn fetus shouldn't have more rights than it's mother. If a woman is unable or unprepared to bring a child into the world and raise it to the best of her abilities, who are you to say that she must? That is just condeming two people to a more difficult life for the sake of upholding your closed-minded beliefs. Mind your own business and let people live their own life.
sporky111 1 year ago 7
@sporky111, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I repeat: abortion as birth control is sick. Half a ward in Brazil had abortions. And we think that's normal. It's called attempted murder, folks.
jtwestful 1 year ago

If I view something as murder, I have the right to speak out.
jtwestful 1 year ago
@jtwestful Stop saying abortion is birth control. Birth control is measures taken to prevent conception. In the case of accidental pregnancy or rape (or just a mistake on the mother's part. It happens) then the mother should be allowed to choose what she can do with her own body. Until birth, a fetus is part of the mother's body. If you want to fight murder, become a vegetarian, speak out against war, convince people not to own weapons. Do something that could actually help someone.
sporky111 1 year ago 4
@sporky111 A fetus is a living being. For the record, helping to fight inhumane animal treatment is part of my life's work. It's possible that my defense of life goes further than yours, isn't it? Termination of a fetus/person/life to reverse a sexual indiscretion is foul. What is it if not murder, and not birth control? A decision? Do you realize how foolish this sounds? Please note that I've said repeatedly you cannot mandate keeping a baby. But do not gloss over murder and barbarism.
jtwestful 1 year ago

If anyone doubts her credibility in the political arena this will set them straight. How could this 'question' be answered any better?
And she shuts that shit down LIKE A BOSS.

It's funny how conservatives feel that it's the government's responsibility to protect a child before birth, but then after birth work to cut medicaid, early childhood assistance, access to healthcare, education funding, ect.
1goliathbnr 1 year ago 6
@mykole84 We're 'acting like men are bad' because the majority of the irresponsible men decide to cut and run when a big surprise lands on their doorstep, leaving the baby with the irresponsible mother. So why is it that a man can choose to not deal with the kid but the woman can't? I'm not saying all men are evil but they certainly get a break in terms of having to deal with kids. Also, women who get pregnant for the sole purpose to take a man's hard earned cash are skumbags indeed.
Mimmiroo 1 year ago
@Mimmiroo Conventional wisdom is almost always the opposite of reality. It's more often the case that men sabotage birth control to get women pregnant to assert power over them, then leave those women and children in the lurch.

@Notad00d Ug, your whole reply is sadness :'( Sadly I know someone whose dating a guy who's manhood is so threatened by her he keeps telling her to get a job, then yells at her for having a job and not taking care of the kids. This world we live in...

@Mimmiroo I hope your friend is able to dump that guy.
