"Who looks at a Screwdriver and thinks, oh this could be a little more sonic?"
"What you've never been bored?" - This story is expanded in "A Christmas Carol." apparently, the Doctor once had the choice of kissing a girl or developing a new kind of screwdriver, and chose the latter, probably not noticing the girl's intentions. The girl in question might be the Rani, since the Doctor apparently(and the Master certainly) had the hots for her back at the academy.XD
I absolutely ADORE David Tennant as the tenth doctor, but i truly madly deeply miss Chris Eccleston. He was mine and my mom's favorite Doctor before Tennant and he still makes me smile and wish for him whenever i see the reruns...his and Rose's chemistry-though different from her's and nine's-had an 'oomph' to it that went beyond compare
The ship that Jack stole crashed to Earth was a form of ambulance - the nanogenes inside had never seen a human and when they saw Jamie they assumesd that all humans were like that. That is why the zombies wore gas-marks and had scars on the backs of their hands. Jack thought that The Doctor and Rose were Time Agents That is why he sent the ambulance through time so he could con them into thinking that it was more valuable than it was really worth.
I know! I think Moffat is one of the most talented writers they have in the team. He writes scary AND funny! Plus, I absolutely adored that little thing he wrote for Children In Need, with the Fifth Doctor.
wow you love john barrowman. Guess, what(i bet you'll be jelous ;] ) my mate went to one of his concerts ha she sed it was brill, Just thought id let you know lol
Thank you! I've been looking for that "Volcano Day" quote at the start since it featured in the trailer for series 4 episode 2. My Who-vian friends were looking at me like I was mad when I was saying "No, seriously Jack said about Volcano Day, in series one! It's an injoke!"
captain Jack has matured a lot since his first appearance in doctor who. In season 1 he's very childish and all over the place but in season 2 and in torchwood he's matured and gotten more serious but he still has that childish way about him which I love but the guy did hitchhike through an entire century before he ended up in torchwood so that kind of explains it all.
I started watching Torchwood cos im an insane slasher and my friend showed me the Jack/Ianto kiss in the end of End of Days. I watched the whole series then, and then bought Dr. Who season one. So I kind of did it backwards. I know some people didnt like Captain Jack when he first appeared on the scene, but I loved him from Torchwood so I liked him from the start. its great to see him so carefree in these clips though. He doenst have the wieght of immortality bringing him down.
I miss Nine! Don't get me wrong, David Tennant is beyond awesome, but I adore Christopher Eccelston. He and John Barrowman had great chemestry. It's good to see how far Jack has come since then. We was far less jaded then, but also far more selfish. How far he's come..
Christopher Eccleston was better at Linguistic jokes he was also more enigmatic than Tennant. Tennant has the edge when it comes to physical expression but I'd love to have seen how muych further Christopher Eccleston could have gone - I wonder if they could ever write Eccleston back into a few episodes.
@TaienQuinn Theoretically they could, because we never saw his regeneration into the Ninth, so they could write like Season 0. I have a whole arch for a season before the Time War with references to the next seasons and a companion and everything XD

Does anyone else find it a bit suspicious that the Doctor feels it necessary to constantly remind Jack that he "likes bananas"?
And then tricks Jack into holding his banana?
Aetera 1 year ago 4
LOL The guys bickering over the validity of a sonic screwdriver while poor Rose is the only one thinking practically.

This is the first time I've watched the ninth doctor, and I must say, I might watch him more, 'cause he's AWESOME!!!

@agent502 He's definitely just as amazing as Ten - just different - a little darker and sadder, but lots of integrity and compassion

Me too, I liked Eccleston alot more. Plus his sort of world weary persona was good as well. He reminds me of Tom Baker in some ways.

You just can't beat the writing in this episode:
"Well I've got a banana and in a pinch you could put up some shelves" - "Window?"
"Barred, sheer drop outside, seven stories"
"And no other exits"
"Well... the assets conversation went in a flash didn't it?"
OR
"Okay... one, we've got to get out of here; two, we can't get out of here - have I missed anything?"
As I say, the writing's genius! - Kudos to Steven Moffat :)

The weight of immortality bringing him down is a really good point. He's less serious and brooding here.
