  • Thank you so much for putting the camera on your hands this time and WOW...such beautiful work. I can tell you have been doing this for awhile. The needle and yarn look so small and such tiny stitches...so intricate. I would love to learn but it would definitely take me awhile as I still have trouble sometimes remembering my place with medium yarn and regular needles making a scarf. I would be so lost on this...hahaha.

  • Very nice!

  • It's totally beautiful and amazing. Lucky you

  • Well......I think it's not training video or teach how to do it, but something like showing off. See what I can do :-/

  • How long did it take you to finish something like that? It's very beautiful :)

  • what medium do you use to prick your pins in the video hook?

  • BELLISSIMO ! ! !

  • This is such and inspirational video! Extremely beautiful. I never thought to pin down my lace project when using the smaller needles! I truly know I love to crochet when I can watch another crochet artist create something so beautiful and still want to see more! Thank you so very much for posting this video and opening up new avenues for us all to explore.

  • Fabulous!

  • È lindissimo. Parabens!!!!!!

  • wow! You and your work are just stunning! Love the dresses - and a RED wedding dress!! LOVE IT!!

  • Just found you! Lovely work, Ira, thanks for sharing such a supreme and inspiring talent. So feminine and beauitufl. And so many say we women have to do as men have traditionally done to have any value. Pfft. You prove so many wrong, and their ideas pitiful. Thanks tons for teaching the greatness and loveliness of which women are capable.

  • Damn... I have barely the patience for a hat in worsted weight. I suppose I've a long way to go if I wish to make anything nearly that impressive.

  • am dazzle and amazed by your creations.

  • WOW i love this... (im a man and...) i was wondering how on earth you guys (crocheting people) can do a piece like this, with such small thread so fast 0.o. Please tell me that there is one for beginners?(i have been crocheting for about 5 yrs) but i can still only do granny squares and circular bed-spreads. Thank you. If there IS a beginner way of doing this, then you would have made my year :)

  • I'm Irish and I love your work. The problem is that

I wouldn't have the eyes for such fine thread. I use

a baby yarn which makes the stitches bigger but

I like it like that anyway.

    methodistgirl

  • That is the teeniest crochet hook I've ever seen!!!

You must have patience of gold to work in such a delicate scale.

I crochet as well, but something that delicate and intricate would drive me crazy.

You do much better work than I do.

  • I see now! that is a fantastic way of keeping the different pieces together and visualizing the entire pattern and its fit! I will definitely keep it in mind next time.

  • This is amazing... must be tough on your eyes. Had never seen this technique before.

  • Isso é pura arte!!!

  • Che pazienzaaaaaa!!! Brava!!!

  • Maravilloso!!!!

  • This is truly beautiful work! What an artist you are. Someday.... Maybe.... I'll try it.

  • hi...love your work..only, may i ask what an irish crochet is??? how does it differ from an ordinary crochet method? thanks a lot....God bless...

  • Ms. Ira

Thank you for sharing your work. I crochet as well, but not with fine threads. A week ago, I saw this dress and I tell you it was absolutely beautiful. So I said I must seek teachings of how to get started. Keep up your work my friend. Just breathtaking. Take care.

  • Wow. Your amazing. This is the first time I heard of irish crochet. Im going to start learning thread crochet this week. I have thought of thread crochet for a while now and im going to start. I like what your making. It takes a lot of time to do. Keep posting.

  • Ira, I have just discovered your work and they are all breathtakingly beautiful!! You are truly an inspiration to all crocheters. I hope one day I can crochet my daughter's wedding dress. Thank you so much for sharing your art with the world...I love it all!!

  • @gerrivenice thank you

  • hey nice work! :) i would like to know what size needle did u use in this work?....thank you!

  • @MsMunchy23 i used crochet hook about 1.5-1.7 mm do not remember for sure

  • Absolutely beautiful, & mesmerizing to watch!

I watched this & the other video, & I had a few questions --you're probably going to wish you had a FAQ vid!

#1-I'm assuming from the beige cloth, that this is an overlay for the bodice of a dress?

#2-will you do the entire bodice, or just the front? Do you 'just' continue without a "break" onto the other bodice pieces?

#3-Do you have a picture of the finished product?

#4-HOW did you learn, & who taught you to do this?

    Very Serious WOW factor!

  • @DamiettadCarnivalle , thank you for your interest in my work :) you can see my finished dresses in gallery on my website IraRott.com I work continuously with no braking yarn, but sometimes it needs to be cut and start filling crochet net from other spot. Basic knitting and crocheting i learned from my family (mom and grandma), Irish crochet i learned by myself looking at the beautiful Irish crocheted items and trying to find a way to create something similar...

  • WOW.... I crochet with Yarn... but this is seriously beautiful... x

  • Lindíssimo!

  • Lindíssimo!

  • Beautiful work! And part of its beauty is the patient dedication and anticipation, a kind of love for the work, that comes through your hands, also detectable in the video. Thank you for the lovely demo.

  • @mecca115able I simply covered a Ceiling Board with soft fabric. Star foam board will work same good.

  • How long did this take to make?

  • hey! thats beautiful...is Irish crochet any different from normal crochet?

  • I have always been so interested in Irish crochet lace! how did you learn? Is there a specific book or DVD that helps teach you the technique?

  • @pzpcreations i did not use any specific books... There is an amazing Ukrainian magazine "Duplet" i love to discover. It is reach for ideas and unique Irish Crochet tips ...

Some of my designs you can find there as well ;-)

  • Beautiful!

  • WOW you are a master in crochet, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us..

  • Oh my goodness...this is just stunning. I would buy your work in a pinch right now if I had the money. You are a true artisan!

  • What ground motif are you using? It looks like the Cork style of ground with bars but I don't see well enough to be sure. I don't recognize any of the usual ground motifs with picots, clones knots, trefoils etc.

  • wow soooooo nice! you are talented

  • So beautiful! :)

  • thank you- you do beautiful work!

  • wonderful video! what do you use for your board and what do you cover it with?

  • hi, You can use piece of wood plate( sorry I dont know, how to call it exactly. that stuff is used to cover the back of wardrobes and it shouldnt be flexy :) ) than take a same size piece of foam, put it on the plate and cover it with any type of fabric and staple it on the back, ensure that fabric tightly covers the foam. good luck :)

  • The wooden plate is called ( board).

  • wonderful piece !! so helpful - i love irish lace crochet.

  • I like this video, even though the sound is disabled.

I never even have heard about Irish crocheting on a board or a pillow. I did learn something new with this.

Is this because it keeps the tension more even?

I do not know if my hands and eyes and mind could adjust to crocheting on a board.

  • sound was disabled, probably You use illegal sound track :) by the way I dont have special board for Irish laces, so I use a pillow instead :)

  • beautiful work ,thak you , i was looking how it was done , happy crochet!!

  • yes, that is right ;-)

  • i do not know why audio has been disabled, maybe next time i will save in AVI format... It sounds fine on the my computer...

  • do you use needle to join motifs into bigger groups of motifs and then crochet the net, right?

  • @almantaite yes, i sew the motifs to a bigger groups with a needle :-)

  • were is the sound?
