I can't beat this game without the Divine Sword. I gotta have that. The only item that is useless is the salamander shield.

One thing that was disappointing about this game was that when you get Athena's shield and then the salamander shield, you still show that turquoise shield you have since the beginning.  (Btw, why does he start with a shield if it doesn't block arrows? Athena's shield looks just like the one you have before you get it).

Man, I loved this game. Thanks for the memories. Couple things I noticed: yes you have to have the Staff and it must shoot fire. Also kneeling at that fountain in front of Athena's Temple will not only replenish your health meter, but also your nectar jar.

I'm playing it again on an emulator. I had played it through in the past. It's difficult but fun, except for those greedy greek gods, they want so many olives

Nah, good choice for a PIT. BoO really is one of the greatest (and most obscure) NES games and deserves its time in the spotlight. =0)

I think it would be funny if you could play as heroine and safe the hero for an optional game play. :D

And yah, I agree, it was kinda silly to kneel before you could talk to god, it makes sense yah but took people a while to get it.

True, this game contains lots of back tracking but that's why I like this game because it ain't so linear.

Also, the reason why sandals doesn't work sometimes is the ceiling, but just holding jump button and running will do.
