  • Good info keep up the good work I'm getting a j pouch soon

  • leading to messes, which makes my grandma very emotional due to the psychological impact. ive looked for different wafers, maybe bigger ones but i haven't had any luck. we have to go with her to chemotherapy and it's really hard with the wafer coming off, and she can't miss a single session. please help us. thank you.

  • @boredtodeath88 I am sorry to hear about your grandma, leaks on an appliance are very troublesome--I have gone through this many times. Maybe try asking or ordering Convex Wafers--those are wafers that are concave in the center allowing for a better seal around the stoma--Hollister and ConvaTec both make them. It also prevents leaks because it allows for more protrusion of the stoma-it won't seep behind the seal that way. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know! Take care

  • Hello, thank you so much for this video, it's very helpful. if anybody could please help me on my question, i would be very grateful. my grandma has a rectum tumor, so she got her colostomy done 3 days ago. we've done these steps and the wafer just keeps coming off...................(continue, youtube didn't let me post the rest in one comment)

  • Are you able or allowed to go swimming again?

I suffer SEVERE chronic diarrhea / IBD. Have for 9 years. I've begged for a surgical solution, but no one has given it to me. I also love swimming.

  • @mphello Of course you can swim with an ostomy! You can do anything with an ostomy!!! There are certain wraps to wear and special tap to put around your appliance, or various medical products that can be used to swim to make it easier specially made for ostomates! Don't let anything hold you back! I hope you feel better soon and get someone to work with you so you can have a better quality of life.

  • is that temp or perm?

  • @andrew09211 The one I used for this video was a fake ostomy I had borrowed from a hospital. But in real life I have a perm ostomy.

  • another way to use a waffer with out paste or powder is use a heating pad cut ur waffer to size and put the waffer sticky side down on the heating pad on high and leave it there for about ten minutes itll be hot but not too hot the heat helps it apply better to the skin

  • just get the convetec cut to fit and be done already..

  • thank you for the piece

  • how can you be so happy go lucky about it? wow this is a scary thought

  • where did you get the mock stoma from? I would like to wear one to know what it is like

  • @7richqwert I actually borrowed it from a friend, so I am not sure how to get one. I'm not sure if they still are being made. Maybe looking online for a mock stoma could help you further in purchasing one. Sorry I am no help.

  • can u just use normal scissors??

  • @mimcofied Yes, You may use a small normal scissors. The medical scissors have a rounded tip, to make cutting in a circle more easier, but a normal scissor should work too. Just make sure to make them very clean and not use them for anything else. Thanks for your comment!!

  • do u ever just change the bag?? and dont take off the sticker thing thats on the skin??

  • @mimcofied You can change just the bag if you have a problem with the bag, or if it gets old.. It's best to change both of the 2 pieces together. I usually change mine every 3-4 days. I shower with everything off, and replace everything new after the shower. Hope this helps!!

  • thanks for the information. I just started with hollister products and was not sure on how to use the clip

  • thank you for the information.

  • Changeing an Ostomy is a lot easyer then she makes it out to be

  • @DancingQueen602 This video is just a detailed video, for beginners. People can make any shortcuts, and go faster as they become more familiar with their ostomy. This process worked best for me, if you have a better suggestion, feel free to post a demonstration video or share with others your tips! The more information that people have to make things easier, the better! I'm not perfect, I just want people to have a guide. Thanks for commenting!

  • how did you lose your ileostomy ?

  • @miracleman2021 I had take down surgery to open my Jpouch. Now I live with an internal Jpouch presently.

  • You work really hard for ucvlog videos, its always interesting to watch how you give importance to everything in the video big and small.. all the details, makes watching your videos a very good experience and receiving all the information becomes much easier and not boring at all.

Watching you change the appliance was very informative and helped a lot in understanding what it is and how everything can be organized to make it easier.

    Another great video Nadia!
