It is just a different take on the song. It has more of a pop feel here while with Ashton it is more country. It really depends on your taste who you think is better plus taste , fashion, styles and etc. change over three years.

Jasmine has been smart enough to cut three songs years before major Nashville artists even heard them .

It's a great clip and an even better song. Jasmine is an Aussie country music singer with a tenth of the audience and budget and her version is good also and more suited to the Australian market. She did make it " famous" in Australia. ( Long way from the US in case you weren't aware.)
I heard that Ashton's producer chose the song because it had been #1 somewhere else.

Just for the record, Jasmine Rae recorded Look It Up as the title track for her debut albunm in Sept 2008. She also had a #1 hit with the song here in Australia. The song was actually written by Robert Ellis Orrall and Angaleena Presley, neither Jasmine or Ashton wrote the song. Hopefully Ashton has a #1 hit in the USA as jasmine did in Australia - both versions sound great.

Jasmine has been smart enough to cut three songs years before major Nashville artists even heard them .
Ms Shepherd's " people " were certainly attracted to the song because it had already been #1 in Australia for Jasmine. A lot of American folks now seem to be viewing her videos and making comparisons ... apples and oranges folks.

@TheMommy2three you must not know what the four numbers after the month and date mean.... that's the year and this one says 2008 which was 3 years ago and ashton shepards was released just this year... and if i remember correctly it's 2011... it's called a cover... and seriously it doesn't sound any different from the original... they're both great versions
