Philly ruled the 70's like Motown ruled the 60's...There should have been so much more coverage in the media and then Philly writers, producers, arrangers, and artists would be as well respected as the soul artists of the 60's. They are equally as talented, just not as well known except by serious music fans (LIKE ME!)..I am especially disappointed that more of the writers aren't recognized beyond Gamble, Huff, Bell, and Creed!

I've also noticed that mint copies are going for good money. The record sold well back then, but I guess copies are getting pretty scarce now. Parkway and Cameo 45s will have an intrinsic collectability as long as Dick Clark refuses to reissue their catalogs.

This record proves:

1. DeeDee can really sing.

2. Cameo made great non-obvious dance records.

3. A string arrangement can enhance a record.

4. PJ has great taste

5. We all have favorite records that skip (dang it!)

I appreciate the very kind comments. Dee Dee did a few gems as well as the Cameo/Parkway company. This is not a very rare record but it is rather hard to find clean. Ride! was a party song and unless you find a store stock copy these are usually beat. Luckily, because they did press up a lot of copies, I'll run into a cleaner copy one day.
