  • thanks!

that was the simplest explanation I've seen yet

  • Thank you...That was a great tutorial, very easy to follow!

  • I can open my background image but I can't seem to open my second image and a layer. How do I do this?

  • very nice..... but I've done everything but the gardiere fades to white, not to may background image.

    thanks

  • nice one!

  • @vivamuss77 : hey, how are you?

i've got a problem doing this , every time I try to do it it turn aout faiding from black to white insted of faiding the images, can you help me please??

    tanks

  • im doing exactly what you say but when i do the shift+gradient down or any direction, nothing fades or makes a difference.

i made sure everything clicked or checked was done so.

  • I found that the mode was changed to screen instead of normal and the same was occuring. Try changing the setting back to normal and you should be okay.

  • Im having trouble opening two images. When I open the 2nd one. I cant see the 1st one :-(

  • You have to resize the 2nd pic to make it smaller and then the other ones will appear

  • its really great. i tried it out! and i found a way how to do it with a lot of pictures.

  • cool!!! you are the guru! :)

  • When I use the gradient tool it does not show the background picture but when I print black with brush it does, for some reason the gradient tool is not working, help.

  • I think my program is defective because when I have Photoshop CS3 open and I open two different pictures, I can't get both pictures to be in the same layer box. They just have their own layer box which I can't do what this tutorial shows. And also, all those options you see right above the picture doesn't appear on mine either. Only the toolbar for CS3 shows.

  • You have to have them both semi minimized and use the move tool to grab on of the photos into the other.

  • wow best tutorial ever

  • hey photo guru... gr8 tutorial ... thnx

  • hey i already have the two photos on top of each other but i dont see anything on my screen where i can add mass... as a result whenever i do the gradient thing the two picture won't blend. anything i didn't do?

  • Make sure your background and foreground colors are default, and then Alt + Click the Layer Mask icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.

  • Hi i need your help i been trying to work on this trick with 2 pictures but still having trouble this are the steps maybe you can tell me what im doing wrong?

Step 1 open my 2 images

step 2 choose an image an press Ctrl A then Ctrol C but when i choose my other image and press Ctrl B. it pop ups a window that say's Color balance???

can someone helpme please Step by Step, thank you

  • Press Ctrl + V to paste it into a new layer.

  • thanks

  • i tried to copy a human to the background, but when i put him to the background only his arm was there.. what should i do?

  • hey thanks for the great help. But is it possible to make a collage of more than 2 photos? everytime i try to use the gradient tool to reveal the 3rd photo, the previous effect would have been gone. pls help! :)

  • Before you add the third photo, flatten the previous layers (Crl + E), or flatten all visible layers to a new layer (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E. Add your 3rd photo as a new layer, and apply the gradient to complete the collage.

  • thanks!

    :)

  • Can photoshop files from earlier versions of photoshop (photoshop 5.5) be opened on photoshop cs3?

  • I'm not sure. I would imagine CS3 can open any PSD file. Have you tried the trial version, or do you own CS3?

  • I followed you word for word and it did not work for me. Am I missing something right before the gradient tool? I can't get my shift and click to drag to work.

  • Make sure you click the layer mask before using the gradient tool.

  • excellent tutorial made so simple to understand!!!
