@readergroup ya i have a few pics of the cactus theres 1 thats from a book i found and one with my great-grandfather at the help posing. id be happy to send you copys of the pics
Looks like the flush of water they were waiting for did the trick. Sometimes a tug over a submerged obstacle can do more damage, especially to a wooden bottom than desired, I can see why they may have turned you down on that.
I have just seen this boat pass behind my house in Atherstone, Warwickshire. First Bolinder engine I had seen. Beautiful :)
