It's tough in transportation I have never see it this bad. Use to be a seasoned driver could choose from many companies and now there are very few. While you are unemployed I recommend you get a DAC report find out what is on there you might apply for a job and they have something that you need to dispute. There are some real creeps running things out there. I am now driving a school bus not too much money but I have tons of time off. Best of all I can make plans to do things with people.
I think that as long as they're are people who keep having kids, the freight will keep moving.
As for DAC reports,I got mine, and JB Hunt is the only company that I ever had "issues" with. But so have thousands of other drivers. Items are in the process of being disputed right now. A really GOOD company sees JB Hunt, and they just laugh and blow it off.
