Elevator music...... ?????????? This man was an extremely talented musician and mixer and tone musician...... Elevator music????? I dont think so speaking as a musician myself.........
Dit liedje was ondermeer bekend van sportpark de ''berckt'' in baarlo! met de hotrod rijders echt oude memmorie's ik vergeet het nooit meer met sjeng smidt aan de kop, standaard klasse!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever he plays it's full of surprises and always perfectly presented. Great musician... Q: Will ever anyone equal or even surpass him? I doubt it... because a KW master turns only every 500 years up. Thus, count yourself lucky having witnessed his talent...
Yea yea yea, say it's cheesy, say it's lounge music but you know, I say it's great. I used to remember this dude playing with James Last when I was a kid: I loved those shows and I love this music. Magic! And to think he did this without sequencers! Genius, pure genius.
So the question remains, was the first part a tone wheel Hammond or not a tone wheel Hammond? Whether it was a tone wheel Hammond or not a tone wheel Hammond, it sounds great to me!
This is interesting in that this is represented as being Hammond. Klaus later in his career allied himself heavily with the Wersi organ Co in Germany. He recorded a great deal on analog Wersi instruments which were excellent. This is outstanding as Klaus usually was, but the first part is definitely not a tone wheel Hammond.
@rockymntain I guess so! Since "Tico Tico" sort of pioneered in the 1940s. To my knowledge, Ademilde Fonseca released one of the first EVER recordings of this on shellac back in 1942.
wow this is really great. i know it is in bad taste to demand things here on youtube, but is it possible you could upload these songs in their entirety somewhere? i love tico tico and have always wanted some of wunderlich's renditions!

The very first part recorded in 1959 was definitely a tone wheel generator Hammond C3
After that all sound very similar to me...A Hammond H-100 is particularly confusing to me is a Wersi alike.
I admire Wersis, but I prefer the warm TWG Hammonds

Hearing this just makes me wanna smile...
I found one of his old record as
a 7 year old boy, in my granphas attic, with a hammond
organ as a closeup image. It looked so
special that i just had to play it,
and i was stuck! I played it
over and over again. Most have been a
record from beginning of the 70´s. Tico Tico, Lovestory, hummle fly song, and more.

He was also the man who made the Hammond look silly and cheap and made for elevatormusic.
HammondB200 4 years ago
You can't deny the cat's got chops.
A Hammond can never sound cheap. It can only be played badly.
By the way, the organ on this track is not a B-3 - and does sound cheap!
