Is Manila Science HS part of the Philippine Science High School system? If not, which do you think is the better school? I would like to enroll my son in either one, but I haven't made the choice yet. Please advise.

manila science is NOT part of philippine science. Manila Science High School is the first Science High School in the Philippines.

i cant advise you on which school to enroll your son because it might turn out very biased, being that i am currently a student in MaSci.

Why not forget trying to get advise from the internet and find out yourself by going to the schools personally.

Obviously I can't do that because I'm here in the U.S. (although my son and his Filipino father are in Manila). Perhaps I should contact the Phil. Dept. of Education? My impression is that Manila Science HS has a much better location, but Phil. Science HS has better facilities overall; am I right?

no, you being in the US is not obvious, due to the fact that you did not mention it before.

PhilSci does have better facilities because they are supported by DOST.

About the location, Manila Science can be found along Taft Avenue, Ermita; while PhilSci has different locations because PhilSci has more branches(?)

Yeah, I've heard that graduates of MSHS are just as good as graduates of PSHS, even though PSHS has better facilities and the studentts have stipends. Perhaps MSHS attracts Metro-Manila's best students because of MSHS's excellent location: it is located in the very heart of Manila, while PSHS is located in the far outskirts of Manila, which is not a good location. Do you think this is so?

MSHS graduates are not just as good as graduates of PSHS. PSHS graduates are just as good as MSHS graduates.

And the students dont go to MSHS just because of location. MSHS has students from las pinas, cavite, paranaque and places farther than sm fairview. there are a lot more places i'm sure and PSHS has a dormitory, students can stay there, so the location really isnt an issue.

quality really is the reason here.just a matter of choice.
