  • How about a sempron le-1150 2.4ghz?

(acording to passmark my cpu beats a P4 3600mhz but still im not sure if its enough for gpus like gt 440)

  • My Sempy didn't unlock, I can hit 4.0GHz though! Not a total loss I guess.

  • @savagex805 4GHz ?!? that's great, my cpu works ok at max 3.2 GHz only...

  • Comment removed

  • we have same board asrock n68c-s UCC..ive got x3 445..but when i change it into UCC ENABLE it restarts for a while and then i cant proceed to windows anymore..but when i change the bios again to disable the UCC..i saw my system information it says that AMD ATHLON II x4 b45..help me with this matter..thnk you..do i need to cnhge my cpu wattage?

  • @perezed1333 all I'm doing on my pc is enable the UCC function from BIOS, I don't have to modify anything else to make the cpu a dualcore... but remember that not every cpu can use its disabled cores with success!

  • can i overclock a AMD athlon 64 processor 3700+ ?

  • @XxUFOHUNTER1xX enter BIOS and look for some overclocking functions... but with much care !!! you can damage your hardware if you make big modifications.

  • wtf did u press at the start. what button?!

  • @ultimaterobloxian to enter BIOS I pressed DEL... if you refer to that one

  • @furulevi ooh i have another version... thanks for replying thou.

  • I'm getting a really cheap pc having this cpu and I will be stuck with this cpu for some time until I will get a phenom II X2 555 Black Edition to unlock it to a II x4 B55 at 3.5 ghz.

And eventually a gtx 560 Ti most probably.

Thanks for telling me that the single core that it will come with is actually secretly a dual core.

  • @FOGoticus and it can be overclocked pretty well too, mine is working at 3.2ghz instead of 2.7, but others managed even to 3.6ghz...

  • hey, i did this unlock and i played skyrim for the first time and, all the characters heads are really long and they are glitching out! help!! and some other games are fucked up too.

  • @pancakemix15 your games run well with 1 core enabled, and run corrupted with 2 cores enabled? ...also check for video card driver updates, and another thing... not every cpu can use its manually enabled core with success, that's why they are shut down!

  • @furulevi the games run with 1 core, but they are relly slow. with 2 cores enabled it suns fine but all people and stuff are glitchy.. do you think it could be something else maybe?

  • hey buddy can i unlock my amd sempron 2.8 ghz into dualcore? my board is asrock n68c-s ucc..

and is there any problem if i mistaken?

  • hey buddy can i unlock my amd sempron 2.8 ghz into dualcore? my board is asrock n68c-s ucc

  • @theuntouchble1 give it a try, enter bios and enable the UCC function...

  • same..

    nothing change!

  • but when i enable ucc nothing change...!

  • @kacerac09 after enabling ucc check your cpu from the system properties, or task manager, or cpuz, to see if the cpu's name is different, or the number of cores is more, or just see the difference in frames per second in games

  • can i unlock

    AMD Athlon ii x2 250 3.01Gzh

    intro some x4?

    On same motherboard!

    Just P1.30 verzion not P1.20 like your's

  • @kacerac09 it depends on the cpu... , just enable ucc from the bios

  • can i do that on XP my CPU is 1,70 can i have Dual core 1,70?

  • @MrRemaOfficial it depends on the mainboard and the cpu, not the operating system, just enable ucc from the bios if your motherboard is the same.

  • hey i have the motherboard asrock n68c-s ucc and i cant unlock my phenom 960t do u know whats the problem? :/

  • @13athanatosgr13 others have unlocked it as I see on the net... maybe your other cores are not usable... don't know for sure... my bios is version 1.40, check yours, but be careful with the bios updates

  • Hey guys. I tried the same thing on my AsRock N68 VS3 UCC, with an AMD Sempron 145, and it doesn't work properly, and doesn't recognize the Athlon X2 processor when UCC is Enabled. It recognizes the old processor. Any idea on what might be wrong?

  • @HOLLYWOODude Enabling and successfully using more cpu cores is like a lottery.... not every cpu can use it's enabled core(s)!

  • @furulevi I read a review in which someone said that he knew Semprons were Athlons with a burnt core, but he later realized that it's just deactivated, due to AMD's sales policy. Is it possible that they're selling Semprons with the deactivated core and the burnt core, and mine's from the second category? It works just fine as a Sempron, but I was really curious about unlocking it into an Athlon X2, since I heard that the cooler can handle it.

  • @HOLLYWOODude After my theory more than one core exists just to separate a bad area of the cpu from the good area, so if one area is damaged, than the cpu should not be thrown to the trash, but sold with the other working core. If you devide the cpu in more parts (aka cores) than you separate only a smaller area where the physical damage is and you can use more area of the working cpu. So I think you have an Athlon with errors on half of its surface, and because of this it is called a Sempron.

  • @furulevi Might be the case.

Might be one of those processors. When I quit the BIOS, the computer shut down, and it turns on in a few seconds, and sometimes it loads the operating system, sometimes it doesn't. It's fine after disabling the UCC, no more issues like that. So it might be one of the processors with errors or a malfunctioning core. Thanks for the explanations.

  • my is pentium 4 can I make it dual core

    ??

  • @MrAnickname I think Intel CPUs can't be unlocked... or at least not yet...

  • @lapimano2 ** overclocked

  • @hello1967amazing ...and is stable?

  • @furulevi hi i have the same motherboard and the same cpu and after doind the same thind as you my pc restart's and at the welcome screen of windows it crashes and then restarts i have windows xp not seven might that be the problem ?? btw 10 for the tutorial XD

  • @Roko2058 XP is not a problem, my cpu is working on xp32bit, win7 32/64bit too... the cpu's core probably not too good... make sure you did not overclocked it... at least my cpu is not working when overclocked, but others can unlock and overclock it in the same time (youtube user Lancer265)... this is like a lottery I guess

  • @furulevi 10x for your help i guess its just not working and that is it :|

  • @furulevi id assume

  • @lapimano2 I have read reviews of sempron processors having this done, in one review the guy over locked too 4.0 Ghz, so from the reviews I've read it's safe :)

  • @hello1967amazing My Sempron 140 works ok with 2 cores enabled, but it's not stable at all when overclocked even a little bit, and it will refuse to start up if it is overclocked to 3.6 GHz (1GHz in plus from 2.7)! ...so I don't recommend to force it with too high frequencies!

  • ok, so if i do it, ill not damage my cpu, right?? i'll try

  • No itsn't fake i have the same pc specs of this vid and for me workss THANKSSS DUDE <3

  • fake . !!

    sempron 140 has 4.6 point for windows 7 . but there min. score 5.8 .. !!

  • @loverboykimi My Windows experience index is 5.8.

    processor = 6.1 (Athlon II X2 4400e 2.7GHz)

    memory = 7.0 (3GB DDR2 800MHz DualChannel)

    graphics = 6.8 (GF9800GT 512MB DDR3 256bit)

    gaming graphics = 6.8

    primary hard disk = 5.8 (IDE ATA 100 160GB 7200rpm)

  • fake difrent processors

  • @kapul4 Google "sempron 140 athlon x2 4400e" and read the 2nd.

  • fake

  • @legaless24 prove it ! :)

  • Hi, is it possible to unlock an amd sempron 145 or it is only avalible with 140.

Is there a chance that the hardware will damage itself and wont run anymore, even with resetting CMOS?

  • @lapimano2 I haven't tried on anything else than the Sempron 140... so I don't know. About the damage... I don't know either, but my Sempron 140 it is working fine with 2 cores enabled for more than a year!

  • @furulevi Ok, thanks, i've read many comments, but i havent find anything about damaged cpus so i think it is unlikely or nearly impossible to damage it, but i dont think i will try it, cause i cant affor a new one if im wrong :)

  • @lapimano2 because they are 2 different processors. anyone who is not an idiot would see that...

  • Great stuff I see this video is from 2010 and ur already having Windows7,

where did u get it from?

  • can this harm your computer or any part of it ? o.O

  • @bakala94 ...I think not, but I'm not sure, this is not overclocking, you are not forcing the cpu to work faster, you're forcing it only to use another core that is probably faulty, or not faulty. If your pc does not work at all after enabling another core, than just take out the mainboard's battery to clear the manual settings introduced into the bios... so this is like a lottery I guess!

  • I have the same processor ,matherboard

I did everything that the video says

Now my computer doesn't turn on

    I think that is broken

    Can samebody help me

    (sorry for my bad english)

  • @Arbri064 not every cpu can use it's officially turned off core!! you can try to take out the motherboard's battery for a minute and than the bios settings should be reseted to their default values, and the computer should work fine...

  • Very impressive my friend.

  • @RGUNZ12 thanks ;)

  • How much temperature u get? i have the exact same processor as u

  • @miodragtv With 2 cores enabled, in DiRT3, with max graphics, I can easily keep my finger on the cpu's heatsink (the video card must be pretty decent not to leave all the work to the cpu). I can't give exact temperature measurement, because most temperature monitoring software refuse to recognize the Athlon II 4400e.

  • How does your windows boot so fast? lol

  • @dudu90tm It doesn't boot that fast, THE VIDEO IS CUT to show mostly the essential parts and not to bore others with the useless waiting...

  • @furulevi THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • @ilijayamato ;)

  • Very nice...

  • do you used stock headsink?

  • @nfsrecorder yes it is the original heatsink and cooler given with the CPU, and the cooler speed is set to almost minimum rpm from the BIOS to be silent. (does not overheat in modern games either)

  • @furulevi Will this give me an FPS boost? Yes or no? :D

  • @TazManianDevil20 definitely YES !

  • wonder if I can do this on a Sempron 145

  • awesome

  • mine does not unlock 2 core on that cpu:( same motherboard and cpu never done this even when it was new. crashes BOIS then i have to take CMOS Jumper thing out

  • @MultiHotkey ...not every CPU can use its officially locked core, that's why they are locked, they have some minor or major physical error. :|

  • wtf i have the exact same motherboard and cpu as you, enable UCC save and exit, start windows and it still tells me it's AMD sempron 140 processor :(

  • @DJTwistedz ...probably the CPU's second core is not in a good condition and thus it can't be used, I don't know. :|

  • Is this motherboard decent for overclocking ? I want to unlock the 4th core of an AMD Phenom 8400, and get a decent overclock, since it's @ 2.1 ghz ;s I'l be using the Coolermaster H101 cooler .

  • @baeecarmen My motherboard (N68C-S UCC) lets me overclock my Sempron 140 from 2.7 GHz to 3.6 GHz, but... even the slightest overclocking after a not too long period results in a bluescreen in Windows, and at 3.6 GHz Windows won't even start at all. So... I think the CPU is the problem in this case not the mainboard.

  • can i convert N68-VS3 UCC to dual core

  • @psalm2338 The mainboard can enable other cores! It has the UCC (Unlock CPU Core) function. Try it, see if your CPU is able to use its second core.

  • @furulevi i have 2.80 amd sempron cpu it is single core

  • does it speed up the cpu

  • @psalm2338 off course !! The frequency is the same 2.7 GHz, but the performance is much better with 2 cores enabled, especially in games.

  • cant believe my luck, just what im looking for.. have the exact processor and mobo as you x)

  • @BenSow95 :) than try to enable that UCC function, if the second core is good, than you have a dualcore athlon for the price of a sempron!

  • I have a M61PME-S2P Motherboard and a AMD Sempron Processor ..

Can I unlock it to become Dual-Core?

  • @mckullet004 don't know, but you can try from the BIOS somewhere here too:

    EC firmware selection > hybrid

Advanced clock calibration > all cores

    example: youtube.com/watch?v=cAMaIpWGozo&feature=watch_response

  • @furulevi Sir, it doesn't have that EC Firmware selection. T_T

  • wowo it said Sempron and then it changed to athelon wow you changed processors...

  • @EliteBlackTech ;)) the processor physically is the same, but since it uses 2 cores it is recognized as Athlon instead of Sempron

  • check out How I was able to unlock my AMD athlon II X2 5000+ to a Phenom FX-5000+ CPU XD !!! its crazy but it works !

  • @LeaveNoEvident256 ;) cool :) keep the camera more steady when shooting, good job !! :)

  • can i do this on my NARRA5 motherboard?

  • @63Alex45 don't know, but you can try from the BIOS somewhere at:

    EC firmware selection > hybrid

Advanced clock calibration > all cores

    example: youtube.com/watch?v=cAMaIpWGozo&feature=watch_response

  • @furulevi errr will I lose any data at all to perform this?

  • @BenSow95 You shouldn't theoretically because your enabling a function from the BIOS only, your not doing anything related to the hard drive.

  • @furulevi thanks, just enabled it... havent noticed any difference...

  • @BenSow95 Check your CPU, is it Sempron or Athlon this time!? Especially in games you should see the difference. :)

  • @furulevi Athlon :) my graphic card sucks so i dont really play games.. gonna upgrade it soon though... But after the change I noticed my PC freezes more often... so now I reverted it back. lol

  • @BenSow95 In my case the processor is stable enough with 2 cores enabled, but freezes after a few minutes if it is even a little bit overclocked.

  • @furulevi i only changed that setting in BIOS, for OC is it changed from BIOS settings too? BTW what would happen if i have a phenom II X6 on this motherboard and enable UCC?

  • @BenSow95 Yes, overclocking works from the BIOS too in this case. About the 6 core CPU... I really have no idea, I suppose nothing will happen because there are no more cores on it physically...

  • @BenSow95 Wouldn´t work ofcourse.

This method only activates a DEACTIVATED processor core, which is physically there but not active by default.

  • @MrGermanBratwurst Why would AMD deactivate a previous one of the cores of a processor and resell as another product? o.o

not that I don't believe you( I already read about it).. Just curious

  • @BenSow95 Did you watched the vid? Its cheaper to do and if one core of a quad is not perfect they sell it as triple core...

  • @MrGermanBratwurst ohhh... Anyways does this motherboard support 8GB or 4GB mac? I'm kinda confused by it's spec page..

    - 2 x DDR2 DIMM slots

    - Supports DDR2 1066*/800/667/533 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

    - Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB**

    *Support with AM3 / AM2+ CPU.

**Due to the operating system limitation, the actual memory size may be less than 4GB for the reservation for system usage under Windows® 32-bit OS. For Windows® 64-bit OS with 64-bit CPU, there is no such limitation.

  • @BenSow95 Easy: If you install WIndows in 32 Bit and you have 8GB Ram in your board, then you will only be able to use ~3,25 GB cause of Windows 32Bit Limitation. But if you install 64 Bit Windows you will be able to use up to amaximum of 128GB :D So you will have 8GB in Windows. But you can only install the maximum amount the mainboard AND Proccessor can use! In this case 8GB.

But be shure to install 8GB of DDR2*800 Memory

  • @MrGermanBratwurst 128GB?? What the..

Why DDR2*800? On my motherboard it says DDR3 16000

  • @BenSow95 You said:

    Supports DDR2 1066*/800/667/533

So your board said somethign different...

  • @MrGermanBratwurst Oh my bad my bad! My Mainboard is the N68-S3 UCC, not the N68-S..

  • hmmm

  • can i make a single core AMD V160 laptop processor into dual core ? (2.4 gHz)

  • @iMakeFilmsOfGames don't know..., but if your BIOS has some core unlocking features than you can try it...

  • when I do this I need to change the ventilation of my processor to avoid burning?

  • @oscarhm11 My cpu cooler has 4 pins, so I set the rpm to the lowest possible from BIOS. My cpu does not heat up too much with 2 cores enabled (no overclocking) even in high end games too. The Sempron 140 is a 45 nanometer cpu, and it does, not use much power... I have the original fan which was given with the cpu... I don't think you should change your cooler fan if it cools well, but monitor it's temperature with your finger :) especially when playing modern games!

  • can i unlock using this asRock N68C-SE ?

  • @findlandezul I think not... no cpu unlocking feature is mentioned on the asrock site for that motherboard...

  • U can do the following with AMD -- Single core into double and triple into quad core

  • are is this safe?

  • @BojanNusknvp for me it works perfectly for almost a year...

  • Question: For a software i have, i need a duel core CPU, so can I get a single cored CPU and unlock it to make it work?

  • @wclabs it not 100% that it will work

  • Quick question: i need a duel core CPU for a software i just bought, can i get a single core CPU and unlock the second and have it work properly as if i had an unlocked duel core ?

  • @wclabs Not exactly.... enabling another core is something like a lottery, there is no guarantee that the single core cpu will work correctly with it's newly enabled core! The cores are turned off for a reason. (smaller/bigger problem)

  • what the fuck was yur CPU celeron(x1) and yu unlocked it to duo even doe its 1 core??

i have 2.80GHZ duo can i unlock it to x3 cores?????

  • @THEKINGBG1 The CPU is an "AMD Sempron 140" not "Intel Celeron". It was single core and after unlocking it became dualcore. Dualcore CPUs as I know can't be unlocked into triplecore... but if you have a suitable motherboard you can try, who knows...

  • sempron 140 and asrock n68c-s-ucc? it really worked? wow, i will buy it!

  • i got the AsRock N68PV-GS and i dont see the UCC in BIOS , i got AMD x2 250 3.0ghz and i thought if i could do it X3

  • @AeRowLc200 I think that motherboard can't unlock another core..., and to make a 3core from a 2core cpu is impossible also as I know, but it should work with a 3core to turn it into a 4core cpu. I haven't tried any other combinations, this is working decently form me even in modern 2011 games too (my video is GF9800GT !).

  • @AeRowLc200 does X3 stand triple core, or is it just a smiley?

  • what button do you press when you restart to enter the bios or whatever the hell that menu is called? I'm getting the amd sempron 140 and a Biostar amd motherboard A880G+. So that should be good for the unlocking, right, cause thats what all the reviews on amazon said to get for this cpu.

  • @kargmeister1337 I can enter into my BIOS with "F2" or with "DEL" (when the computer starts up, or during restart). That motherboard has also a core unlocking feature (ACC - Advanced Clock Calibration), try it and hope it will work ok for you too !!! (but remember, not every Sempron 140 can be unlocked and used successfully)

  • I've been searching through Google, and now youtube, for a way to unlock the sempron on my AMD 780g mobo, and I haven't the slightest on how to do so. Should I follow this vid as an example? I am using a gateway

  • @EngiPie If your BIOS has the UCC function (unlonck cpu core) than just enable it, but I think only ASRock has it, on other motherboards it is made from a combination of a few other settings (more complicated).

  • @furulevi alright, well thanks anyway. :D

  • @PainlessTragedy23 If your BIOS doesn't have the UCC (Unlock CPU Core) function, than you could try some other settings from BIOS(a bit more comlpicated). I don't know if this trick can be done via a jumper too. I don't recommend to change your BIOS!!! (1 mistake and you're whole PC is useless) ...and even if you have your Sempron140 and a suitable mainboard that is not a guarantee that the cpu will work correctly with it's second core enabled!!! :( this is like a lottery

  • i having the motherboard ms-7309 it will work??

  • what is the benfit of unlocking the cpu? I mean in Games the 2 cores will be unlocked anyway Id guess. If I enable the option i can't view the Temp Setting in Core Temp 0.99.8

  • @OpticalHaze By unlocking the second core your computer uses 2 cores instead of just one. Games by themselves don't use 2 cores on this Sempron 140 if the BIOS and Windows recognizes only 1 core. The frame rates are much better with 2 cores enabled. Not all enabled cores can work correctly! They are disabled by default for a reason...

  • THANKS!!! I unlocked my Athlon XP 2400+ into Athlon 64 X2 5200+! :)

  • i having the msi motherboard but the processor is and sempron 140 but i am not getting the oc tweaket tab in bios please suggest what should i do for this??plz helpppppp

  • @gouravkumar2050 Every motherboard is different... thus every BIOS is different, not all motherboards have the UCC fuction! On other motherboards than ASRock it is more difficult to enable the second core, you have to do more adjustments than one. And even if you have a suitable motherboard the CPU must have another well working core too!!! Not every CPU can be unlocked and used successfully too!!!

  • i have got the same mainboard like you :D

  • @SPOC236 I don't know, I haven't tried it... but the mainboard must have that simple UCC function too, otherwise it must be done in a more complicated way somehow, and the cpu is too old I think in order to enable another core on it (I don't think that one has 2 physical cores)

  • @furulevi i have a Phenom x4 but it wont works when i tried to do that. its still X4 not x6 my mobo sames as yours

  • @CradleofDemet The mainboard says that it supports up to 6 cores... maybe the cpu that you are using can't use its other cores, but what it does after you enable the UCC function from BIOS??

  • How much can i overclock this processor without increasing voltages,i mean only increasing the bus speed?

  • @Lancer265 I didn't modified any frequency settings manually, I used only the automated overclocking thing called "Load Optimized CPU OC Settings" and there applied +5%,+10%, ...+30%. For me it was not working flawlessly for long periods so I don't use my CPU overclocked too, 2 cores enabled is pretty enough.

  • Hmm just tried this with same motherboard but no overclock and now it starts up but not even the power buttons respond, think I've killed it, any ideas?

  • @konigsred Not all CPUs are in good enough condition to enable its second core, try to take out the mainboard's battery to reset the bios settings.

  • Does this only work on AMD Sempron processors?

  • @HonorConnor It works with newer AMD processors, sempron, athlon, phenom

  • @furulevi Could you do a list of steps, I'm confused on how to get there.

  • @HonorConnor If you have exactly those components as in the video than it should be like this:

-start pc with default BIOS settings and check if "System Properties" (win+break) says "Sempron processor"

-restart pc and enter BIOS (tap Del at startup)

    -go to "OC Tweaker" tab

-find "ASRock UCC" press enter on it and set it to Enabled

-press F10 to save settings and exit BIOS

-start Windows, check your new CPU in system properties (it should say Athlon X2)

Not every cpu runs ok with enabled cores!

  • its safe?

  • PLSS help me

i eneble the UCC then >> reboot>> but the windows cant open

    what shall I do??

  • This is why AMD wins

  • Hey man can you help me with ASROCK N68C-GS-UCC I what to know how to use up to 8gb of ram. How much does any slot suport & can I use ddr2 in the same time with the ddr3?

  • @KEEVVY In order to use 8GB of RAM you need to use 2 modules of 4GB each (DDR2 or DDR3), you can't use DDR2 and DDR3 in the same time !!! Your pc will not start up that way.

    For example: can't use 2GB DDR2 + 2GB DDR2 + 2GB DDR3 + 2GB DDR3 in order to get a total of 8 GB.

Other things: you must use a 64 bit (x64) operating system in order to recognize and use all of the 8GB of RAM, ...aaand you must use an AM3 CPU in order to use DDR3 RAMs. (huh... that was long)

  • @furulevi actually yeah you can but you have to set your ram frequencies in the bios to the slowest chip of ram you have in your computer if your motherboard supports it

  • a direct "CAN INTEL DO THAT" statement.

  • @MidnightRedemption I think not... (or not yet)

  • good sir what ram type do you have? ddr3?

    just curious

  • @gearsofshock ddr2, pc6400, 800mhz
