I don't know. I laughed the first time I saw this and many times afterward, but it still seems as though they hate being next to one another in this clip. Ok, I really don't understand why I got several thumbs down...I wasn't putting either one of them down. Is it a crime that they aren't best friends? I love them together because, like the rest of you, I long to see them happy with each other...I just don't think they especially like each other or would be friends outside of work. I agree with you. I love the show, and I love them. Obviously they are good actors. I think they also have great chemistry, which is part of the show's success, but you don't have to like a person, or have anything in common with them to have chemistry. Unfortunately. I don't really see them meeting up for coffee, or anything like that.

Thank you! I guess people can get so hung up in what is fiction that they can't really accept reality- and my comment above was based on reality, not the world as it's seen in The X-Files. While I think they make an adorable couple on-screen (emphasize ADORABLE), their off-camera relationship has something to be desired, in my opinion. They are actors who are paid to love each other on camera. In real life, David and Gillian are NOTHING like Mulder and Scully, and they never will be. Sorry...
